Vad utvecklarna har att säga:

“Customizable mods are a big part of Audiosurf 2. I've finished a few already, but now I want to open it up to the community. There are lots of ways to play with Audiosurf's visual anticipation technology and I'm excited to see what the community comes up with. But more than that, I need you to tell me what to focus on next! Like the first Audiosurf, community feedback will shape it into the best game it can be. If you're interested in creating and sharing mods (scripting required) or skins (can be done with image, sound, and 3d model changes - and optionally with scripting), even better!

Wakeboard mode is my favorite way to ride (so far) because it uses the song's overall shape as a central part of the gameplay. You anticipate upcoming changes in the music visually and try to build up a big trick multiplier (full puzzle grid) just before jumping from a wavetop. The classic modes are still great and will evolve and twist in different directions. Audiosprint, the local-multiplayer party mode is simple (2 buttons) and a blast with friends.

Warning - there will be bugs! Please use the forum to report problems, request additions, or just discuss what's working well and what isn't. See you there.

Major Features not yet finished:
-- Scoreboard for every song, for every mod (scoreboards are currently sparse and unreliable)
-- Graphical music collection browser
-- Gamepad support in menus
-- Mac, Linux, SteamOS support
-- Translations from English
-- VR (Oculus Rift)
-- Even more official modes
-- Even more official skins
-- Important things I didn't think of yet!”

Auto-tricking wakeboard mode, vegas, dx11, lastfm

Thanks to Valve, the latest steam update brought support for using the overlay when Audiosurf 2 is in DX11 mode! So running in DX11 mode is the default again now. This way it has better performance and alt-tabs faster. Please post if you find any workshop skins with shaders that look wrong in DX11 (if there are any more).

Buffed the Vegas mode to be able to shuffle the puzzle grid twice as often. The previous Vegas mode will still show up on the puzzle league scoreboards in addition to the new Vegas mode.

Updated Wakeboard mode to include no grey blocks and a feature that auto-starts the ideal trick for you after you jump from a wake. After that first trick, you can do more if there's still air time. Like Wakeboard Grid, this mode is about trying to keep a mostly full puzzle grid (full grid = big trick multiplier) before jumping at big moments in the music. This one is easier to learn, but still has a high skill ceiling.

Fixed a couple issues with Soundcloud browsing which should make it now load your Soundcloud feed faster.

Added support for an "extras.xml" file which can be added into the game's folder alongside the "Audiosurf2.exe" file. It currently can be used for scrobbling to Last.fm and for changing the game to not auto-center the vehicle when playing with a gamepad or keyboard. You can get the file here if you'd like either of those features:
http://audiosurf2.com/gamefiles/extras.xml
Download it, put it next to Audiosurf2.exe, then open it in a text editor (like Notepad) to change the settings.

Small changes to the Stadium skin that make air particles a little bigger and add shader support for OpenGL (for currently in-progress ports).

Edit (11.16.2014): Just uploaded a small change that runs in exclusive mode fullscreen under DX9. If you need exclusive mode for something like nvidia 3D vision or AMD crossfire, run the game with the launch option "-force-d3d9" (without the quotes).

Om detta spel

Audiosurf 2 is not yet finished, but if you get it during Early Access you can play right away, you’ll get every update, and you’ll get the finished game. Watch here to see what’s new with each update, and watch Steam Workshop to see what new gameplay (mods) and graphic styles (skins) others in the community are inventing.

You’ll also get to help shape the future of Audiosurf, and you’ll get to try out all the experimental new modes before anybody else does. Which ones are too wacky to go into the final product? Which are jaw-droppingly amazing? Which have potential but need more work before they’re released? You get to help decide.

By blending gameplay with music visualization, Audiosurf puts you inside your music in a way nothing else can.

Audiosurf 2’s music analysis engine knows when the best moments of a song are coming, and it allows you to experience these moments on a roller-coaster-like track as beat-matched blocks, corkscrews, loops, deafening applause, shimmering colors, and accelerating drops. Head out to Workshop to see the latest experimental modes and things get wild--the track can become water where a wakeboarder catches huge air at a song’s biggest moments; a dirt track where runners jump over musically-timed hurdles; or anything else anybody who wants to use the game’s built-in modding tools can dream up. The possibilities for experiencing your music in Audiosurf 2 are endless.

Audiosurf has been called a near-religious music experience and it's like nothing else in the world of music games. Ride your music.

I'll be short.

I'm writing this review only because I thought about it, and I've been an ♥♥♥ with Dylan, on the forums. I've been truly, excessively negative about this game just because he didn't add a proper last.fm support for months (still kinda crippled as last.fm integration but what the heck! At least it's there).

As early access game, I believe it's worth your money. It's AS1 but with better graphics, mechanics and workshop.

Sure there are still things to fix (you can't change settings during a song, there's no way to change colours except downloading a different skin), but overall none could say this game isn't worth your 10 bucks.

As Audiosurf 1 was the game that made me use steam almost daily, so is Audiosurf 2. I bloody love this game.

Definitely recommended.

I might write another review as it gets out of Early Access.

Haven't played it a ton yet, loved the original can allready tell this one is going to be better!

Pros:
-Workshop integration.
-Soundcloud Integration.

Cons:
Some menu features are still a little buggy (not ever been a big deal).

Suggestions (I feel like that's sort of what early acess is for):

-Would Love to see spotify intigration, not sure if this is possible.
-In the absense of that I would suggest maybe grooveshark.

~Cheers

Love this game to just relax in the evenings after work playing some music, I like it more than the first one since this has an integrated workshop & you can beat other people by getting a higher score!

Also if you like music then you'll probably enjoy this too.

I've changed my update from bad to good.

I can finally say Audiosurf 2 is a worthy successor to the first entry. SoundCloud streaming is fixed, custom game modes are simple to install, and the gameplay is incredibly fun. I like to play on the classic skin so it feels similar to the first game.

The only issue I would bring up is the lack of game updates. Updates come along every so often with a lot of content but they do not come as timely as one would think. Do not let that stop you from enjoying the game.

Audiosurf 2 is an essential title for any music lover. Featuring an assortment of modes, mods and skins, AudioSurf has never played or looked better.

Gameplay.

Gameplay of Audiosurf 2 is a huge step up from the previous title in the series. In this edition of the much loved game, players can now download from a huge assortment of game types from the Steam Workshop; with easy, initutive controls anyone can begin making their own game mode with ease. The base modes included with Audiosurf 2 are the much loved Mono Mode; albeit, slightly different this time, Double Vision mode, and much more from the original. A new mode makes its debut in Audiosurf 2, named Waveboarding; this mode is similiar to Mono, however is much more intense (Great for those heavy rock songs). All these gamemodes can be used on any song you can throw at the game; now including SoundCloud support. This is a much welcomed addition as it allows players to enjoy the game without having to download an mp3 of their favorite songs (Which can get very cluttered/bulky, especially if you like your music).

Graphics

Audiosurf 2 looks absolutely gorgeous. Never has music looked this good on a screen. Each movement of the map is fluid, the animations crisp and colorful, and the game gives off an overall atmosphere of quality rarely seen in Early Access Indie Titles these days. What makes Audiosurf 2 stand out even more from the crowd is the skin section: using the Steam Workshop (Yep, this game just loves that workshop), users can download a huge assortment of skins, ranging from Classic Audiosurf 1, to even a Mass Effect skin. The skins completely transform the way you play and can even help you get better scores, with some simplifying the game down so you don't get sesnory overload when the beat drops in the music.

Overall, Audiosurf 2 is a game you need to pick up if you're a music fanatic or just want a casual relaxing experience, that can be turned up to give you a burst of adrenaline. For $15, you can't go wrong.

Makes listening to music less of a passive experience and that's good enough for me.

Some of the modes/skins available in-game and in the workshop are a lot of fun too.

I love Audiosurf 1 and Audiosurf 2 keeps getting better and better. I'm a dedicated mono-mode veteran and AS2 has made the right changes to it. Additionally you can absolutely feel the passion of the developer behind this project.

Are you a lover of music? No?
Okay, do you atleast enjoy music? Yes? Good!
Than this is a game for you, this game let you ride your music like you ride a
roller coaster, except you collect different kind of blocks to gain points while riding it.
The levels are different for each song, a calm song leads to a calm level and so on.
The difference between this game and the first game is that this has moddability, which grants endless
replayability since more and more ways of playing the game is developed, but also the ability to play songs on Soundcloud.
I know that is important since not a lot of people have their computers filled with MP3's

Visually this game is amazing, especially with some themes in the workshop, I've lately checked around with
the theme "Electrica", beautiful! It's kind of a trip really.

So yeah, if you like fast paced "puzzle" games with music as it's strengh, than yeah this is a game for you!

And for me!

I'd say this is a pretty good upgrade from the first Audiosurf. Better graphics, more gameplay modes, mod support, etc.
The menus, though, are absolutely horrendous, which I find a massive turn-off. Hopefully they will be fixed in the future.
I wouldn't say that this is a "must-have" game at the moment -- but if you've got 15 bucks, this is something to consider.

--November 25, 2014 Early Access Review--

Note: I originally did a review for this game on June 14, 2014 and continuously updated it, but I decided to re-do my review now that I recommend it.

Video preview of Audiosurf 2:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=300164118

Alright, so it's been quite a while since I've bought this game and I have played it a lot now. I've gotten quite used to the way this game works, compared to the original Audiosurf, and I think I can finally recommend it to the general public. There's still some cons to go along with the pros, but it's a pretty good game still.

The Pros:
+ You can get A LOT more points on songs compared to the original Audiosurf, even on songs that had mainly blue traffic in Audiosurf.
+ Really fun if you can deal with the fast pace and gray blocks everywhere.
+ Absolutely stunning graphics, even on low setting. Huge improvement compared to the original.
+ The camera angle has been fixed and it is a lot better.
+ There is Steam Workshop compatibility, which is a great for people who want to try different things.
+ If you actually like the more faster pace compared to the original Audiosurf, then you'll like this a bit more.
+ The song selection interface has improved, now previewing the artist, song name, album, and cover art for the album/single.

The Cons:
- The difficulty is very hard now, even for normal mono, regardless of choice.
- It's very fast paced, compared to Audiosurf's mono.
- The whole track is a lot faster than the original mono, which again, makes the difficulty insanely harder.
- There are tons more gray "blocks" than the original, making it almost impossible to achieve stealth and attempt at every colored block.
- The gray "blocks" can sometimes be extremely close to the colored blocks, and in some cases, practically glued together with each other.
- Like it says right above this, the gray "blocks" can be extremely close to colored blocks, which can make you lose stealth in lots of cases, unless you're Harry Houdini or something.

So yeah, I suggest you get any Audiosurf (1 or 2). Be forewarned: Audiosurf 2 is a LOT faster and very difficult compared to Audiosurf (in terms of mono mode). The cons might be just my personal problems with the game, but I think you should still take those cons in consideration if you're deciding on whether to buy the game or not. Wait for the sales, my best advice. Still a good buy, however.

Simple fun.

The general interface ( menus, options ) is pretty bad and just really bland though. Should've just kept it like the first game.

When you get on to the actual song chosen though, it's all good. Oh , you can also use Soundcloud ( when it works... there is a glitch where you just get a white screen when trying to log into Soundcloud account) if you don't want to use music from your HDD.

Honestly an amazing game, great for those people that want to watch a bunch of bars and waves or play a really hyped up or calming game powered by your music!

The recent updates have brought my attention to the point that I might play this more often than usual.

Audiosurf is much more modern now. You can get mods and play songs from soundcloud, which is really cool. Those two features make buying the updated version worth it. If you haven't bought the first one, I highly recommend you get this game. It is a great way to have fun with your music collection and discover more music.
