Glory to Arstotzka

The communist state of Arstotzka has just ended a 6-year war with neighboring Kolechia and reclaimed its rightful half of the border town, Grestin.

Your job as immigration inspector is to control the flow of people entering the Arstotzkan side of Grestin from Kolechia. Among the throngs of immigrants and visitors looking for work are hidden smugglers, spies, and terrorists.

Using only the documents provided by travelers and the Ministry of Admission's primitive inspect, search, and fingerprint systems you must decide who can enter Arstotzka and who will be turned away or arrested.

Fantastic game, gritty and realistic, does an extremely good job at making you believe the world you're put into. Reasonably challenging but fair, and the multiple endings are a nice touch. 9/10 for me, perfect for its price.

Paper Please is a well made and catchy game. The story mode is funny and comic, the difficulty level grow progressively during the game and the soundtrack is catchy. At the beginning you just have to check 1 or 2 things on the passport, and in the end you will check something like 6-7 things and its pretty damn easy to forgot looking at one of these. At the end I was like forcing me to finish it because it became a little bit repetitve, but overall it's a good game for the price I've paid for it (3.50 euro). My final mark is 8/10

GLORY TO ARSTOZKA (Even if I dont have a clue where it is :(. )

Although this may not SOUND like an intriguing and fun concept, it really is. With the help of great graphics catchy and fitting music as well as an engaging and exciting storyline with 20 endings, this is a really good game; and affordable too! Loved it!

Bureaucracy has never been this much fun!

This game should be boring as hell, but it's not. A mix of evolving, challenging gameplay and creative story-telling keeps you addicted enough to get through one more in Glorious Arstotzka.

Papers, Please is a testament to the power of games as a medium. It manages to be, all at once, an intellectual stimulation, an escape from reality, and social commentary. It is art, entertainment and work rolled into one. As the player, you are presented with a task that is very much like a lot of paper-pushing jobs out there. Yet here it becomes an intellectual challenge; a test of your mettle and attention. And somehow it is still fun. This is quite an accomplishment in terms of gameplay.

The story, meanwhile, is at once Orwellian and Kafkaesque. It is a kind of social commentary, but not on-the-nose; it is subtle, humourous, nuanced. The recurring characters, with very brief screen time, manage to be interesting and memorable. The Soviet aesthetic is superbly done in terms of design and graphics. The mechanics can be constraining sometimes, but that's part of its charm and challenge.

Above all, this is a game that is sui generis, its own beast. There are games with similar micromanagement mechanics, but the aesthetic and the pacing of Papers, Please make it unique.

Is it ugly to look at? Too be honest, yes. Is it depressing to play? Hell ye. Does it feel like a real job? As much as it can.

But... The setting, the story, the originilaty, the atmosphere, the decisions, the suspense - that all makes it worth your time.

Really amazing and fun Indie typish game, The game is very easy to play and learn, it will get harder tho the more days you make but that doesn't really matter because it is easy to learn it and use the new things, also this game has some parts where there are people coming to ur booth and asking u to do them a favor or etc. or let them pass etc. and its up to you to make the decision to let them pass and risk getting a strike or deny them, this game gets ur feelings tho, because some choices are hard.

But anyways i would highly recommend this game :)!, REALLY FUN and AMAZING :)! Definitely worth Playing.

Papers, Please is simply an amazing game. The graphics style is very good at capturing the ambiance of the late Cold War era in the USSR area. You become very attached to even minute characters, like a guard named Sergiu. It is extremely satisfying when you find discrepencies, but when you hear the noise of a citation, your heart wants to explode in angrivation. Nonetheless, it is a great game with humour, sadness, action, and suspense, and it is highly recommended.

This is a really good game, the concept is good, the storyline may be a little cheap,(You of all people getting accepted in a random labor lottery) and the gameplay can be dull. (Exept when there is a terrorist attack at the checkpoint >_<) But It's fun overall. Denying & Accepting people into a fictional version of Russia may sound boring, but it really isn't. Thinking of modern day? TOO BAD. This is based around 1982. From mid 1982-early 1983 (Only if you don't accept anything the EZIC order does, the checkpoint re-opens on January 1st, 1983 I believe.) You can work with a group that tries to bring down Arstotzka, Or you can be loyal to Arstotzka (GLORY GREATEST COUNTRY!!) and not go to jail and live with your family. There are certain times where you wish you could flip off the creators and throw your flaming PC at them (When you get a citation for an in-valid height...) Then there are other times when you let in the wife of a war vetren illegally. :D Over all, this is an amazing game with a good concept. The Retro feel goes really good with it, now, what's the best part of this game? Simples. ~THE MUSIC YA' DERP~
