Wow this game was amazing as f#ck!
I've played it for 31 minutes right now and so far I loved everything of it! This was one of the first stealth based games I have ever played. At the beginning it was pretty hard for my cause I haven't played stealth games that much before so I tried most of the (first) levels over and over until I completed it but I kept loving it. So if you're new to the whole stealth genre this one is perfect to start with.
About the graphics... It was pretty good for a old game, just how everything looked was totaly different than I saw in any other game I've played before. The physics are also pretty d@mn amazing, how you pick up items and people, how people detect you etc. Totally recommend it!

It was a good game. Lots of gadgets and stealth. Then they just sort of dropped the title and moved on to whatever the flavor of the month was.
It had great potential.
The main story is good. Enjoyable with a friend in coop as well. It really could have used some decent DLC or an open world to screw around in once the story was over. Instead we have the stupid arena nonsense.
Half of the game is great. The main story being the good part. The challenges are ♥♥♥♥ however.

I love Splinter Cell series and Michael Ironside makes the character sound better.

Somehow the story in SP is too much predictable and kinda old. Reminds me of MI4. But how Sam took out all the enemies are still the good thing from this game. Stealth always my choice, but somehow there are times when I have to kill someone.

The COOP wasn't really that good for me. It you are a fan of SC, i recommend to buy it. But not at full price. LOL

Was hoping for a fun splinter cell game like the ones I have played in the past. I felt it was a dissapointment.
A.I. was hard and being sneaky was lame. I found myself frustrated throughout the game. At one point I passed a level only redue it over after quiting game. It was not fun for me at all.

I love the way the game works. You have a lot of options and you can do whatever you wish for in order to get the job done.
For me i like to be more quite then base in with guns and mines, that makes the game way more intresting, since you can fine a lot of way to get in and out from situations.
If you like some good tactical game with a lot of options to pick your favorite game style type, even if its quiet or eiter full power on the trigger, you will find this game fun. Awesome story line and good missions and gameplay, option to play coop missions makes the game a lot more fun, since you can set up a plan with a friend and play the game how ever you like.

"Splinter Cell" when you hear those words what do you usually think? When I hear those words I think of a stealth series that is stiff and tactical where you need to be careful and be VERY conservative on ammo management. This game resembles nothing of that sadly. Deciding to take on a more "casual" 3rd person shooter route, maps are linear, ammo is quite plentiful in strategically located crates, objectives are highlighted so you can see them and instantly know where to go 24\7 like a lost puppy, co-op is stunted to maps that feel like something you'd find on the steam workshop, and a tacked on (and very odd) multiplayer mode just make this game into a very poor package. Either from this being a Ubisoft title or them wanting to "casualize" the game to entice new players, this game does everything possible to alienate you from it being an actual Splinter Cell game. There is hardly any stealth mechanics, all the maps appear to be daytime or super bright that you NEVER use night vision goggles once despite it being a staple in pretty much all the other Splinter Cell games; health auto-regenerates so it causes you to lose any sense of being careful on even the highest of difficulties since you can just get turned into swiss cheese, sit behind cover till your screen stops having jelly smears and then get back up to go attack again. This just doesn't feel like a Splinter Cell game anymore and this series has taken a turn for just the worse possible route since they've casualized this whole quote on quote "stealth" aspect so much that they've now alienated the series kinda like Fallout 4 so that it's too casualized and trendy to become memorable.

My quick and final advice for this, don't buy this game and go get one of the previous titles. They at least made it feel stealthy and had better co-op then this.

The game is amazing. You really feel like this spider ninja ghost type creature as you lurk around varied locations taking out terrorists. The game allows you to customize each way you play meaning you can customize your character and also your loadout that you use. Depending on what you take, it can alter the entire way you play the game. The game provides frequent rewards which you can use to upgrade your weapons, base, gear, gadgets, etc. so there is always an incentive to try make these small achievements (e.g. kill X amount of enemies a certain way, not disturbing guards, etc).

As for the story, it is engaging enough that you care about what happens. There are plenty of side mission too and you can go back and replay missions, meaning there is a decent amount of replay value.

I think this is the best Splinter Cell game.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a stealth third-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Toronto and published by Ubisoft. It was released in August 2013. Blacklist is a very good game that excels in freedom of approach in mission in which complements the excellent story. The main protagonist is Sam Fisher and Fisher is one of the main operatives part of the new Fourth Echelon. Blacklist incorporates a new story while expanding and not forgetting events that occurred in the previous game Conviction. This review will discuss the campaign in relation to missions and story, the gameplay and the Paladin, the multiplayer, and the graphics and performance. I did not play the DLC.

Campaign
Blacklist features a very intense campaign that shifts the dynamic from typical FPS shooters. The Fourth Echelon's motive is to combat The Engineers, who are perpetrators of the Blacklist and these are a bunch of attacks aimed at America with a countdown on each event. Your team lives on a Paladin and uses a Strategic Mission Interface (SMI) and this replaces the traditional menu screen in other FPS games. It features a world map and allows you to coordinate your plans. For instance, you can play campaign missions, side missions, and the multiplayer portion. The SMI is very unique and frankly I love it because it fit right into the context of the story and setting. In saying that, it was frustrating to launch the game to play multiplayer with friends only to be inserted right into the campaign because I was unaware that the SMI was a thing and was the main UI of the game. Upon beginning the game there was already tension attached to the story and a sense of urgency. This is where Blacklist excels at, making sure the prologue kick-starts the story and each mission and the overall story are progressed while never ceasing intensity. Furthermore, Blacklist improves on the storytelling aspect of making Sam's personality shine through his drive on stopping The Engineer and not doing it sorely for his daughter Sarah Fisher because in Conviction all his motives were for her, so it provides a nice change.

I highly praise the dialogue because the profound amount of it complements the story. For instance, it's refreshing that after every campaign mission there is new dialogue for all team members, Sam and other personnel. I think the dialogue adds to the characterisation of all characters within the game by creating diversities between each while not forgetting past issues. The game features sixteen refreshing side missions. I love it because there is a total of sixteen missions from four different team members and all have unique objectives, gameplay approaches and add to the overall story. They have good length and while they are not long as the main campaign, they are not short which means they feel significant and not unnecessary. Lastly, the various missions are set in different locations in the world so the feature does not ever feel stale. The campaign overall was excellent but I felt it really missed the jackpot. It's difficult to explain without spoilers but I felt that the game could have had some more time to breathe because the motives of The Engineers were major and certain sequences in the campaign were significant so I think more explanation and more storytelling would have added a ton to the quality of the overall game and story. But, for what was presented, it still was great.

Gameplay
The game's core component is the Paladin. The Paladin is a plane that is the home of Fourth Echelon and that is where you conduct all briefings for missions and communication with team members. It is very unique because the Paladin is the operations area for the campaign, it includes the SMI, which as stated replaces the traditional menu, and it is involved in a major way that I will not spoil. Furthermore, you can upgrade it using in-game currency that you earn through completing missions and challenges. For instance, you can upgrade the medical bay on the plane to improve your health during missions. In other words, I commend Ubisoft for creating something new to use and I think it worked for them.

Blacklist features standard FPS gameplay but moreover expands on the gameplay and combat known to the Splinter Cell series. It emphasises experiment on how you approach your missions as the majority of missions you can approach with gun-fire and action or proceed with stealth, so it expands on the Splinter Cell concept in being secretive in your movements and actions but has enough leeway that certain missions do not penalise you for shooting people without stealth. I believe the overall gameplay quality feels more fresh and fluid and is a clear upgrade from Conviction.

Multiplayer
I enjoyed the classic multiplayer mode of Spies vs. Mercs. It features 4v4 games with different maps. Each map had varied objectives as one map would have the attacking team find positions and plant bombs while the defenders had to defuse them or, the attacking team would have to hack certain positions and get data while the defenders had to stop them. So this mode is fun as there were diverse objectives on varied maps and the servers do have a niche fan base. I found the matches to be rewarding by the end but at the same time, frustrating if on the losing end.

With positives comes its negatives and the multiplayer had some serious and unfixed issues. For one, you cannot leave a multiplayer match, enough said. Secondly, I hated the spawn positioning because there was frequent spawn killing and frequent enemy players spawning right next to some of the objectives. Lastly, online players have very high sensitivity, particularly among walls, because I found a lot of the time I was sprinting I would latch onto walls instead of sprinting and potentially killing an enemy. So, I found the gameplay portion of online to be sloppy.

Performance/Graphics
I played the game on high settings with v-sync off. I obtained mostly a 50-60 FPS window making for mostly smooth gameplay. With these settings, the graphics were good and there were some nice textures and colours, but for the most part they feel dated. My screenshot showcase has some screenshots of within the game and its settings.

Negatives
I was extremely annoyed at the game starting in windowed mode on every launch and also the game reverting to windowed mode whenever I alt-tabbed. I also encountered some bugs in the campaign and multiplayer but the main source of in-game issues was with the coop/side missions component which in some missions was mostly unstable and buggy. Other than these negatives, the other negatives I encountered were mentioned above.

Overall
Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a very strong game that is a true sequel to Conviction. It triumphs in a well-thought out and intense story. It incorporates side missions that add to the game rather than negate from the overall experience. It has compelling characters that are likeable and does not omit their past issues. And, I praise Ubisoft for creativity in regards to the Paladin and the SMI being the main interface. I played 26 hours of Blacklist and the majority was spent in single player, which exceeded my expectations, but the multiplayer hurt my overall score of the game. Regardless, I loved this so I highly recommend this game.

Yet again, Splinter Cell has proven why it is the current best stealth game on the market. I would reccommend this game to anyone who enjoys a good stealth game,

Although I had only ever played the first splinter cell (which I didn't finish), something compelled me to purchase this when it was on sale for 4.99, I am a huge fan of stealth games and most people had this on their list of favourite stealth games, so I tryed it out and truthfully I have really enjoyed this game.

Pros:

The games runs extremely well at Maxed Settings at 1080P (inc Nvidia Exclusive Settings like TXAA 4X and HBAO+), I got a constant 60FPS, and this is a Ubisoft Game!

Story was really enjoyable and Majid Sadiq is an excellent villain.

Plenty of customization options for your gear and weapons.

Choice of how to approach an area and your objectives, kill your enemies or be stealthy and leave their souls intact.

Some missions allow you to kill or spare an enemy.

Leaderboards to compare your scores against your friends.

All Online and COOP Uplay achievements can be got fast and easy (with just one other person needed).

Cons:

Brigg's 4E side missions must be done in COOP and can't be done on your own like the other 4E side missions.

Game has a few bugs, (most were experienced in COOP).

Being forced to kill when you play as Brigg's or in some cases you must kill as Sam in COOP, also there are some areas in the game where you are forced to neutralise the enemies patrolling it, where as most areas in the game you can sneak past the enemies and leave them be.

High Value Targets (HVT'S) being captured subtract from your overall score at the end of the mission (in other words they count as knockouts which have less points then just leaving your enemies undisturbed).

Overall however, I really enjoyed Blacklist and I most go back and play all the other splinter cells as well, as most people found that those games were better then this one.

I like the overall execution of the game, since it's a few miles ahead of Conviction. But on the other hand, it's many miles behind Chaos Theory. The controls are weird, especially since they're mainly geared for third person shooter fans, rather than fans of the original trilogy. For instance, there is no jumping like normal, only contextual parkour (let alone split-jumping, which I loved doing), and the "action" button takes too much use in everything: jumping up walls, activating objective stuff, switching cover, etc.

The cover system is a pain in the ♥♥♥, since it's so restrictive; movement speed is very slow (it is for me, but I'm not sure about everyone else) when leaned up against cover/walls, and there's not much skill involved with using cover-based stealth in this game, since it takes intelligence and patience for the right moment to break cover and concealment just to sneak by the normal way without reliance on the cover system.

Here's a funny mishap with controls: the "bash door" key is the same as the "takedown" key. I tried to KO a guard who was standing right next to a door. Unfortunately, senile old Sam Fisher decided to kick the door instead, alerting the guard, causing him to get lead in the head. Dammit, Sam! You're out of your mind!

Oh yeah, there's no variable speed with PC controls. You have to zoom in with your weapon to move absolutely silently, since crouch-walking can still be heard. You'd have to buy special stealth boots just to not be heard when crouch-walking, which doesn't make sense since Sam is supposed to be an old guy who naturally moves slowly, and therefore shouldn't be too loud when CROUCHING. And the mouse sensitivity is painfully bad, especially when I maxed it out. My hand must patiently align the crosshairs when aiming just so I hit the light bulbs correctly. I hate low sensitivity because it means less precision with aiming, especially when I'm very particular with where I throw/shoot my gadgets.

The main redeeming quality I found was the loadout customization plus the balaclava mod I downloaded. Now, Sam's ugly de-aged face is properly covered up with a ninja mask that suits his job like in the days of old. I don't recommend using the balaclava mod in conjunction with a Spies vs Mercs session, since the multiplayer servers might process the modded files as malicious code that could lead to banning. If you're gonna use the mod, use it only for single and coop, and deactivate it when playing multiplayer. Since I got this game during the sacred Steam Sale (all praise Lord GabeN), I managed to get the Homeland DLC for cheap, allowing me to start the game with Sam's original suit plus Archer's suit.

Lastly, I think the level designs and story are extremely buggy. The levels are broken up into small sections, where any actions taken in previous ones won't affect you in later ones. Like if you left a corpse in a brightly lit hallway, just waiting to get spotted, it won't matter once you leave the section because all that stuff will disappear and de-rezz to make room for the next section. The checkpoint system hates your guts, since certain parts of the game force you to painfully redo stuff all the way at the beginning of the auto-save point when there are so many guards and stuff that you worked your ♥♥♥ off to avoid. Even shot light bulbs and meticulously placed bodies respawn after you restart a checkpoint, even though the game auto-saved in that original state that you purposefully left. As for story, there are too many forced-action sequences that simply could have been avoided with better writing. Like the forced alert stage of the Private Estate mission made no sense. In that mission, Sam decided to hack into the estate's security system to force the bad guy to move to his safe room, of which Sam had no idea where it was because he had to use his sonar goggles to find it. Dammit, that's not good planning at all. He should have just snuck into the guy's bedroom while everyone was sleeping and NOT on alert, in order to kidnap the bad guy undetected.

Special Missions HQ had to be the worst mission I ever had to do, mainly because of the buggy NPCs and their bouts of stupidity and magical detection abilities, as well as the fact that lots of crap went down in that level story-wise. First, Sam got into a trap and a firefight in the first few minutes of that level, due to his newly-found senility and stupidity. Next, he spent the last few minutes of the game desperately trying to escape, only to find a bunch of heavily armed guards and vehicles just waiting for him. That is not stealthy at all, especially since that missions ends with a UAV segment where you shoot down trucks chasing Sam's van... using missiles and machine guns. He should have just found a better way into the HQ without relying on an untrustworthy general that led him into a trap, and he should have found a way to not alert the whole place that an intruder was around and messing things up. His escape should've been stealthier too, without the need for saving his ♥♥♥ with drone strikes.
