Not gone, but a lot has been going on (That Ryhmes...)

Hey everyone. I know it's been quite a some time since we have posted or patched the game.

It's been a very complex ride after the release, and I will go more into it in another post.

What I wanted to get out there was that we are still alive and we have not just abandoned you, but there were logistical things that had to take priority.

In my next post I will ellaberate on that more directly, as I can not at the moment. But to say the least, please bare with us.

About This Game

Suit up as an operative of the Ark Corporation, sent to the farthest reaches of the universe in search of habitable planets to terraform. However, after the long space journey you awaken from cryosleep to find that your ship has gone way off course and is disabled near a strange new world. With no choice but to descend to the surface and figure out how to survive long enough to complete your mission, you step into the escape pod.

Along the way you’ll gather resources to craft armor, weapons, facilities, and vehicles to help you explore the world and conquer its aggressive inhabitants. Your base of operations will evolve from a few basic facilities exposed to the elements into a hardened fortress full of advanced technologies that let you accomplish amazing improvements to your equipment and alter the environment itself.

Be careful, though; almost everything down there wants to kill you, including fierce laser space sharks, artillery-toting polar bears, wickedly quick jetpack penguins, and even crazier horrors. Out on the Edge of Space, you must adapt or you die. Good luck, ArkCo Operative!

This game is abandoned and failed. It seems that the developers have completely given up on it, and you should too.
You should really just play terraria instead. And if you really have an itch for space terraria, there's always starbound.

When I first got the game, it was some what of a let down, don't get me wrong, the art was detailed and nice, the tutorial mission was decent for giving information (but was very boring, to me atleast) and there was some very nice potential for the game.

But, the gameplay was, and is, really quite boring, the enemies (atleast the one I found so far) aren't interesting to fight, and really are to easy (atleast i think so), the tedious grinding for materials feels bland and unrewarding, and, currently, the development for this game has died and is most likely dead in the water.

But, I do have some hope that they will fix these promblems, and that they start adding new content to the game.

I have over 100 hours into this game and I've been here since Alpha. I've played through about 3 revisions of the game, so about 40 hours or so per playthrough. The game went thru some major changes since Alpha, and even though it's not 100% finished, and hasn't gotten any updates as of lately, it was an extremely fun game to play. The fact it's unfinished really doesn't change much, as there's no main storyline, it's more of an exploration, creation, and upgrade game.

The Penguin music alone is worth the money I paid for this game while it's on sale. There's 3 completed biomes of enemies, thousands of items, I think like 45+ full sets of armor, 3 seperate lines with different attribute upgrades and abilities, and a bunch of alien techs to find that upgrade your passives.

In short I'm completely happy with my purchase. I hope they add more content in the future but I well got my moneys worth. This game in alpha felt more complete then most of the crap I buy nowadays anyways. It plays ALOT like Terraria. I have no idea why so many haters due to one biome being unfinished, but I'd totally recommend this game, especially if you like Terraria. Don't listen to the haters.

I don't understand why this game gets so much hate. Yes, the devs haven't given us an update in a long, long time, but what they left us with (a complete game, by the way) is still fun as hell. Althought a bit confusing at first, figuring things out is such a pleasant surprise, despite information on the game being vary sparse. If it's on sale, I would definitely pick up this game if I were you.

You have to be mentally impared to buy this, I only have it because it was new at the time there was no reviews so I had no way to see if was good or not.

Regretful and disappointed.
I have about eighty-four hours invested into Edge of space. (with about one third of my time in pre-release, over 404 hours in Terraria in comparison). It was exhilarating to see a game with the science-fiction setting in the genre. I wanted to like this game, but it's been a letdown overall. Exploration and expansion become quite hindered by your armor and weapons. Crafting remains over-complex and tedious. It is all too easy to sink hours looking for resources that are a little -too- scarce. Items take sometimes a half-dozen ingredients to make (which themselves take several crafting stations). In comparison to Terraria, most items take three or fewer (excluding endgame content). This game is an example of a great premise bogged down by poor development. This is one of the few games I keep trying every so often to see if they've fixed it, and so far they haven't. I'm not yet at the point where I wish I could trade or return it, but I'm not too far from that either.

Abandoned. Unfinished. Not worth it. Stick with Terraria. If you have a new itch, Starbound has better support.

The Devs decided to abandon this before finishing it. Granted, I played it quite a bit, but there's no ending. It just sort of stops.

Game is hella dead.

Shame, really, because I did find a lot of it intriguing. Half of it was okay. But not even a -75% summer sale is worth the investment. The game is as unfinished as it gets.

Dev posted in April that they'd post something soon. Lol.

I've had this game for more than a year. There are too many bugs and issues with this game to make it playable.

To top it off, it looks like they barely patch it. Save your money

-Review subject to change as the game does-

Pre review TL;DR:
It STILL needs to be polished more
get it when it releases.....oh wait it did release.....check back in a year i guess

Pros:
+Exp and upgrade system is great

+The overall concepts are really nice

+The backrounds on the biomes and the lighting change in each biome looks good

+Tons of potential

Cons:
-Melee weapons are useless

-You only need 2 or 3 weapons of the 20 or so ingame, the boomerang, the volter, and maybe a boson blaster

-The landscape (Foreground) is a mish-mash of colors

-The structures offer little to no reward and can be very out of place

-Everything that isn't shield regen improving fighter armor is basically useless (From personal experience)

-Out of vehicle you always remain sluggish and cumbersome flying around, jetpack tiers don't increase any speed horizontally or vertically (iirc)

-Combat is sluggish feeling because of jetpacks being so slowy

-Exploration is slow and unrewarding, each biome is a reskin

-Last two biomes are completely unfinished

-Multiplayer is port based and buggy

-My review is still subject to change for better or worse if the game finally updates more-

Eh. That is the one word to describe this game.

It is an ok Open-world, sandboxy game, the areas are different, the enemies are kinda cool, the boss(es? I have only seen one) is/are ok. So when you start, everything seems like it will be good...BUT this game falls short. After playing for about an hour you will be bored as hell, you have to grind a huge amount for anything, missions are stupid as they don't work very well and all armour, upgrades, etc feel the same. No weapon seems unique or fun for that matter.

This is coming from someone who has not played with friends, maybe it is a really fun multiplayer game? I don't know but If you want to/ think it looks fun then give it a try but I wouldn't recommend it too much.

I really want to like this game and recommend it, but I just can't. It has too many issues.

5/10 Fun for a short while then gets boring

This game was another shining example of how flawed early access really is.

Gameplay - 4 (gameplay is extremely clunky, boring and the whole game feels like a chore)

Graphics - 3 (This is opinion obviously but I think this game is ugly, the color pallete is not coherent)

There isn't much more to talk about, this game is meh at best, it took them way too long to get in key features like Coop and any kind of progression system and the game to this day has been abandoned with many bugs.

4/10 - Avoid like a Jehovah's Witness.
