Eight Ball Deluxe™ has just been released for iOS, Google Play, Steam (Mac/Windows), Mac App Store and Amazon.

Eight Ball Deluxe™ (1980): is classic pinball with a great contemporary Western pool hall theme. Designed by George Christian and Margaret Hudson, this table, the second in the Eight Ball trilogy of tables released by Bally, was re-released in 1982 as a Limited Edition and again in 1984. This well sought after game combines a beautiful art package with deceivingly tough gameplay to create a table some consider to be the best solid state of all time. The table talks to the player, instructing them over the din of the pool hall in the background to "Quit talking and start chalking." 8,250 units of this table were produced.

Eight Ball Deluxe is rubbsih. The real table is a game of skill. In this simulation, the table is far too steep, reducing the game to a mere game of chance, as the ball goes out far to readily, and it is more or less impossile to catch the ball. Further, there is no option to control the slope.

I love pinball games, and it's quite sad to see that I don't see them as often as I used to.

Thankfully farsight studios has dedicated their time to recreate some of the most known pinball games that I played. And I do give them a huge thanks for that.

The game does plays really fine and it's good to know that they let you try a demo of their pinballs to see if you like them or not.

Although I personally prefer playing it on a tablet/iPad due to portability, this is also a good way to experience pinball.

I've played on a lot of purely software pinball games over the years and they cannot hold a light to the original arcade machines. They are either too bland or just don't 'feel' like a proper pinball and lack depth of goals and features.
With 'Pinball Arcade' we have those original arcade machines realised in full detail to take you back to, or introduce you to, those great original full featured tables that used to be in every Arcade all over the world.
Over the past few years the developers have recreated an impressive catalogue of classic machines and the choice is vast.
If you were into pinballs at all you are bound to find a few favourites in here to take you back.
The physics are excellent, the sound of each table is utterly authentic and the tables have nice crisp graphics.
This is THE pinball sim for anyone seeking out an authentic pinball experience.
I also have this on my ipad mini 2 and thats the version I play the most...

For anyone who played these tables in real life, I highly recommend. I think that it isn't as nice as it was but I am still glad it is here.

If you really love pinball it's a great little program, very faithful recreations of actual tables, however the textures on the tables are not as good as they should be. Ball physics is a little weird but there's not much you can do about that.

Unfortunately I have to give this a thumbs down because it is incredibly buggy. The UI is all kinds of messed up, sometimes you can't use the menus at all, using a gamepad to navigate the UI rarely works, and in the short time I've played several times I've hit start and the game doesn't go, it gets stuck in the table fly-by animation and I need to exit the table. Also a lot of stuff, like what the graphics settings do, what the pro features are, etc. are poorly communicated.

It's the best pinball simulation available right now, but it's a shame it lacks so much polish. Only buy a few tables you really like.

Here's the thing Farsight....
I love Pinball Arcade, I truly do. I have over 300 games on Steam of all genres, but *this* is what I keep returning to. I have every table you've released for it barring two. In your eternal battle with Zen I've defended and supported you time and time again.

Then you pull this crap on us.

Six month ago you beta'd a new UI and asked for customer feedback. And boy howdy did you receive it. Beautiful splash screens of individual pinball machines were replaced by a cluttered screenfull of muddy low res Zen-ripoff icons. Your iconic "Pinball Wizard" inspired guitar riff bgm was replaced by the actual "Pinball Wizard" track, only chopped up and looped past the point of obnoxiousness. Menu navigation became more convoluted and mouse-heavy, making things awkward and unintuitive for controller only players like me. All of these issues and so much more were pointed out to you time and again by dedicated Steam users during the Beta period.

Then this weekend, I start my favorite game on Steam to see that this UI has apparently "passed" the Beta stage, although one wouldn't know it, since *none* of the aforementined issues nor the plethora of others reported to you have been fixed. Not only that, there appears to be no way to revert to the classic, perfectly workable UI. In other words, you asked us for our opinion, pretended to listen for six months, then basically flushed our opinions down the toilet and shoved this new UI down our unsuspecting throats anyway.

This is my very first review on Steam and I hate to spend it thumbs downing one of my favorite games of all time, but that's exactly what I'm doing. You've showed what esteem you hold for your customers, Farsight, so allow us to return the favor. I hope you enjoy reaping the whirlwind you've sown over a UI that you "fixed" when it was nowhere near "broken" in the first place.
