If you're looking for a ♥♥♥♥ty game that sucks ♥♥♥, then go away. If you want a top-notch game with insane difficulty even on the Easy Mode with great Spritework, 8-Bit Music, and awesome platforming just like the good ol' NES days, then this game is for you. After you beat this, you'll die enough time times, you'll start swearing like an AVGN. Great Game, Great Buy.

When this game says that their videogames are difficult, they weren't kidding. I spent more time dying and yelling at myself than actually bowing to the floor and saying "Yes! Finally! I finally beat this thing!" The graphics are amazing. The plot makes so sense (but that's supposed to happen). The fourth wall breaks are absolutely HILARIOUS!

And you think you beat the game? Try a harder difficulty. It's totally worth it, but, be warned: once you beat it, you'll be like "Yes! I'm a master... Wait... Harder difficulty? Aww f**k?"

Could have been better, that's for sure. It's just a massive poor parody of the badly designed NES games played on the show with insanely-unfair-artificially added difficulty obstacles. It's almost as if they are charging you to be trolled by this game, lol.

Like they say in the game: I'd rather have a rhino take a poop on my chest than to play this game again.

Despite the succulent fellation that were the reviews to this game, only one part of it actually makes sense to me.
In the game, The AVGN complains about certain aspects of the level design. That's the part of this game I agree with.
This is more of a rage-inducing Cat Mario-esque game, than a rewarding old school NES game.
Jumping on a bossom trampoline through instant-death square mazes does not appeal to me, especially when the boost-jumping is approximately 60% of the time. And the bosses have a wide variation of difficulty, from 'easy' to 'WTF DO I DO? *punches hole in the closest wall." And after your 60th death over the same instant-death square slip up, the AVGN style death remarks become viable option, when compared to the game itself.
Good music, excellent sprite work, and spot-on satire are not enough to make this worth the grey hairs.

If you want to rage and become frustrated, play this game. The in-game audio can become very annoying, very fast. The vulgarity of the dialogue every time you die was the only thing that I found interesting, to say the least.

This game is a love letter to video games that were frustratingly difficult to win.
If you miss games like Ninja Gaiden and Mega Man (the first one), you will love this game. Rote is essential to defeating the levels, and trust me, you'll get lots of repetition in trying to figure out where the surprise monsters will pop out at you next. What fun!

The default controls on a keyboard are abysmal, but you can reconfigure them easily.
If you're looking for a legitimate throwback to an era that doesn't need to come back, this is your game.

Note: I did not finish this game, or even a single level beyond the tutorial. I don't ever plan on revisiting it.

If the game's purpose is to infuriate players, then by all means it succeeds. It's a really sloppy platformer with blind drops, traps specifically placed after some checkpoints to make you wait a couple of seconds, pretty buggy (you glitch through moving platforms), and generally feels like a horribly incestuous child of Metroid and Mega Man.

If you too want to become an angry video game nerd, play this game. If you value quality in platformers, go elsewhere. Christ.

The Positives: This game has it's moments and even when the humor usually falls flat the gameplay is mostly competent.

The Negatives: Everything else.

I hear people say stuff like "Call Of Duty: Black Ops is he best game ever!" or DmC, Or even Final Fantasy 44..

I can tell most think so because they look pretty. This game looks like you took every NES game, blended it up and threw it into this game.

Challenge is insane, levels are creative, bosses are challenging but fair because they have a pattern you just need to learn.
If easy was too easy, they have many other difficulties.

I see not a single bug, or glitch in the game.. aside from the Glitch Gremlin. Plus the Nerd isn't the only person you use. You have Mike, Guitar Guy, and BullS**T Man.

You can use a controller or the keyboard so no worries there. Also, the game makes it just challenging enough that even after 10 deaths in a row, you want to keep trying to beat that level.

Plus my favorite feature. It saves. Wanna play casual and beat it 1 level a day? You can. It saves all beaten levels.

Tired of these new easy games that are just button mashers that take almost no thinking? Well, here is a game that makes you stop and think.. or run as fast as you can and still think. Trial and Error.
