Patch v1.04 - Cleanup Continues!

Who’s ready for some more Handyman love? Here comes another round of bug fixing, thanks to all the feedback and reports coming in from the community. You guys are awesome, and we really appreciate everyone taking the time to send in tickets, logs, and feedback threads on the forums!

Update 9/24/15: Correcting an Issue in 1.03 Patch

UPDATE 9/24/15: Thanks to the reporting since last night's patch, 1.03, we figured out that a problem in the build process had actually prevented some of the changes from going through. We have rebuilt tonight, and pushed the patch again, with the following additional changes as well:

  • Fixed the materials required for Architect armor, Engineer armor, and the Bulldozer pet.
  • Fixed another issue that could cause UI lag.
  • Increased the drop chances for the Master Brain.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the "Fun Dungeon" achievement from being set when taking the Skiff from the dungeon exit.

About the Game

Suit up as an operative of the Ark Corporation, sent to the farthest reaches of the universe in search of habitable planets to terraform. However, after the long space journey you awaken from cryosleep to find that your ship has gone way off course and is disabled near a strange new world. With no choice but to descend to the surface and figure out how to survive long enough to complete your mission, you step into the escape pod.

Along the way you’ll gather resources to craft armor, weapons, facilities, and vehicles to help you explore the world and conquer its aggressive inhabitants. Your base of operations will evolve from a few basic facilities exposed to the elements into a hardened fortress full of advanced technologies that let you accomplish amazing improvements to your equipment and alter the environment itself.

Be careful, though; almost everything down there wants to kill you, including fierce laser space sharks, artillery-toting polar bears, wickedly quick jetpack penguins, and even crazier horrors. Out on the Edge of Space, you must adapt or you die. Good luck, ArkCo Operative!

So here we are....finally at 1.0 and we still feel like we are in a beta.
The game is laggy, choppy, the sprites clip and glitch around, the physics are wonkey for gravity (shoot enemy they fly straight upwards?), it's such a mess at the start. Their idea of a tutorial involves talking to a flying shark and gathering's very dull.

I'm sad that waiting for nearly a year on this resulted in this mediocrity. Stick with terraria, this feels like a generic knock off terraria in space.

A few months ago I posted a review and didnt recommend it but I just recently played it and here's what I have to say...

-Alot more story and detail
-New items to craft
-Npcs for quests
-Lots more buildings
-The ability to blow up places with monster nests
-Lots of farming for weapons and armor
-Way to many annoying enemies everywhere
-SNAILS ARE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥S
-FROGS ARE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥S
-The normal docile crabs are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s BUT THOSE DAMN SWARM CRABS ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE
-It takes forever to reload
-Easiest way to die is falling even while using a jetpack

First off i love this game but the multiplayer system sucks if you just want to host a small server, further more I feel that they should do something lik Terraria. PLEASE DEVS USE THE TERRARIA HOSTING SYSTEM!!!

Bought this game since it first appeared in Early Acess. Played it on and off until they announced an official release date, so let's get to the details and where this game fell apart.

First, for a space exploration/craft game it's mostly about just digging down....down down and only down. The crafting menu is categorized but it's still very messy and not pretty. Explanations on how switches work with power are also few and far between so you're going to have to do your own troubleshooting for a while. There is a variety of weapons, i won't deny that, but in terms of USEFUL weapons there are only a few types which work well. So you can basically ignore all the melee and energy fueled weapons, stick to the projectile and plasma weapons. But the worst part of this game is the enemies...their hitboxes are really funky, and to make matters worse the hurt boxes on your weapons are terrible as well. So mixing hard to hit enemies with weapons that are hard to aim...great. And the movement of the enemies is particularly annoying and random. Otherwise I applaud its effort to be different but this game feels poorly done to me.
