Sniper Elite 3 continues the story of Allied sharpshooter Karl Fairburne, but switches the action from Nazi-occupied cities to the hostile terrain of war-torn North Africa.Setting the game against dusty backdrops with rocky vantage points and scattered patches of foliage gives it a different flavour to its forebears and is almost enough to differentiate the experience alone.Sniper Elite III is a big improvement over 2012's Sniper Elite V2. Its predecessor's stiff, linear gameplay has been swapped out for a more open-ended, creativity-enabling approach to stealth-shooting. But the real draw is the same - violent X-ray-vision carnage that erupts whenever your bullets meet their targets.Developer Rebellion prides itself on attention to detail. Everything from Fairburne's breathing rate to the wind resistance must be taken into account before you reel off a shot, and pulling that trigger is rarely without consequence. The amount of pre-planning that goes into each mission gives Sniper Elite 3 a measure of depth, as players are required to scope out the area using their binoculars, lay traps and map out their escape route before the shooting begins.Features like this have always given Sniper Elite a tactical edge over some of the other military shooters out there.Sadly, the artificial intelligence still doesn't feel like the finished article, so expect to encounter a few quirks here and there. The relocate system is another new addition that helps tip the odds in the player's favour when the chips are down by allowing them to give encroaching foes the slip and find another weakness in the enemy lines. Each level is a multi-route affair littered with a choice of vantage points and scenery for covering your advance; and this variety ensures subsequent playthroughs are never the same as before. However, the level design is not without its flaws as alluring waypoints occasionally usher players into perilous dead-ends.The replay value of this game is rather high, as Sniper Elite 3 is just downright enjoyable.Sniper Elite 3 treads that fine line between realism and fun, but it comes together well, providing cheap kicks for those who enjoy over-the-top sniper kills, and a modicum of tactical depth for players looking for something more substantial.Overall 8/10.

My first Sniper Elite game and the experience was pretty good.

Thanks to the bullet cam the sniping feels really satisfying, even if, looking at it from the outside, it's a pretty gruesome part of the game.

There are "only" 8 missions in the game but completing them all while looking for every War diary, Cards and secondary objectives took me 48 hours. Now, I did go a bit too far at times, reloading over and over when something didn't play out exactly like I wanted it to, like that time I wanted to kill 4 circling soldiers back to back with the silenced gun without getting found out or the corpses spotted, but I found that part of the game satisfying as well, since it helped teaching things about the enemies' behavior and the game's behavior.

I spent the whole game either sniping, or using the silenced gun/backstab kills so I don't really know how the gunblazing approach works, but I never felt the need to go in gun blazing as crouching down, sniping some and moving out to relocate somewhere else in case a corpse was found/my gunshot was heard was the most enjoyable part of the game.

Another nice aspect about Sniper Elite 3 is in the looks department. I found the game to look really well and perform just as well, even on my old 570 and on my 970 now it looks even better.
I played it with the Italian VA and I thought it was pretty good, both in the acting part as well as the sound of the voice.

All in all, a great sniping game that feels enjoyable where it counts and looks/performs well.

Another entry in the Sniper Elite franchise. And boy, it's a great one.

Story: The story might not feel very deep, but it works.

Graphics: The graphics are absolutely fantastic. Look at the beautiful enviroments of North Africa. Definatively Scenery Porn (look it up on Tv tropes). The character models also look very good. Even on low settings it's impressive.

Gameplay: The gameplay is in my opinion, improved a bit from V2. While regenerating health still exists, now it will only fill up to a certain point of your lifebar, anymore injuries than that will require bandages or medpacks to heal. The shooting still works very nice. One flaw though is that they removed the cover system from V2 (press Q), but so far it hasn't been affecting me that much. The A.I shows some improvement from V2, they will now react more to suspicious stuff, like gunfire and dead bodies. If you kill a soldier, they will start searching for you, and will find you eventually unless you relocate. You can also occasionally find weapon parts or upgrades for your weapons which can be used to modify your weapons.

Music: The music is, like V2, epic and well made. You can even occasionally hear songs from V2 on the radios in some missions.

Overall, Sniper Elite 3 is worth the money. If you liked V2, you will enjoy 3 as well.

Also for the last, it has trading cards, and the X-Ray killcams are just absolutely AWESOME (shooting an enemy in some parts of the head will even DESTROY parts of the cranium).

9/10.

I like this game plenty, but the latest update is horrible! Now my graphics constantly freeze when I am under attack, making it impossible to return fire. Whatever they "fixed", needs unfixed! Otherwise, a great game, and one of the more realistic ones when played in authentic mode.

Intro:
Sniper Elite game series brings the same formula as V2, But this time Sniper Elite 3 only to go all on graphics instead of story.

Graphics:
Far exceeds V2
Everywhere you go there is never a empty room/place

Gameplay:
Same as V2
Sniping is more realistic

The Bad:
Lack of detail background (sky and far sandy hills}
Lip movement is unrealistic
Not enough Stealthy missions
Story is Weak
Leveling System? {what for?}

Conclusion:
Sniper Elite 3 is one for the graphic lovers, but for the history buffs.
Still it is one of the best 3rd person sniping games to date {2014)

Having played all the games in the series, I'd have to say the ratings are as follows: 3>1>2. 1 was incredible for the time and a unique playing experience with many huge levels to experiment in. On the highest difficulties it was a demanding experience that rewarded patience, good planning, and accuracy. 2 was a step down from 1 in the level design department, having far too many close quarter battles in claustrophobic small levels. It's still a great 7/10 game, but it has issues. 3 is where they really hit the sweet spot, combining technical improvements over the last two games and fantastic level design. Although the amount of levels may seem sparse, each level is it's own massive sniper sandbox, allowing many numerous different approaches to each objective. The campaign took me 9 hours to beat on Sniper Elite difficulty and I only really did 50%ish of the secondary objectives, not to mention all the little collectibles scattered about each mission. In short, I highly recommend you check out Sniper Elite 3.

the first game i bought immediately after it became available in steam. for full price.
and i was wrong buying it AFTER release, because with pre-order i would have got Save Churchill :)
still had no doubt in buying it after i played v2 and both nazis add ons, and bought every dlc for sniper elite v2.
game became more beautiful, more interesting, but, it seems to me - shorter. i understand rebellion is interested in selling additional levels in dlc, but still i think they could have included at least couple of levels more.
good job, rebellion, you've got my money after you have presented me Sniper Elite V2 for free - i just didn't know about the game, and would not have known if not that giveaway, and I think now you will earn even more

Great Campainge horrible multiplayer, one sided as hell who ever gets to a spot first has the win, its a third person game so you can peek over cover and not revel yourself, this game is about snipers so i would assume maybe they fixed this from the prior game but no, its a ♥♥♥♥ty Call of Duty it truley is, it pretty much took sniping out of sniping theres no skill or tact to it if you can look around while in cover and not be surpreseed by people's fire and while your being shot at being able to see whoes shooting aim behind cover at the wall stand up and shoot and instantly it them because you no lifed this so long you have perfect judgement, i promptly returned to ARMA to fill my sniping needs, if your someone who enjoys a sniper game i would wait for a sale the campainge is fun but honestly this is not worth full price!
