Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot!

Greetings Opulencians!

Cornelius Richling, Opulencia's turkey-talking tradesman here, about to open my doors on the freshest creature in stock, CLUSTERCLUCK. You're definitely gonna want to trample your fellow Opulencians in order to gobble up this limited time offer.

Don’t let his quaint, period dress and saggy snood fool you into loosening your belt. This torpedoing turkey is not toilet trained, IN THE WORST POSSIBLE WAY. Shamelessly pooping fire-eggs that roll around briefly before detonating, he's going to make omelettes of your enemies.

In a confounding new twist, and one that is going to add a whole new layer to your strategies, Clustercluck is the first to damage other creatures too! Draw his fire, and then duck away. Use him to your advantage!

But be careful not to mourn him too soon; destroying this guy isn't the end of him. This double-breasted birdbrain throws his own vicious wake; leaving an acrid aftertaste in the form of a corrosive lava puddle where he stood.

You may have a lot on your plate, but this is no time to go cold turkey, Get second helpings on this week's main course before he's flown the coop!

His explosive eggs will give your enemies a shelling.

About This Game

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a brand new game from Ubisoft Montreal that thrusts you in an outrageous medieval fantasy world called Opulencia where wealth, status and showboating are the name of the game!

As a newcomer to Opulencia, you will hack n slash your way through hundreds of castles designed by the ingenious minds of your fellow players!

Don’t forget to show them who’s boss by constructing deadly keep of your very own – in this kingdom, size really does matter!

Key Features

  • Castle Looting: Prepare your hero for battle and charge into one of many player-created castles to test your skills and might! Oh yeah, and don’t forget all the loot and gold waiting for you in the treasure room at the end of the castle.
  • Castle Defense: Protect your treasure from the greedy hands of your neighbors. You and your friends can build custom castles with majestic rooms and fill them with deadly monsters like fire-breathing dragons, nose-picking Cyclopes, swarming vampires and more. Then, surprise your foes by boosting your castle’s defenses with fearsome fire cannons, spike traps and other surprises. The more enemies perish in your castle, the higher the reward.
  • Variety of Heroes: The outlandish world of Opulencia has an eccentric cast of characters ranging from the knight, Sir Painhammer, a good-natured tough guy to Blackeye Bowgart, an archer with a chip on his shoulder. More will be available in the near future.
  • Character Customization: Plain armor is out this season, shiny metal is in. Use your well-earned gold to shop and customize and level up your heroes in style.
  • Showboating: Think you are the baddest of the bad in all of Opulencia? Prove it by creating different challenges for your foes and compare yourself on the leaderboards.
  • Intense Action: Play on your own schedule. Short sessions means you can play when you want to. It also doesn’t hurt to have others playing at the same time, but you don’t need them playing simultaneously to experience looting at its best.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows XP SP3
    • Processor: 3.00 Ghz Intel Pentium IV or equivalent processor
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Graphics: DirectX 9 compliant Video Card with at least 256 MB of memory
    • DirectX: Version 9.0
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Hard Drive: 600 MB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card
    • Additional Notes: The minimum configuration is currently higher than what it might be when the development is complete. Please understand that the current version is work in progress and is not yet optimized.

Not recommended.

The game initially seemed like a fresh, polished retake on dungeon defender, with new troops and abilities to complete.

However I quickly realized that (1) the content for this game is limited. Basically it's a minigame where you mix a few dungeons together & always grind the same content over and over. (2) Drop rates are low for materials (3) Variety in defensive troops is really, reallylow.

Also, (4) the dungeons are flat and shallow. You could do so much more with layered traps, timed traps, and key-and-lock timed traps to name a few. The dungeon building is shallow.

(5) Characters and abilities are not balanced. Some need more armor, some need less damage.

Overall I'm glad to stop playing. 3/10.

FIRST, this game isn't THAT P2W as most people claim it to be... in truth, the game is more horribly unbalanced and so makes it seem it's P2W.
How? the monster you can craft towards mid/endgame get stronger (yes, plain STRONGER! and you can upgrade their lvl to get even stronger), also some layouts hide some traps better then others. also for some reason i feel that toward around lvl 25 the player's castles either feel overpowerd (be it stacking high DPS monsters with shieldmonsters creating a deathtrap only a few lucky players will overcome, or just making an insanely big castle wich makes the player run around losing time)

for this the game starts to lose the fun factor of creating and raiding other people's castles and turns into a search for doable castles to farm gold to upgrade your castle and join in with the clusterf*ck castlebuilders. you can say "but you need to validate/beat your own castle" and offcourse you do. i build my castle and i know HOW to bypass my traps wich monsters are where and HOW i can lure them out to pick 'm off one by one. i also look at replays to see what killed/failed to kill the other players.

so how to fix this P2W problem? imho realy easy actualy, the base is good the way it is. but it needs balancing! (x amount of monster x per room/castle, x amount of traps, some traps can not be use to create unavoidable pure deathtraps, etc.)
and for people allready playing this game i can allready here you say "but, but, but! they can buy actual monsters!" and indeed you can! does this help you in any way? not realy! :D howcome? i bought the haloween pack (in any F2P game i like to play i buy something to support the devs, simple reason) and i allready owned all the monsters! :D hell i was only playing 3 days and i could allready craft some of them hehe.

on with the review

you like diablo 2 (there is no D3!) and like to make your own (small) map for others to enjoy/hate/get frustrated about/etc?

pick this up :) 3 nice classes (4 if you get the DLC) a LOT of diffrent maps (bossfight, usermade and NPC maps)
and if somebody tells you this game is P2W... ignore the fool! (yes i bought the 4th class) i see nothing you can buy with real money you can't get through playing the game. sure it's faster... but also pretty boring and beats the fun of playing.

pro's
- user generated maps + NPC maps + boss maps
- 3 (4) good classes (wich for me all have their uses)
- allthough people say it's P2W, it ISN'T! the game can be played without even putting in any money (you just need to L2p)
- you can create your own castle and build it's defence (for others to beat or die trying!)
- more diablo then D3!

cons
- no ingame key remap (you can edit the config in the game folder)
- no hud lock
- lack of directional keys (ok, most Arpg's don't have it. but still won't hurt to have it. like van helsing)
- feels P2W at higher lvl's
- huge lack of balance
- anything goes... (create a castle with a LOT of diffrent empty halls and people will fail to get a 3* raid)

those are for me the best and worst parts for the game :) sure it needs a lot of balance in the create your castle/monster section (impossible to beat traps, empty hallways leading to nothing making you waste valuable time, overpowerd monster stacking, etc.)

other then that i don't think i can say anything wrong about this game, it's fun! :) it could realy use some developer love (again, balancing this game is CRUCIAL if they want this game to survice)

Its great if you focus either attacking or defending. You don't get much money from doing the one thing that will get you money and it will go very quickly if you try to upgrade your hero or your defences. You cannot effectively do both. Also if you do not upgrade your defences you will get robbed.

Very very very fun game if you like strategy games and adventure type of games. I thought at first it was going to be very bad but in the tutorial I got hooked on it. I suggest if you like adventurey, comedic, strategy games with a hack-n-slash feel this is for you.

Знаете, когда порой тянет поиграть во что-то этакое, насобирать лута, поубивать врагов, то эта игра весьма достойная. Очень понравилось в свое время в нее поиграть, через некоторое время тянет еще и еще, стоит только попробовать.

At first I liked the game. I thought that the idea of testing my skills against other people would be fun. Until I realized that every single person builds the same trap to defeat players. If you don't know they just build spring traps into fire traps then swarm you with mobs. If your the runnaway it's not that big of a deal if you have the time to get a sheild up. If you were the archer for example kiss your ♥♥♥ good bye. Also all the pay to win items that you can buy to instantly get all the mobs and traps you want, so when you walking into a paying players castle you know. Then they came out with the big update that just made me go WHAT THE F***. They changed the mana system but didnt change the costs or associated skills, so all the old over powered champs suck and the archer is now one of the best WTF. Oh and just cause you add lots of flashing text and speed up game play doesn't make it more fun to play.

I put 150 hours into this game only to find out there are extreme limits to what you can do. They took away features such as attacking friends castles infinitely just because they wanted to to be able to get loot from your friends. The defence system now is all bugged out thanks to the new trap "defense" cap. Another big issue that still plays the game to this day is repeat castles. People just can't seem to add variety because they add pay to win options through some of the mobs that are "limited time only" purchases. Some of those said purchases require you to buy a booster pack to get a chance at it coming from the booster or you can play 50 hours of the game and maybe see that item drop.

Now this isn't to say the game is entirely bad. The game itself has a very good dungeon keeper esc. game that allows you to attack friends "dungeons" and have them attack yours. The loots system i wouldn't say is entirely broken as they did fix alot, but don't ever pass up a "Farm" if you see one. This game is a game that's a I'll come back to it if I'm bored and just nothing else sounds good kind of game.

Every game has it's ups and downs, but this one i found personally to have more downs. Play it for yourself and then judge it. I will say i loved it at one point, but maybe i was too hyped about it form a convention that i played it at when it was in alpha i don't know.
