About This Content

Return to the Arc Islands for The Last Stand! Lume activity has increased exponentially and you and your fellow Core Guardians find yourselves more outnumbered than ever. Even out the odds by Utilizing the new Orbital Strike Relay tower and smash down a lazer from the sky into their FACE! Defend the Core on four new maps, one of them being a remake of the classic old Arc map. To help you face the new enemies in The Last Stand, the Bright Foundation has placed the most powerful weapon you've seen so far on three of the four new maps - The Rolfinator Defensive Turret, a turret that you can actually jump inside yourself and control to obliterate the enemies from afar.

Of course, you'll have other new weapons as well, such as the high-tech Smatterband, an industrial weapon that fires sticky bombs that erupt into 10 smaller explosions each, and you'll get to unlock 8 new perks!

Note: The Last Stand is included in the Sanctum 2 Season Pass and is part 4/4 in a series of DLC for Sanctum 2

I rate this DLC 4/5. Good.

This DLC is the nice epic conclusion to the Sanctum 2 storyline. True, it leaves room for a sequel but it provides more of a solid conclusion than the main game had. The overall quality of this DLC is very high and the music of this DLC is pretty good too (particularly music for the final battle). As with other DLCs to Sanctum 2, getting this sadly does not expand the playable soundtrack which you can buy here on steam. Oddly, these battles, while challenging, are not as utterly frustrating as some of the battles found in the previous DLCs. Like the other DLCs, I consider this to be an integral, must-have part of Sanctum 2 (it should have been part of the original game).

Spore pods, more like tank while reaching the core (and they almost always do). Best flying unit of this game series (and returns in this DLC).

This dlc brings me back to the good old sanctum 1 days, when air units were an actual threat,
You get two towers, one of them is the anti air tower, which pretty much explains itself it attacks air units, with each stage it multipies the damage by 2 while also doing AoE damage,
The other tower is the Orbital stike relay, its an expensive tower which fires a single beam which has a small AoE but does a lot of damage, overall this tower is great for taking out enemies at the core.

All maps except for the first are fairly open for choosing the way you want to build the maze,
one of the four maps is a remaster of the Ark (from sanctum 1), while beeing smaller than the original it received a player controleed tower near the core (also aviable in all the maps in here except the first one) which is capable of taking out multiple enemies at once with its AoE while doing a lot of damage.

These introduce an old enemy all over again, the spore pod,
these bad guys have the nasty habbit of appearing in huge numbers while also having a decent health pool while beeing fairly slow.

It finishes the expanded story.
New stuff is cool.
More replayability.
And finally the ending. Possibly sequel.

(Sanctum 2 - The Last Stand)

The final DLC for Sanctum 2, The Last Stand adds the useful Anti-Air tower and another fairly great selection of maps. Also, it lets you finish the expanded story.

Honestly, all of the Sanctum 2 expansion DLCs are good, they just vary in terms of map quality versus extra-stuff-you-unlock quality. Since they're fairly linear and you're likely to get all of them if you're getting any, these individual reviews don't honestly have that much of a point.

They all come in recommended, though, because they add solid content to an already great game.
