Pros:
-The Hunted gamemode is great fun to come back to every once in a while
-One of the funnest games to be played with friends

Cons:
-Every other gamemode can't compare to Hunted
-The devs have seemed to abandon the game
-The game is dead

If the devs ever come back then I would recommend this game

I remember watching Contagion's trailer and how it looked like is was going to be an awesome game. After it released and reviews weren't that favorable, I waited and picked it up in a bundle. Its not a bad game, but the trailer made it look like something more than it is and that's disappointing. I wish it had an actual story as the trailer looked to have. The gameplay is like every other generic FPS except with zombies, but it isn't that good. The controls aren't as responsive as they should be, graphics/animations are just ok and the sounds are well, not that great either. I wish that I could recommend, but Contagion just isn't worth your time or money.

Bought this on a sale due to hype. I wish I hadn't. Get No More Room in Hell, a free mod, this one doesn't do anything that doesn't.

I first played Contagion way back in Early Access, and while it was a decent game then, it definitely needed work. I then went a very long time without playing it, and recently decided to try it out again. I came back not expecting much to have changed. However, it has become a very enjoyable game, with several different and fun gamemodes, splitscreen multiplayer, and steam workshop integration. While I rarely buy games that are not on sale, this is one that I can actually say is worth the full price.

Great game with many Coop and PvP modes. Ammo is scarce, teamplay essential and the atmosphere is often very tense! You can play on public servers or host your own server. Mods allow new maps, weapon skins and other things. It has a lot in common with "No more room in hell" which is good and free but Contagion is a much, much more polished game while "No more room in hell" more feels like a mod.

TL;DR Only recommending if you have friends to play with, otherwise it's boring/dead (no pun intended)

Contagion is a Zombie survival game with an emphisis on gunplay and spooky areas. The game itself plays very well, and is actually pretty fun. It contains many different modes which I will further go into detail now

Players must work together to complete all the objectives and escape. Objectives, items, and pathing are random, so each play through is different. Any survivors that lose their life along the way will return as infected and must eliminate the remaining survivors before they complete the objectives and escape. This is esentially the story mode, as there are some events that happen and much of it is scripted.

This is a PvP game mode where the last survivor standing is the champion. Supplies are scattered throughout the map randomly. On death, much like Escape, you turn into a zombie with the goal of killing all other players.

Players must work together to protect civilians and help them escape once the rescue vehicle arrives. Once you approach the location of the civs, zombies will start hording around the house. You must use the supplies at the location to defend yourselves from the zombies until the rescue vehicle arrives.

Escape is my favorite gamemode because it has the most story!
