About This Game

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a brand new game from Ubisoft Montreal that thrusts you in an outrageous medieval fantasy world called Opulencia where wealth, status and showboating are the name of the game!

As a newcomer to Opulencia, you will hack n slash your way through hundreds of castles designed by the ingenious minds of your fellow players!

Don’t forget to show them who’s boss by constructing deadly keep of your very own – in this kingdom, size really does matter!

Key Features

  • Castle Looting: Prepare your hero for battle and charge into one of many player-created castles to test your skills and might! Oh yeah, and don’t forget all the loot and gold waiting for you in the treasure room at the end of the castle.
  • Castle Defense: Protect your treasure from the greedy hands of your neighbors. You and your friends can build custom castles with majestic rooms and fill them with deadly monsters like fire-breathing dragons, nose-picking Cyclopes, swarming vampires and more. Then, surprise your foes by boosting your castle’s defenses with fearsome fire cannons, spike traps and other surprises. The more enemies perish in your castle, the higher the reward.
  • Variety of Heroes: The outlandish world of Opulencia has an eccentric cast of characters ranging from the knight, Sir Painhammer, a good-natured tough guy to Blackeye Bowgart, an archer with a chip on his shoulder. More will be available in the near future.
  • Character Customization: Plain armor is out this season, shiny metal is in. Use your well-earned gold to shop and customize and level up your heroes in style.
  • Showboating: Think you are the baddest of the bad in all of Opulencia? Prove it by creating different challenges for your foes and compare yourself on the leaderboards.
  • Intense Action: Play on your own schedule. Short sessions means you can play when you want to. It also doesn’t hurt to have others playing at the same time, but you don’t need them playing simultaneously to experience looting at its best.

System Requirements

I have a played this game a lot.
I can confirm that most negative comments are mostly spot on.
Looking at the game from a free-to-play perspective I can still say that the game is very entertaining.
I guess the reason most people stopped playing is because the game practically forces you to either spend some money or grind for weeks when you are higher level.

The game is amazingly very original. It has a diablo-esque feel to it and the fact you can make your own castle is great and really a lot of fun.
It stops being fun however when you spend hours on making your castle safe only to see a Pay-to-Play character barge in and overcome your obestacles with ease.
It becomes even less fun when you attack someone's castle and you find yourself absolutely unable to survive because that person has spent money on the game getting items and defences you could never obtain.
The balance of the game is really distorted because of that.

However, to anyone that is looking for a fun game to play for a while and who is looking for something that is really original I must recommend this game.
Yes the game is unbalanced but it IS a lot of fun nonetheless.

If I had to give the game a score I would like to give it 2 seperate ones.

A solid 9/10 for the gameplay, concept and overall feel of the game.
And a solid 3/10 because the game has so much potential, yet doesn't live up to it at all.

So everything added up I'd say it's a solid 6/10.
You are most likely to really enjoy the game, but also be dissapointed to see it has so much more potential.

durring Beta, this game was grindy, but playable. Castles needed some work and carful balancing due to the competative nature of the leaderboards. This company lacked that skill, and in turn drove away players. Come release, the game became pay to win, to increase their profits, while only drove more away. now all that is left is a hollow shell of a game that has been micro transactioned into a pay to wait game.

Excuse me, BUT WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THIS GAME WHILE I WAS GONE!? I remember playing this in beta, (non-steam) and it was fun as all hell. Now, there's a ton of microtransactions which are way more then your ingame bank is worth, and then there's the infinite pack. Don't even get me started. ♥♥♥♥ you, Ubisoft. You ruined one of my favorite games.

I played this game since ALPHA and played trought the BETA untill the game officialy launced.
Since then i quit playing. Reason why:

They suddenly worked with a new "craft" like system where you need parts 'n collect stuff to create new items 'n stuff.
Since i was at a very high level, i had NONE.

I send a ticket to the support, telling them i was a founder and even payed for a pack, they said: Well we cant help you with that.
So... this game is build on founders and now they say: F*ck You!

Im a true ubisoft fan, but this game is a no go.

A great game that has sadly fallen to the PAY TO WIN habits, all curtsey of Ubisoft.

The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot is a Diablo/Dungeon Keeper style game that worked VERY well back when it was only a BETA. The idea of creating your castle/dungeon, placing traps and monsters to protect your loot and kill any players that wished to raid your castle. Sounds like the perfect game for a good time right?!

Well it was...

I originally bought this game for $20, the Founder Edition, which gave me access to the Closed Beta, 15k gems for purchases (which at the time was nothing), special Founders Pack costumes, special costumes that were part of being in the Closed Beta, and a couple of special gear/items/traps/monsters/bosses that required a very high level to use. I played a good chunk of it and had a blast playing it. After awhile though I had got bored and quit playing, deciding that down the road later I'd give it a try.

Well after almost 2 years I came back, and god damn did Ubisoft f*** this game up! Not only was I missing stuff, but they changed the game SO much that all of my stuff changed (for better and for worse.) The most noticeable change was that EVERYTHING can be bought with Gems. They added in so many more crafting materials to make everything it's not even funny, and most of them don't drop very often. I tried to see how much I could craft without purchasing any crafting packs, and I barely collected any resources, and could only craft a few basic monsters. So in the name of Science, I purchased the biggest pack of crafting resources you could, cause you know I have 12k just laying around doing nothing, and surprise you only get a few rare and legendary crafting materials... But not enough to craft my high end special bosses.

I want to point out, Free Users will get f***ed over easily. Crafting costs become insane real fast. From what I can tell, free users can only hold a maximum of 2000 gold, and at lvl 10 all gear becomes way more than that.

Oh, and here is another fun tib bit. Somewhere in between me quitting 2 years ago and playing it again, my entire castle got wiped of it's traps/monsters and was left empty but 1 chicken placed in it. And the best part is?! I LOST ALL OF THEM! I did not get any of those monsters or traps back, they were not placed into my inventory, they were straight up deleted. I had a bunch of extra monsters, traps, and rooms in my inventory, and every single one of them was gone, so the game was forcing me to BUY every single one of them again, including my super expensive boss monsters. G f***ing G Ubisoft!

So congratulations Ubisoft! You ruined a great game once again! This is why I don't buy games from you anymore.

just going to say its a shame all the complaints and im adding to the list. i enjoyed the few hours i put into it quite some time ago but the heavy need to load up on pay walls i must give in to and leave my mark so that hopefully companies learn their lesson. I understand needing cash for work done but this game should at most run 20 something dollars for a full game as akin to dungeon defenders or orcs must die. the cash struggle here is real beyond the 322.89 dollars you can pay out for the dlc's up above!!! with that much money i could buy 50 good games here on steam rate them better than whats going on here!!!

I give this game a 3/7... Heres why.

1) I played the beta, and the minion shop was good... now its steem item that most of the "good" minions are eather expensive in RL money or just out of range of casual players .
(Or might not I've stoped playing since the launch because thats when they did that swich.)

2) All minions that I had from Beta where deleted and I've never got them back... but I was fine with that, till #1 made me Rage quit.

3) It's be came mostly Pay-to-win, (They my have added new options since I've quit) The best items rather it be Minions, Traps, Or even the peaces/Upgrades for your doungeon, are all more or less for sale for RL money.

4) Equips... most of it can be found in Another's doungeon. The PvE doungeons where scaled properly in beta, but are now more "Come back @lv30" for a lv10 PvE Doungeon. Also, Drops for your Starting Toon have become MUCH less frequent which is one of the few resons why its a 3 and not a 2. (This too could have bin changed since I've quit)

Some of you might be confused at why my scale only gos up to 7... This is due to the odd number makeing so that there can be a middle ground, a place where good can balance the bad. And for the fact that 1 is lowest in my scale.

*Sorry for any spelling errors or misplaced CAPS, And feel free to completly dis-reguard thisreview if you disagree. But if you DO disagree put "Filthy Casual" in the comments below. Yes I care, Yes im casual, And yes i whant to know what YOU think.*
