Acerca deste jogo

By blending gameplay with music visualization, Audiosurf puts you inside your music in a way nothing else can. Use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose.

What are the biggest improvements from Audiosurf 1?

Ever-expanding new ways to play with over 500 and counting player-created mods and skins on Workshop.. Additional layers of strategy tied to the song’s biggest moments. In-game leaderboards let you compare your score moment to moment against your friends and rivals even when they’re not online. Enhanced graphics quality. Ability to search for music (including online music). Available on Mac and Linux!

What’s new about Mono mode in Audiosurf 2?

In Audiosurf 2 your timing in mono mode is more important than ever. You’ve got to strategize to get your grid full at the most intense moments of songs to get the most points. Look ahead in the distance for corkscrew loops with powerups to know when these moments will occur.

What do I get in the demo?

The demo allows players to play any song they want, for their first 3 songs. After that, they can play the Song of the Day, everyday, as many times as they want.

Is there a mode that focuses on dodging blocks?

Yes, there's a new Ninja mode. It has a big bonus for hitting no spikes and creates intense spike fields to weave through. It’s faster than regular Mono and the second-to-second challenge of avoiding spikes is harder. For even more challenge there’s ninja turbo. It’s too fast for you.

What’s new about the Puzzle modes in Audiosurf 2:

Just as with Mono mode, your timing on Puzzle modes is now more important than ever. Push, Shuffle, Erase, or Scoop blocks at the just the right moments to take full advantage of multiplier powerups that come at the most intense moments of songs.

Can players make their own mods and skins to share on Steam Workshop?

Yes! There’s detailed documentation on making Audiosurf 2 skins available here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=413812198
Also, every mode and skin in the games comes with the script source code and assets. Players can use any of the official modes/skins as a starting place.

This game is better. It does everything that the original Audiosurf did, but better. Better graphics, more customizability, more more more. Only downside is that sometimes it can confusing to find the mode you're looking for.

I was lukewarm to the idea of playing another "music surf" game, since I had exhausted the first audiosurf and fellow peers did not recommend the new one being supposedly early access, but the game at this point in my reviewing works pretty flawlessly and fantastically. A million times more variation to the original, with a steam workshop dedicated to new game modes, soundcloud support which is fantastic for me since I haven't been able to transfer my old music from the computer on to the new one, and plenty of visual skins to keep the presentation and aesthetic of surfing very fresh. It will always come down to one thing; Audiosurf doesn't have many flaws to point out in the first place, and the same applies here.

The concept of the game is great, but the gameplay is awful.

I used to play Audiosurf and it was pretty much ok, the UI was horrendous but the game was smooth when the music started to run. That's the word, Audiosurf 2 just isn't smooth enough, you don't get in sync with the music because something is wrong. The obstacles should "tilt" the music when you hit them, the way it is now you never know if you have hit something or not. The track feels weird, sometimes you start to go uphill and you can't even see what's ahead (a disaster for ninja mode). Unfortunately I couldn't bear to play this game for more than a few minutes to find out exactly where it went wrong, I just went back to the original Audiosurf. The goal with these kind of games is to relax, Audiosurf 2 does the opposite of that. It feels like the game is still in beta.

There's lots of room for improvement here, I'll give it another try after a few months. I hope it gets updated, I really want to enjoy this game.

I've had this game for months on my wishlist before I finally decided to get it and I regret nothing, except waiting so long to get it maybe.

It's an old-school fun racing game where the track changes to the beat of your own music.

In case you don't wanna play your own music (why wouldn't you though?) you can also select from a list of available tracks online within the game.
There are different modes to play, which offer various visual styles and difficulties. Plus for all modes there is a huge online community that has many brilliant designs to play with.

Also there is a leaderboard for the songs played within the different modes and it's fun finding other people who also listen and play some more obscure tracks. Who know, MC Lars had so many fans on steam? :-)

Overall it's a pretty good game. Better visuals, more game modes and the added workshop portion adds even more content. However if you have played Audiosurf for the Mono and Ninja mono game modes, then you will be disappointed. Those two modes are my favorite and are completely changed for the worse in Audiosurf 2. If you're looking to pick up this game to play those game modes, I would stick with the original Audiosurf, otherwise I would recommend this game.

I played a ton of the first Audiosurf some years ago, absolutely loved it. This one is just as great and it adds more stuff. The game can be easy or it can be very challenging, it's all up to you. Such an awesome excuse to listen to the songs you love now or haven't heard in awhile again. Audiosurf's concept is fun. Ride your music.

Audiosurf 2 is the sequel to Audiosurf. Well that makes sense.
What is Audiosurf though? A rhythm game.
Can you really have sequels in rhythm games, especially ones where the library is defined by the player instead of preselected tracks?
Yes you can! Audiosurf 2 features more modes, better workshop support with lots of different skins and modes, improved engine, better graphics/sound and features lots of ways to play the game even if you don't have music tracks saved on your PC via soundcloud support and of course Song of the Day.

My only complaint is the different formula calculation for score in the Mono mode which is defined a lot more from RNG when compared with the original game but I hardly find that a reason to not recommend this.
You can play versus your friends, people in your region or even globaly so there's a big community with semi competitive status.

Alternatively you relax and unwind on your own terms and songs with different modes and settings; the game appeals to anyone and everyone and I think this is what makes it a must buy if you like rhythm games and even if plan or not to be featured on the leaderboards.

One of my All-Time favourites.

+ I absolutely recommend this game if you enjoyed the original Audiosurf, I certainly did, and am thrilled with how Audiosurf 2 has been presented.

+ There have been a few removals, and additions, as always with second generations of games, though I do not believe it hinders play at all. These lie within track modes, point collecting and the new scoring board.

+ The menus as before can be tedious to navigate, and manually searching a song can prove irritating with the no backspace. HOWEVER. Still an amazing game.

-/+ Soundcloud is featured, alowing you access music to play from there, or tunes that you have located on your HD.
Spotify would be a much better option, but understandably, it is a music subscription service, and certain legal terms can currently not be met. Here's some wishful thinking for the future.

-/+ Incredibly refreshing graphics, far more vibrant and punchy, with the ability to mod tracks and test the creativity of users; I shall put forward a strong warning to those who suffer with epilepsy!

+ A game that can be enjoyed by both casual and hardcore players, while chilling to your favourite music.

Brilliant.

For people coming from Audiosurf 1: Try the demo first and see for yourself if it's worth the price.
For people who have big music libraries who want a new game to mess around with: Get this.

Although the game follows mostly the same mechanics as the first Audiosurf (ride on a rollercoaster based on your favorite songs, gathering points and beating other people's scores), there are plenty of things that set it apart. The first and biggest addition is the workshop, which gives you more than enough options to try out different skins and modes, and lets you find the best ways to play your songs. The other big addition is soundcloud integration, which means you don't even need a music library in order to play on a ton of different songs.

Of all the mechanical changes to the tracks, the best is the algorithm change that basically gets rid of the 'uphill only' songs from Audiosurf 1. That means that people who have softer songs they want to play can actually have fun with them in this game. Next is the addition of 'corkscrews' (Audiosurf 1 had these as well, but they didn't affect your score as far as I remember), which is either a good or a bad thing depending on how much you like having to use new strategies to get higher scores. It adds a few new elements to the gameplay that will seperate the pros from the casual players.

One of the changes that I'm not a fan of, but can understand the reason why it was implemented, is the randomization of blocks in the track. While it helps balance out the different audio formats that enter the leaderboard, it brings in a notable factor of luck to the gameplay. Plus, when you restart the track, you have to wait for it to load again, which is tolerable, but gets annoying if you're playing songs that are 10 minutes or longer. If you aren't itching to be a pro player, this won't affect your gameplay.

For the people who only want to play this competitively, you might just have to deal with mono (which is the simplest gameplay mode). I find the puzzle modes fun, and they're much more challenging than mono, but there aren't a lot of puzzle players in this game to begin with. There is a 'song of the day' section which always has tons of players on it, but at the expense of you not playing on your own music. Unless you only play popular songs or soundcloud songs, you'll have to stick with mono in order to have groups of people to play against.

And lastly, for the players who don't care about competitive score at all, this game is going to be heaven for you. With all these skins and modes to mess around with, you won't get bored of the game anytime soon. The upgraded graphics allow some creative seizure-inducing (or seizure-avoiding) arrangements, meaning you can pick skins to make the game look as pretty or as simplistic as you want.

As a big music game fan, Audiosurf 2 is well worth the $15. I've gotten a ton of time and enjoyment out of it (as a note, I had over 200 hours in Audiosurf 1 as well, but that wasn't on this account). And, if you're still not convinced by this review, you can just try the demo.

Basically if you ever wanted to literally ride a guitar rif, this is the game for you, simple gameplay is fun and advance gameplay is very very challenging, and the mod community is making new game modes and skins all the time. Absolute blast to play when you find that new song youve been groovin to or an old favorite. Highly recommend to all.

Imagine Megarace, GuitarHero and Tetris having a wild party together with the winamp visualizer.
Got it? This game is exactly what happens 9 months after that night.

This game is:
- Casual
- Relaxing
- Hard
- Extremely hard
- Addictive like hell
(yes, ALL of the mentioned above)

The only things that limit you are the size of your 'MUSIC' folder and your love to listen to it.
Have in mind, however, that you're not likely to find a highscore competitor for somethig rare and\or local. The real world-wide highscore challange only happens with hits and widely popular tracks (or random 'song of the day'). Some modes are much more popular than the others.

It's a good idea to clean up your tags before playing. Cyrillic characters work well (if saved with a proper encoding options).

Workshop skins are nice, plenty of those to choose from (so far I loved 'aurora' the most).

NOTE! There IS a built-in Last.FM scrobbler. It works, but for some totally unexplainable reason the only way to turn it on is to tweak the .xml config file, it's not avaliable from the in-game menu.

To me music is life. I love to play games while listening to a good tune. Here you actually get to ride your song, you choose a downloaded song, choose a mode to play and the game literally forms a road for you to play the tune. You also get to test yourself and improve your speed, mental as well. I do recommend this game
