About This Game

You are an Exile, struggling to survive on the dark continent of Wraeclast, as you fight to earn power that will allow you to exact your revenge against those who wronged you. Created by hardcore gamers, Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in a dark fantasy world. With a focus on visceral action combat, powerful items and deep character customization, Path of Exile is completely free and will never be pay-to-win.

Key Features

  • Freedom. Power. Revenge.
Banished for your misdeeds to the dark, brutal world of Wraeclast, you play as the Duelist, Witch, Ranger, Templar, Marauder, Shadow or the Scion class. From forsaken shores through to the ruined city of Sarn, explore Wraeclast and uncover the ancient secrets waiting for you.
  • Unlimited Character Customization
Create and customize hundreds of unique skill combinations from tradable itemized gems and our gigantic passive skill tree. Combine skill gems, support gems and trigger gems to create your own unique combination of power, defense and destruction.
  • Deadly Missions
The Forsaken Masters each have their own style of mission and each of these missions has many variations. As you explore deeper into Wraeclast, the pool of available variations increases to challenge you in new ways. All of the Missions and their variations can occur anywhere in the game, including within end-game Maps.
  • Dressed to Kill
Path of Exile is all about items. Find, collect and trade magic, rare and unique items with arcane properties, then customize your character build around the deadliest combinations you possess.
  • Brutal Competitive Play
Battle in PvP tournaments seasons and Capture the Flag events for worldwide recognition. Compete in Daily Leagues and Race Events that run as separate game worlds with their own ladders and economies to win valuable prizes.
  • Customise Your Hideout
In their extensive travels throughout Wraeclast, the Forsaken Masters have discovered ideal locations for an Exile to use as their own secret Hideout. Once you've earned a Master's trust, you may be taken to a Hideout, where you can create your own personalised town. Masters residing in your Hideout offer you daily Missions and train you in advanced crafting options. Use your Hideout as a quiet place to craft after battle, or expand it and use it as a personalised Guild Hall with hundreds of decorations.

It is rare to find a Free-to-Play game that ends up Free-to-Enjoy. Path of Exile is not only available to people of all wallet sizes, it ultimately manages to best it's AAA compettitors.
Diablo 3 is dead.
Long live the new king.

Its a good co-op or solo fantasy game. It has a interesting story with fun campaigns (goals). Has great and creative enemies throughout the game. Its a fun and addictive game couldn't stop playing when I first downloaded it. If you like a fantasy game with elements, swords, archery and more of your typical fantasy game then I think this game would be for you.

As a goatman I am offended they would name one of us as a 'bearded devil'. Where do you get off GrindingGearGames referring to my people as bearded devils? At what point did you think this would be okay?

I am offended and appauled, but I did enjoy the brutal gore that this game has offered. I would play game the again despite stereotyping goatmen as bearded devils.

What you see is what you get. I had a lot of fun, however the storyline was a bit vague when all you want to do is level up and beat ♥♥♥♥ up. The thing they call you, a "exile," gets really boring to hear since the word is so common throught the game. I still reccomend this game because of its risk/reward system that is simillar to Diablo (they are both made by blizzard so..) If you like grinding exp and doing quests, and trying challenges with awesome skills, then this game is yours. Be warned that good skills dont come until you really dedicate yourself. 7/10 Have fun!

From the small amount of time that i have played this game, I cant get enough, too addicting, in fact its so addicting that I havnt showered in 2 days and the my family has disowned me, but hey I aint complaining, no stupid nagging for me.
And to be honest i have spent quite a fair amount of money on this game, some of the armour affects and whatnot are sweet.
No more money for me, i cant even afford to pay my board anymore

Woops, I didn't write a review on this one?
Thus I, too, am to blame this gem didn't/doesn't get the audience it deserves.
Yes, I also don't trust Free-to-Play games. I don't like the business model and I don't like the way their gameplay mechanics function.
This, however, is one of the few games which are TRUELY free-to-play. This game is so fair you almost feel bad if you don't pay anything (maybe that's how they get you to spend your money... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s!). The things you can buy are purely decorative except for cheap extra space in your item chest (but it's already so big you don't even need it if you just play through the game once or twice).
So yeah, what you get absolutely for free here is a full game and there's nothing that feels cheap about it. It does have a rather classical feel, though. Actually, this is the only other game which gave me that Diablo II feeling. It's not the same and Path of Exile has a lot of good gameplay ideas and a whole fantasy world of its own, so don't expect a clone.
It's been a while now that I've played through it and I cannot really point out any details about what I liked especially and what bothered me, but I do remember I had a good time with this and if you liked Diablo II you should really give this one a try.
Because it has had some big updates and new content since I've stopped playing I might pick it up again soon. Maybe playing alongside you guys because co-op playing works quite well also :)

I've been playing Poe since the beta, and i must say its by far one of the best games i've played in my life. The graphics are gorgeous, the game mechanics are perfect, the main history awesome, and the developers always work to satisfy the players. I would recommend this game with my eyes closed.

Path of Exile is everything and much much more than you'd expect in the average dungeon crawler. It has all the best aspects from competing titles, and does it so well. The community is very helpful and they never bad mouth a person asking a simple question. Would play over Diablo III anyday 8.8/10
