FOR BATTLEBLOCK THEATER
Battleblock Theater is an amazing game developed by amazing developers. It is challenging for hardcore players (via insane mode and some of Furbottom's Features) while also being a good casual couch game for friends and family. The co-op meets even at the level of Portal 2, (but does NOT exceed it, Portal 2 is the best) and the narrator, Will Stamper, is absolutely hilarious. I had quite a few laughs during the cinematics. All in all, Battleblock Theater is one of the best out there. I suggest it for anyone and everyone.

If you do enjoy it, check out Castle Crashers, a 2D side scroller indie made by the same developer,
The Behemoth.

BattleBlock Theater

Introduction
BattleBlock Theatre A comedic 2D platformer developed by The Behemoth (Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid) BBT Features 80+ levels each with its own twists and turns, not to mention a level editor and workshop support that is bound to keep you entertained for hours upon end. There is hardly a dull moment while playing BattleBlock Theatre its many different enemies and puzzles always make sure the player is focused and thinking. Also, keep an eye out for collectables (gems and yarn balls) once you have enough obtained you can redeem them for weapons and heads, which can be applied to your character to give a unique look, whether it’s an explosive frog that hunts down enemies or a five eyed “centipete”. Playing co-op in this game is guaranteed to be hilarious and fun, each level is remade just for co-op, adding ledges that requires your friend to throw you towards it, and of course throwing your friends to their deaths...

Gameplay
BattleBlock Theatre plays like most platformers, Jump, Double Jump, Wall slide, Attack. However, the movement system rarely feels repetitive, it also features full controller support. Moving around the stages feels responsive and fast. Its combat system is at times boring, you can kill enemies (Or in most cases friends) with simple punches, kicks or previously mentioned weapons. Combat will a lot of the time result in random button-mashing. You can compete with your friends in Behemoths take of Basketball, King of the hill, Golden whale, and many other modes. When there’s no friends around there is always online play, time trials and the glorious level editor. Tools in the level editor are robust, easy to use and definitely has a sense of achievement when you get your friends to try out your creations. The AI is at times quite dumb, and provide little challenge. Controls are simple and has the option to remap to your specific likes.

Graphics
BattleBlock Theatre’s graphics are great, It’s amazing that Dan Paladin was able to create a world in such detail with only a pencil (that’s right, all hand drawn graphics and animations). The game’s art style is cartoony and funny, BBT has smooth animations, everything looks nice and crisp. It seems like all the art was done on a small resolution and later upscaled so i would recommend playing windowed on 1280x720 which will also increase the frame rate, playing with V-sync on will also make the game look better in fullscreen mode.

Sound
BattleBlock Theater has an amazing soundtrack, possibly the best out of any game i have played. every song sounds funky and goes great with BBT’s art style, The narrator is hilarious and at times the backbone to my enjoyment, Much of the humour revolves around poops and farts, but to the immaturity in all of us, you’ll laugh. Throughout the whole game the developers are trying to make you laugh and they definitely achieve that. The games sounds are all unique and also go great with the art style.

Conclusion
BattleBlock Theater is definitely an amazing game, Its multiplayer is the stand out feature and if you play with friends it will be an amazing experience for sure. It is well worth the price ($14.99 USD) It also has Steam achievements and Trading cards for you to collect. BBT has a ton of replay value and getting A++ in every level will surely take you a long time, Overall it is one of the best platformers i have ever played and i highly recommend this if you enjoy platformers and endless fun, 9/10

Battleblock Theatre brought to us by the fantastic devs at The Behemoth.
This, along with castle crashers, has been a great multiplayer experience and has a huge amount of replayability.
This game consists of you making your way through trap filled levels, collecting gems and killing enemies, you can colllect in-game cosmetics which are rather cute (ive aquired a few) and the end game "Boss Level" is very entertaining and can provide a fair challenge.
I would definitely recommend the game but i feel the price tag is a little large for what your getting if im to be honest.

Overall Verdict: 8.5/10
Very fun experience and even better with friends.
