When I first launched the game, I (as many others) noticed that you don't have direct control. I was a little dissapointed, but I still proceeded. And I'm glad I did. I like puzzles and challenges, and the puzzles in this game can be very hard. They wouldn't be with direct control, so I can see why the developer took away conventional controls, player sees the puzzle, thinks it's hard based on other games' controls, but when he/she tries to solve it, the controls come to play, and that's when it gets difficult. Along with unique controls, the game has cute, semi-realistic art style, and SO beautiful soundtrack. Music in games is under-rated in most AAA and big company games, but not in most indie games. And in this game, the soundtrack is so calming, relaxing, happy... Words cannot describe how wonderful soundtrack in this game is.

So, not for people who don't like puzzles, and for some players it may get a little repetitive, but for people like me, it's one of te best games in past few years.

As other reviewers have stated, the difficulty in this is seriously high. The developers seem to have realised this though and have done a number of things to make the game more enjoyable:
-extremely generous save points
-easy mode energy bar
-press H for help which becomes available after you have failed a puzzle a few times

Despite this, these changes cannot make up for the core problem which is the level design in the later levels which rival IWBTG and Eryi's action in annoyance and difficulty. The atmospheric immersion and fun with the unique mechanics of the game is eventually eroded entirely from the game thus demotivating the playing from finishing the game.

To the developers: You can make a IWBTG type game that pays tribute to NES difficulty and you can make an atmospheric experimental 2D puzzle platformer.... but you cannot do both at the same time and your ratings shall now suffer for this mistake as an example for other indie developers to learn from.

Really cute puzzle platformer with a great soundtrack and level design. The only downside is that it's actually pretty challenging but i guess that also means that it's a pretty rewarding game as well.

This is the kind of game that I would relax to mainly for the music. The atmosphere of the game immerses the player in a delicate world of being four elements: air, earth, fire and ice. Players really need to manipulate these elements in order to progress through the game. There are no levels or upgrades. It's all based on how well each element can be used together. Ice can slide, fire is invincible (to other fire), air is free and stone is heavy. How well the player can change amongst these forms is based on patience and the sleight of hand.

Overall, I would recommend this game to those who like calming platformers and soothing music to accompany them. Although the levels have any monsters or intense battles, the levels and strategy used are quite difficult to master.

I love this game.
I always loved difficult and frustrating games, they push you to your limits and give you lots of satisfaction when you finally get through a level, well, this game isn't THAT hard, it's just filled up with good ol' trial and error: you die, you die again, you understand, you succed, you die and you start the loop all over again until you understand the pattern that you have to follow.
The game's lenght isn't that big but when you'll finish the main storyline you'll want to start all over again to speedrun through all of it and you'll always want to get even better at it.
I found it even more appealing using a gamepad.
Then we have the graphics, oh my god the graphics... This is one of those games with graphics that are so simple that makes it look more appealing than new-gen games, you wouldn't even guess it's an indie.
Another thing I loved were the elements quotes, they are so funny to read!
Totally a game that is worthy of a try

Very good game. The soundtrack and gameplay relieves my anxiety. Some people may not like it, but I enjoyed it and for the price I would suggest this to anyone.

I was bored recently and decided to look through my library of games to see what I should have a playthrough next. I saw this game which I had no idea how it got there. In fact, I installed it knowing nothing about the game, so if you are reading this, you are one step ahead of me already! Anyway, I was thoroughly surprised to find this indie game to be very different, having just played FEZ and Braid. You control this thing which can turn into four elements: Fire, Air, Ice, and Rock. Utilizing these four elements, you traverse the levels, trying to use them in new and unique ways. This game plays very well, the controls respond well to you and the puzzles are, for the most part, fair. The checkpointing can be a bit rough sometimes but is mostly barable. I think the roughest part is momentum. You see, unless you become an expert, unlike me who did a casual run-through of the story, you will have trouble with keeping momentum. The game's help feature shows how you are supposed to do it but mostly frustrates you more as it plays out very differently, sometimes you need to come up with different strategies to get by. Lastly, if you are just playing the story levels, the game is very short, packing only sixteen levels. That said, if you don't mind the price, this is a very good game which I recommend, pick it up and fire it up!

Um. Let me start off by saying I have no idea what to compare this game to other than saying it's like a weird fusion between Sonic, LittleBigPlanet and Flappy Bird. And even that doesn't quite describe it correctly. It's a physics puzzle where you get to switch between multiple elements which make up for some really nice and seemingly simple puzzles. It's a really good game that I'd recommend to anybody!

If you like challenging, potentially rage-inducing platformers, you may like Element4l. Most of the design was done well. There were a couple parts that felt tedious to progress through, but largely the world made sense. I may have preferred a different visual aesthetic, everything looked a bit dull, but I noticed that the visuals completely faded away from my mind while playing, freeing resources to focus on progressing through the world. The game also did not take itself too seriously, making silly comments every once in a while which lightened the mood. It's not my preferred kind of game, but it's a solid game for others.

Physics puzzle platformer where the use of each of the 4 elements unique attributes lets you navigate and interact with the environment to reach the end goal. Although done quite well, it is a simple formula which can get a bit repetitive. However, with a mesmerising ambient intelligent glitch soundtrack (one of the best I have heard in ages, check out Enigmatik lable if you like that style) I found myself easily getting lost in this game. If you find it on sale it is worth a look.
