It's better than CS:GO, but nobody plays it competitively. Also CS:GO is cheaper, But CS:S has a slightly less cancerous community. So you decide, I'd just buy them all in a bundle.

Counter-Strike: Source is one of those classic games that don't go away that easily. This game is like the CLIMAX of the CS series since CS 1.4. I bet that most people knew about Counter-Strike because of this game. This game is well-polished, it did have bugs and glitches back then but it's gone after several updates. Even playing with just bots is fun to play (especially putting them on the highest difficulty. Aimbot and all).

I still remember those early times of CS:S where you can't choose a "soldier/mercenary" to use, like just getting into the game with the same "outfit", which is the Phoenix and I think the ST6 (if I'm not mistaken). Also, this game had a shield once. It was fun to use but it was removed from the game.

Well, this game might last for decades, I hope. Overall, it's a GREAT game. I can't even like make a minimalistic or a wide review for this game since it's just that good and memorable. Definitely will be played for years.

NOTE: Yes, currently I have few hours of this game but I actually played the "cracked/pirated" version of it when I was 7, so if I add up all the hours back then and sum it all up with my current hours. I probably have a thousand hours (or almost) of game time (including offline times).

If I have wrong grammars and comprehensions or any reactions, feel free to comment on my review. Thanks for reading.

This game gave me endless fun years ago, spent over 4.5k hours on this game from competitive games to being a criminal in jail_, shooting dressed up mario players in mg_, climbing the Mount Everest in kz_, being a crazy bunny in bhop_ or surfing through the map at surf_

The game with endless possibilities.

The community is interesting to say the least, but it's fun to join bhop and DM servers here and there.

Great CS game. There are many mods for it: death match, gun game, capture the flag, zombie, surf, etc. If you like the idea of matchmaking from CS:GO, but you don't like the game itself, you can try PUG servers.

Plagued with hackers, plagued with people who've been playing since they were 7 years old, plagued with kids, plagued with a very repetitive maps that no one wants to switch, plagued with a nasty, hateful community, trolls, misfits and out of date graphics.

Sadly CS:GO has become a ESPORT game, and that’s somehow supposed to be a great thing?! In short it means that this title lacks all the older more ‘fun’ characteristics of the original Counterstrike series. I remember back in CS 1.6 there was a wide diversity of maps that people would engage in, servers had 400 maps in rotation, no one would remember how the maps would turn out or where they would head, certain maps had exploits, others were fun and had jeeps, and it was all a ♥♥♥♥ storm of fun! Skill was more based on multiple factors, from reaction times, acclimation to the new map, team work, creativity and spray patterns to take out your enemy. It feels like in CS:GO the entire acclimation to new environments Is gone totally, everyone rotates 4 of the same maps over and over again, no one wants to even dare try something new, despite new maps being released that are well balanced. Creativity is limited as there are no map elements that influence the enemy team anymore, no jeeps, no major destructible elements, heck even Pavarotti’s track in Italy is no longer blasting away and dimming away walking sounds on the outside. Everything in CS:GO is factored to accommodate ESPORT, and if you like that type of thing then go right ahead.

The community is another let down in CS, everyone expects you to be amazing at the game, even if you’re new. Do something out of the ordinary, even if it works and gets the win, will often result in critique and childish insults.

Sadly for me CS is a game with happy memories in the past, this title - although played thoroughly now, doesn’t interest me anymore.

I wouldn’t recommend CS:GO or CS to anyone. Let that ♥♥♥♥ go
