O que os desenvolvedores têm a dizer:

“Customizable mods are a big part of Audiosurf 2. I've finished a few already, but now I want to open it up to the community. There are lots of ways to play with Audiosurf's visual anticipation technology and I'm excited to see what the community comes up with. But more than that, I need you to tell me what to focus on next! Like the first Audiosurf, community feedback will shape it into the best game it can be. If you're interested in creating and sharing mods (scripting required) or skins (can be done with image, sound, and 3d model changes - and optionally with scripting), even better!

Wakeboard mode is my favorite way to ride (so far) because it uses the song's overall shape as a central part of the gameplay. You anticipate upcoming changes in the music visually and try to build up a big trick multiplier (full puzzle grid) just before jumping from a wavetop. The classic modes are still great and will evolve and twist in different directions. Audiosprint, the local-multiplayer party mode is simple (2 buttons) and a blast with friends.

Warning - there will be bugs! Please use the forum to report problems, request additions, or just discuss what's working well and what isn't. See you there.

Major Features not yet finished:
-- Scoreboard for every song, for every mod (scoreboards are currently sparse and unreliable)
-- Graphical music collection browser
-- Gamepad support in menus
-- Mac, Linux, SteamOS support
-- Translations from English
-- VR (Oculus Rift)
-- Even more official modes
-- Even more official skins
-- Important things I didn't think of yet!”

back to dx9, temporarily

Small update today that returns Audiosurf 2 to DX9 mode by default. This brings back the Steam overlay. If you'd rather have the extra performance than the overlay, you can add the launch option "-force-d3d11" (without the quotes).

  • defaults to DX9 mode
  • detects when launched fullscreen in a non-supported aspect ratio and corrects
  • added cubemap support to skins

example cubemap loading code for use in skins:
shader="Reflective/Bumped Specular",
textures={_MainTex="maintex3.png", _BumpMap="normal3.png", _Glow="glowBW3_2.png", _Cube={_FrontTex = "Front.png", _BackTex = "Back.png", _LeftTex = "Left.png", _RightTex = "Right.png", _UpTex = "Top.png", _DownTex = "Bottom.png"}}

Performance, DX11, Puzzle Balance

Performance and graphic changes:

  • Upgraded the game engine to run on DirectX 11 (was DirectX 9). The upgrade gives about a 20% performance boost!
  • However, some skins on workshop will now look wrong due to some of the game's older .shader files not being compiled in a dx11-compatible way. Please let me know about skins you find that no longer look right and I'll work with the skin's author to fix them.
  • Note: it's still possible to run the game in DX9 mode by adding the launch option "-force-d3d9" (without the quotes)
  • Added Ultra quality setting, so there's now 4 quality levels available in the game options. Most skins run with the exact same settings whether High or Ultra is selected.
  • The stadium skin on High quality now runs about twice as fast and looks a bit less detailed.
  • The stadium skin on Ultra quality now looks even better than it used to look on High quality and also runs faster.
  • Added ability for skins to use post-processing shader effects. See the updated Classic skin for an example.
  • Classic skin updated with new effects and promoted to a "main" skin.

Mode changes:
  • Vegas nerfed. The vegas mode is fun to play, but was scoring too many points. This change reduced all points earned evenly, so vegas still plays the same.
  • Pointman buffed. Pointman can now scoop powerups (except multipliers) to use later.
  • Pointman now has 7 puzzle rows (was 6).
  • Wakeboard grid mode now requires holding a trick button to enable jumping. It now also allows you to start tricks that don't have enough air time to finish - so you'll crash long tricks done at the wrong time unless you downgrade them with a quick trick before landing.

More:
  • URLs to popular video sites found in scoreboard comments are automatically turned into clickable links.
  • Added more transparency to the UI.
  • Song of the day art is now displayed on the title screen at startup.
  • Skin UI graphics are now loaded at game startup.
  • Skin selection screen now loads quickly with no stuttering.

Acerca deste jogo

Audiosurf 2 is not yet finished, but if you get it during Early Access you can play right away, you’ll get every update, and you’ll get the finished game. Watch here to see what’s new with each update, and watch Steam Workshop to see what new gameplay (mods) and graphic styles (skins) others in the community are inventing.

You’ll also get to help shape the future of Audiosurf, and you’ll get to try out all the experimental new modes before anybody else does. Which ones are too wacky to go into the final product? Which are jaw-droppingly amazing? Which have potential but need more work before they’re released? You get to help decide.

By blending gameplay with music visualization, Audiosurf puts you inside your music in a way nothing else can.

Audiosurf 2’s music analysis engine knows when the best moments of a song are coming, and it allows you to experience these moments on a roller-coaster-like track as beat-matched blocks, corkscrews, loops, deafening applause, shimmering colors, and accelerating drops. Head out to Workshop to see the latest experimental modes and things get wild--the track can become water where a wakeboarder catches huge air at a song’s biggest moments; a dirt track where runners jump over musically-timed hurdles; or anything else anybody who wants to use the game’s built-in modding tools can dream up. The possibilities for experiencing your music in Audiosurf 2 are endless.

Audiosurf has been called a near-religious music experience and it's like nothing else in the world of music games. Ride your music.

Good game, lots of mods and skins, fun to play, recomended to play when you are in the mood to listen to some of your favourite music.
Still on beta but it is already a lot better than the first one, a bit to heavy though.

This is absolutely AWESOME especially the WAKEBOARD mode. LITERALLY, RIDE YOUR OWN MUSIC... if you prefer animal sounds or a recording of your boss' voice while going ballistic about your unpunctuality, YOU CAN RIDE IT. Just plug in almost any sound file in the game. But preferably put your own music that pumps you up. ITS ALL ABOUT THE WAVE DUDE. RIDE OR DIE. I'm sure there are a lot more GOOD things to come when this game is complete!

PS
Don't lose your job.

9/10 Game Play -
It retains those funny mods in audiosurf1. What's more, it develops a new surfing mod that we could truly surfing our music, pretty fantastic. But I feel its synchronization is not good as audiosurf1.

10/10 Graphics -
Audiosurf2 uses cool colors, with 3 kinds of skins. Gaming likes lightning and Tsunami, very cool.

9/10 Sound -
Totally depended on your own music library.

5/10 Difficulty -
More difficuty than it before, very fast. Even me can not suit the high speed mod. And the surfing mod has more playing techniques, slowly enjoy it.

10/10 Lasting Appeal -
Music games never have their ends, and you can never finish those mods.

Total Score - 43/50 Extrem Gut

Love this game to just relax in the evenings after work playing some music, I like it more than the first one since this has an integrated workshop & you can beat other people by getting a higher score!

Also if you like music then you'll probably enjoy this too.
