I thought this was going to be really cool, It has amazing graphics and everything and I thought it would be more of a diablo clone, but where it really falls short is the combat system and general quests. Storyline is really not that great, and when I play I love the looks of the game but combat is just so slow and boring compared to a game like diablo, I have to contstantly switch back and forth from different enemies while they all attack me and it is just a bit too tedious. I wouldnt say its really a bad game but I dislike it slightly more than I like it.

This is second most complex game I have ever played (first being EVE Online).

This game is better than Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2 combined.

Unbeatable depth of craft, economy and character development. Great replayability. Challenging bosses. Dark graphnics that not reminds you about the fact that this is still a game.

This game does the free to play system right, and I love the amount of content stuffed into this game. Most free 2 play games are just money grabbers making it unfair to players who don't wanna spend money, well this game does not have any of that pretty much the core game is free and available to all.

The perks system is vast and very intimidating when you fist look at, but as time goes on you'll get an idea of what you want and how to get it. One of the deepest systems i have ever seen in an Free 2 play game. I give props to grinding gear games for doing this.

The graphics are really good better than most games, yet still runnable on lower end PCs. The graphics are really nice to look at.

I really enjoy the world of POE it really immerses you into the world, and each part has different look and feel to it. From the rainy beaches to vast jungles, and to City landscapes it all feels like its own world. The dungeons/Cave really sell it for me, it looks great and every dungeon isnt a copy and paste of another. Yes they have the same or simliar walls, etc, but it feels like its own dungeon at the same time.

The gems you find in the game hold different abilities, buffs, that you can equip to your equipment. There are 3 different colors for each gem and each weapon has its slots with the corresponding color. The colors are green, red, and blue. You need certain requirments for your character to have these gems. These gems also hold different abilities for your character that will determine your main aresenal of attack and buffs. Feel free to mix and match. and make your character how you want it to be.

I'd say this game is very very very good, and its worth the play if. This might even get new players into a genre of game that they might of never thought they liked. If you're looking for a solid experience and willing to grind countless hours this game is worth the play. To be honest this game should be on your list of top free 2 play games.

I would rate this game a solid 9.5/10

This game is OK, has nothing really special about it but it kinda works. The great downside is that it has one of the worst support ever, nothing gets done, even when you have PROOF that things aren't working as expected they just deny and say "everything is working as intended", they don't even waste time trying to explain to you why they "think" it's working or not, they just test your patience. I won't get into details as they're far too long for a short review, but honestly, just not worth it.
Creating a character is also a huge work, with a system that allows every player to create up to 24 characters, and even more if you purchase slots. Imagine how hard it is to find a nickname, wanna try ImsoboredIcoulddie999101? Taken.. Probably not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. So guess what, forget about your favorites, forget about your least favorites, in fact, just forget about it all and create Dumpholewtf2016may23

But, if you play this and enjoy it, pray that you never meet support.

Otherwise go play D3, or whatever.

An amazing game. Many people compare it to Diablo 3 however i do not, its far from it, and in my opinion far more supiror. This game has much more depth, the only its lacking is an overhyped company called blizzard with a brand on the front for people to say its good.
The only thing this game is really missing is WASD keys and some equiptment depth, i would love to see those impliminted.
It has a very deep lore and long questline for each of the six classes, dualist, witch, shadow, templar, marauder, and ranger.
Fully voiced npcs with unique phrases for each class and decision you make. (btw there's decision making). Probably the best skill tree iv ever seen, the idea of using gems rather than actual equipted skills is nice. Camera angles and panning is great, graphics are absurd for a free game. Large amounts of items to find and character customization. However i wish the developers where more balanced and included more items, they often become repetitive to find. Enchantments system is nice, farming is rewarding. 9 maps to explore with their own expansive details. I'd give this game two thumbs up if i could.

*Users be way if you have a weak stomach for dead bodies and guts.* (this isnt much of a problem after the first map)

Why are you even reading the reviews anyway, its a free game, just play it and find out for yourself.

This is honestly the ARPG that I never really get bored of.
I constantly tire of Diablo 3 and this game keeps you hooked 24/7.
Even with a fully juiced up/geared up character it is very easy to die on hardcore mode, much unlike diablo 3.
The skill/gem system is honestly one of the best ways to mod skills I've seen in a game before.

The game is excellent. If you like Diablo or similiar games then this will be a lot of fun.

Pros:
1. Just fun to play
2. Not class based
3. Deal tons of damage
4. Multi-player with fiends
5. Skill gems Give wide variety of skills/spells for everyone
6. Endless loot collection
7. Play how you want

Cons:
1. Lag, lag, lag. (I get booted from the game often. I live in Alabama and use the Texas server. Sometimes I have to go play something else because the lag is so bad.)

Overall though this is a good game and also it is FREE! (It is not P2W either) This alone makes me more forgiving of the lag and dropping issues.

Before I download a F2P MMO, I need to know if the game is P2W.

Path of Exile (PoE) does not sell:

Experience boosters
Item rarity/quantity boosters (increased through gear only)
Stat buffs (increased through gear/skills only)
Skill tree resets (through in-game currency only)
Cosmetic items with stats
Item quality (increased through in-game currency only)
Megaphones (global chat is open access)
DLCs (non-soundtrack)

The only items in the microtransactions (MTX) store which benefit your charactors directly are the 'currency tabs,' 'stash tabs,' and 'premium stash tabs.'

Stash tabs: Each account has access to four stash tabs by default, sufficient to reach end-game content with. No problem here.

Currency tabs: Functions as a bank. The max stack of currency items is increased (20 for orbs of alterations, for example) to 5000.

It is worth noting buying stash tabs is more bang for your buck if you don't amass lower tier currency, as currency tabs cannot contain items. For comparison, currency tabs are able to 5000 of each currency, while stash tabs are a grid of 144 boxes, each able to hold one stack of currency. Allocating one of your four default stash tabs for currency will suffice. No problem here.

Premium stash tab: Default stash tabs which can be renamed, colored, and set to public. The benefit of purchasing this tab is for the easy indexing (selling) of items.

Grinding Gear Games faced community backlash when they released the option of setting these tabs to public. Public premium stash tabs are able to be indexed by 'poe.trade', the 'auction house' of the economy. The option of indexing one's stash through the application 'Procurement,' is less efficient and not implemented as an in-game function.

If you do plan on selling items through poe.trade instead of trade chat, and index through premium stash tabs instead of 'Procurement', you buy one (4 USD), or premium a default tab (1.5 USD) and you're set.

Conclusion:

To my knowledge, this is one of the best MTX models on the market. It is worth noting you do not need to purchase the forementioned to progress and experience all of which this game has to offer. Contentwise, Path of Exile is an ARPG at the forefront of its genre. It's F2P, there's next to no reason as to why you shouldn't try it yourself instead of taking my word for it.

While I downloaded and run PoE on the official standalone client, please feel free to message me on Steam if you need help.

Path of Exile is an Free to Play online action role-playing game. The player controls a single character from an overhead perspective and explores large outdoor areas and underground caves or dungeons, battling monsters and fulfilling quests from NPCs to gain experience points and equipment. All areas aside from the central encampments are randomly generated for increased re-playability. While all players on a single server can freely mingle in encampments, gameplay outside of encampments is highly instanced, providing every player or party with an isolated map to freely explore. The game borrows heavily from the Diablo series, particularly Diablo II.

The graphics, sound, gameplay looks pretty good.

This game has led to alot of moments for me, alot of them being hilarious, whether that was me being a noob or not in the situation is a different story. I still love playing this game for the fact that there is still a ton of stuff I have yet to try. Some of my freinds have asked me advice and to be quite honest, even with 1000+ hours, I still feel like a major noob. The biggest thing I mention is, try out the silliest thing you can think of, getting rid of tradtional thoughts about character steriotypes is important I feel. I also love how with 1000 hours, the crafting system atleast for me has been always a touch out of my reach, for the challange leagues I mean. Would deffinetly reccomend to arpg fans.

I don't often write reviews for games. But this game needs it. I installed it a long time ago when it released and played 10 hours or so and said "This game is to indepth for me" and moved on. I came back a few months ago after being burnt out on games like Diablo 3, Torchlight *insert any ARPG besides Grim dawn*. Path of Exile is extreme, its not noob friendly, its hard, builds take time, currency takes time to get, some builds are only viable upon certain rare items, that you either have to pray to RNG jesus for drops or trade for, and they are expensive. And some takes days if not weeks of farming to obtain. That being said, i've never found a game that offers more build variation and replayability than POE. Its a steep learning curve, but its incredibly worth it. This game destroys any other game in its genre. I've played 60+ hours, not sure what my steam time says atm, and have found only a few rares. In diablo 3, rares rain down upon the noobs. The sense of joy and accomplishment when you get a rare drop is almost drug like. This game has revolutionized the ARPG genre IMO. Its almost perfect.

So TLDR

If you can can be patient and look up youtube videos, and how to play guides (Since this game has almost zero tutorial on anything), learn from the forums and reddit, learn from your deaths, you will be rewarded with a incredibly well designed game with almost endless replay value, and a type of atmosphere i've never found in any other game of its kind. If you wanted you could develop your character over year of gameplay just trying to min max things.

One of the best realizations of F2P ever. An amazing game, with a constant stream of new content and regular improvements in performance.

If you ever enjoyed Diablo, Titan Quest or Torchlight, don't even think twice and try this out. If you are feeling overwhelmed check out the forums and /r/pathofexile , the community is very helpful.

Lastly, give Hardcore a chance.

Path of Exile is the best free game there is. Not free as in "I got this game for free to review.", just free. I've never gotten a game free to review, and I don't think I would want to anyway. I mean, even though people say it has no influence over their review, can that be possible? Not if you're a parent, that's for sure.

Parents will know quite well the feeling. You kid comes home from kindergarten with a picture they drew. "Look, I drew our house!" they exclaim, holding out a drawing that resembles the house in the way Taco Bell resembles food. But while you're wondering if it was possible the Zika virus was around when your child was born, you don't tell them that they have the artistic ability of a blind baboon, you simply say "That's lovely!" and hang it on the refrigerator next to the twenty other incoherent scribblings they have produced this month.

That's the sort of pressure I would feel when reviewing a free copy of a game, but Path of Exile has no need for such shenanigans, it's a totally free ARPG with character customization so detailed that you will just go on the forums and find a build to use.

Path of Exile is best summed up as Diablo on steroids, but then it gets banned for using performance-enhancing drugs and goes out and starts its own league, becoming even more successful than it was before. Well, that's my opinion anyway, and I did get the game for free, but then again, so can you.

★★★☆☆

This game has amazing systems backing it. FF7's Materia, FF10's Sphere Grid, Diablo style ARPG gameplay, and fitting graphics. But that core gameplay isn't balanced properly to be entertaining, rewarding, or replayable. Vast majority of enemies die in a single hit, classes (which mostly just effect your starting position on the Sphere Grid), are gender locked, with no character customization, and gear hardly changes your looks either, unless you grab the pay2vanity items. On the fence about recommending, but I figure a Yes since its free to try, with acceptable vanity-only microtransactions. If this game was buy2play or pay2win, I would probably drop it to 2stars and not-recommended.
