About This Game

You are an Exile, struggling to survive on the dark continent of Wraeclast, as you fight to earn power that will allow you to exact your revenge against those who wronged you. Created by hardcore gamers, Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in a dark fantasy world. With a focus on visceral action combat, powerful items and deep character customization, Path of Exile is completely free and will never be pay-to-win.

As you explore deeper into Wraeclast, the pool of available variations increases to challenge you in new ways. All of the Missions and their variations can occur anywhere in the game, including within end-game Maps.

As I approach 1,000 hours...

This game deserves a review.

I have spent easily $200+ on microtransaction aesthetic content for this game.

BECAUSE IT"S THAT ♥♥♥♥♥ING AMAZING.

I probably played about 500 hours before I even got to true end-game content.

I still havent come close to building every unique character type I would want to yet.

I don't think that would be possible given ANY amount of time.

If you're reading this and haven't tried this game yet, you're DOING IT WRONG.

Play this game. Now.

If you enjoyed the Diablo franchise (not Diablo 3), torchlight, Grimm dawn, etc... then you'd definately love this game, the end game content is incredible, customization is as good as Diablo 2 and also the trading is just... in one word awesome

I played beta for a while, then I had a long break. When I came back, the game started to make more and more sense and was tons of fun. First I played some SOFTCORE characters, but then I found the real hook, HARDCORE. After that I have been playing atleast few characters after every content update.

Some features are still overwhelming for me and that is something I can easily appreciate in games. Steep learning curve, tons of possibilities for character builds. To me this is a dream come true. A Diablo II + Torchlight II and its mods + some new thinking. I have had amazing time and bitter defeats in HC. Some day, I will have level 90+ character in challenge league without too much copying the flavor of the season builds.

Until that day, DEATH to all mortals!

After almost 600 hours into the game, i felt like making a review.

The core game is awesome, sluggish at start but really picks up mid and late game.
RNG can be frustrating but rewarding as well, but it will be frustrating more than satisfying.
Items are decently balanced, some are OP and get nerfed into the ground, or are nerfed in a way to make them impossible to play in some builds that made them OP.
Costumization isnt great, once you buy points which are not that cheap, you get options to costumize your character. Other way to get cosmetics is by completing the challenges in challenge leagues.
And if you wont a full game expirience, you have to spend your money on stash tabs. HAVE TO. You cant be serious trader or a trader to begin with if you dont own 4-5 stash tabs extra.
Economy isnt very good, its capitalism at its best, and thievery at its worst. Late game is impossible if you dont have plenty of currency to spare, especially for maps.

Overall, good game. For the price of nothing, you get everything. Of corse, that everything isnt enough for hardcore and more expirienced players, but for newer and more casual players its good enough.

8/10, Give it a go!

Hi, young female here with 0 gaming experience before this game. My husband is a huge PC gamer and really wanted me to take interest in it. This is the first game I ever looked into and I.LOVE.IT! I downloaded it when it first became available a few years ago and played it all the time. I took a bit of a hiatus after starting D3, but always came back to this game. I still play it to this day and it just gets better and better. I've gotten my husband interested in it, as well. I'm sorry my review isn't very informative, but I'm not an expert in these things. I just know that this game is super fun, has a great storyline, and is for everyone. I definitely recommend!

Have you ever thought "Man I love diablo, but 3 kinda sucked compared to 2" well then this game is for you! It feels so much like diablo it's insane, but has SO much more to offer!
Ontop of it being a great mmorpg with tons of people playing, it has character building none of us could have dreamed of. I mean the passive skill tree alone is MASSIVE, easily the biggest i've ever or will ever see. The amount of different character builds and skills you have to mess around with alone will leave you with hours and hours of entertainment. You'll be remaking and creating new characters for months the combinations are endless, on top of the constant updates and expansions this game will consume your very life.

What are you waiting for, there's a world in here... and they need your help.

This game reminds me so much of all the goodness in Diablo 2. So what has this extra to offer?
Well, first it's not set in the graphics of the Blizzard universe which makes it quite refreshing, both literally and figuratively speaking. There is no gold and the concept of 'weapon value' has been dropped. So what's important? the gems. They give power and magic and they grow as you advance. They can be resocketed and thereby not lost after first use. The skill tree is very impressive which allows your character to evolve to become very unique. Much of the magic is known but there are plenty new tricks and moves (and totems and prophecies). For a free game very impressive. Monster bashing and fireworks to the max.
