About This Game

Thousands of giant insects and aliens once again ravage the earth, and only the Earth Defense Force can stop them. Defend the city of New Detroit against an infestation bigger and meaner than ever before. Destroy these monsters at all costs, even if it means turning entire city blocks into rubble!
Enjoy raw arcade shooter satisfaction on a gigantic modern scale. Collect over 300 weapons: assault rifles, rocket launchers, energy weapons, sniper rifles, grenade launchers and more! Play with 4 upgradeable armor types: Jetpack, Battle, Tactical, and Trooper. Experience Massive replayability through arcade style scoring, tons of weapons to collect, and multiple difficulty levels in every game mode!
In addition, the game also features a six player Survival mode that pits a human squad against a nonstop onslaught of the largest enemies the aliens have to offer. New Detroit’s giant bug problem is unavoidable, and mankind’s last hope lies with the Earth Defense Force. Defend the world from the insect invasion, even if it means blowing up the entire city as part of the extermination process.
Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon and the soldiers are equipped better than ever in the latest cult classic iteration that follows in the footsteps of Earth Defense Force 2017 (Japanese Title “Earth Defense Force 3” developed by Sandlot), and Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon continues the rich history and hardcore fun of the series.

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: INSECT ARMAGEDDON IS:

_An action game featuring probably the most craziest mayhem ever showed in a game
_Impressive with its stunny weapons effects, BOOM BAM BIM POUF SPLOUSH! (Not necessarily in the good order)
_Giving to the player the real feeling to be into a real war
_Demanding too much grinding for the achievements even if the game is fun as hell, it isn't an excuse to make such trophies...
_A non-stop "killing bugs" video game
_Quite challenging
_A bit repetitive even with its huge content
_Featuring more of 300 weapons (What a bunch of toys doesn't it?) which are enough varied with some different caracteristics (Like Blast area, damage, fire rate, reload time, different types of auto -locks or even manual ones etc...)
_Acting by 4 different classes well chosen and balanced (Unique skills and weapons for each one)

EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: INSECT ARMAGEDDON ISN'T:

_A good port (From the Xbox) as it runs at 30 FPS (A fix has been created but it may creating bugs... Nah not these such bugs xD)
_Bad on its powerness feeling, as a shooter game; you'll feel for real what the word "power" means!
_Expensive at all and that game worth it
_A short game as you can play Campaign mode (15 missions) Campaign mode remix (Same stuff in addition of randoms enemies) and a survival mode (No comment)
_Cool on solo however coop is great fun with your buddies
_Too serious with a bit of humor on the story (Listen carefully the Intel xD)
_Original that's definitively sure but the actual threat and how the game has been made is really unique
_Ugly graphically and everything can be destroyed (buildings, cars etc...) EVERYTHING i said!
_An AAA title however EDF try to looks like a big title and it's pretty well done

Ok this game could be named "Just shoot and reload" and it's absolutely a brainless action-game, does it needs to be avoided at all costs? Nah, it's fun on coop, it's fun to finish a mission on "Inferno" mode and it's fun to remind that old feeling when we all were kids playing our toys against imagineries army of... whatever we've thought xD Cool game!

Global note:6,5/10
Difficulty on average & 100%:6/10

When i was much younger, me and my brother were terrible at picking games. we picked the no rep, "meh" review games that werent popular. we didnt care. We picked the game based on the cover. Lo and behold one day we got our grubby hands on EDF 2017. we both together spent at least 300 hours on the game. we never beat it on inferno. that being said, I was excited for this game to come out. after quite a few hours of play, i have come up with two reviews. first one is for long time EDF players, second is for newcomers to the franchise, behold the reviews underneath.

Newcomer review
Pros:
-giant bugs to shoot and kill
-many different unique weapons, including some useless unique ones
-four classes each with their own unique weapos. perks, and skills
-robots
-not your average shooter
-funny comentary
-good replay value
-WTF these weapons are so cool and "weird"! they are not your usual shooter guns

Cons
-gameplay may be repetative especially if you use the same weapons over and over
-30 fps lock
-cant use all weapons with all classes
-short story

Long time EDF players
Pros
-nostalgia
-new enemies
-new maps

Cons
Okay, before i get into cons, these are for those who specifically want that old nostalgic feel. there will be a lot

-classes. you cant use all weapons with all classes and it loses that feeling of you being just a soldier amongst the ranks
-weapons arent that unique compared to 2017. no assult rifles that have 999 rounds, about as accurate as a political campaign and deals massive damage. no more 100m blast radius rockets. etc.
-hectors dont flinch. i used to spray them just to keep the bullets away, now all you can do is run
-wasps. f*cking wasps. all they do is fly so fast they give you a headache and they have lots of health.
-ant hills dont die after shooting them. you have to plant bombs. bloody annoying when you have 150 ants around you squirting acid and your plant gets reset.
-vehicles are garbage, but even worse than 2017 garbage
-explosions hurt you. no more running into the center of the explosion to pick up the weapons crate
-what a terrible campaign. so short, story is terrible, and levels arent unique. no underground, no beach, just city maps.

overall, great game for newcomers to the series. if you play the game you will LOVE it, but then will wonder just how much better the others can be. if you have an xbox, i recommend you pick up 2017 immediately.
