About This Game

Fresh out of the lair of Dreamatrix Game Studios, Legends of Dawn invites players to the brutal northerly reaches of Narr. Survival depends on you, your magic and your sword.
What sets Legends of Dawn apart, is the freedom of play expressed in several key attributes that are rarely seen in typical RPG genres. We have poured our passion and creativity into taking you on an enthralling ride away from wearisome reality, by providing you with the choice to be whatever your heart desires, in Legends of Dawn.

Of course, the choices you make during game play does not prevent you from trying something else later, or simultaneously if you wish. You could combine the sword and the magic, be a powerful crafter or anything else. Legends of Dawn liberates from class restrictions unlike real life. Class, race and differences exist within the game but after choosing your own race and gender, all else can be altered without restarting the game.

Another quality that makes Legends of Dawn interesting, is the freedom of direction and movement. Most games force a player to follow the main storyline and forbid any deviation, or significant veering off the set course. Legends of Dawn is more sympathetic to your playing needs. You are free to wander wherever tickles your fancy within the continent, without limitations, under one condition. Stay alive. We have been careful to ensure that the quests only suggest, rather than impose direction of movement. Your journey is in your hands alone.

In addition to all those remarkable features already mentioned, you are bound to notice another cool thing about Legends of Dawn. The absence of loading screen. It would have been so much easier to create a game that would constantly force you to wait before the screen while new contents load, but Dreamatrix is aware that your time is too valuable to waste. We put our heads together and created our very own engine that discreetly streams content in the background, in real time. You are free to enter houses, caves, dungeons, temples, new regions and so much more, without those pesky loading screens interrupting your playing pleasure.

In order to provide you with such blissful range of possibilities, we had to create a rather large world called Narr. The world of Narr in Legends of Dawn, spans across continents through stunning picturesque landscape that stimulates the mind. There are magical regions where the mountains and hills defy gravity, buoyant as balloons. We have also created countless dungeons awaiting for you to discover what mysteries lie within their cold depths, as well as camps, impressive docks and grim fortresses that bear silent witness to battles. Mausoleums and cemeteries also await your exploration. The hikes over unforgiving mountains and canyons are sure to thrill the most ardent explorer. Graceful flying islands and mystical swamps instil a sense of awe that could nudge you to cross the threshold of the serene temples and shrines to pay your respects to the gods of the land. With so much more on offer than is mentioned here, there is no reason why Legends of Dawn should not become your favourite RPG.

I normally only give a game a review if I like it. I figure, to each their own, and maybe I just didn't like a game because it wasn't for me - so why waste my time writing up a negative review?

In its current state, I don't think you should buy this. Plain and simple. I take the Metascores with a grain of salt, but this one really lives up to the score. Overlooking the graphics, the game just isn't up to par. Constantly having to click to move (can't just hold the mouse button down), while trying to avoid getting your character stuck on who-knows-what in the process, is just painful.

I like isometric RPGs (Diablo, Baulder's Gate, Torchlight, etc), and I figured I'd finally give this game a try since it got buried with a bunch of other games from some bundle.

The first NPC you see after spawning asks you to get your gear from a chest on the ship. Is it the ship directly in my field of view, right behind the NPC? My gut says "yes," but my character couldn't seem to board that sucker. I could manage to click him to the top of the plank, and then I was met with an impenetrable wall. After about 5 minutes of clicking around, mucking around on the dock, and coming back, I was able to finally get on the ship by clicking near the crate on the downward plank. I have no idea how or why it worked, but it did. Now where's that chest with my gear? I dunno. And don't get me started on stairs - traversing any non-level surface is going to make you want to jab an old #2 pencil in your eye and break it off.

This really should have been an Early Access beta release, as the game does have some bugs and glitches, and doesn't feel stable enough for the retail market. I wish the dev team luck, and I really hope they can make this game rise from the ashes, because there's a lot of potential awesomeness here.

Kickstarted this, so I was able to play hot off the presses- As soon as it loaded, I wasn't impressed. The intro loading screens lagged and glitched, some of the hair models look way misaligned, and there's no real introduction to the game- I had (and still have!) no idea what I'm supposed to be doing.

Now, months later, I think to myself "Well, they've patched things, maybe it's better." It isn't. This game wasn't worth the fifteen or twenty I paid for it, and I pity those who only went higher in kickstarter tiers.

Don't waste your money.

Incomplete fighting mechanics, poor animations, low quality graphics, buggy gameplay and performance - just a few initial observations to a game that seemed to promise an updated gaming experience equivalent to Bioware's Neverwinter Nights game. In its current state Legends of Dawn is nowhere near that pedigree. A resounding disappointment all around. I hope the developer returns my faith in this game one day.

This game didn't really work. It failed to deliver on its promises, and I found doing even basic activites extremely difficult if not impossible. As a specific example, one early game quest asks you to pick some apples from trees. However, there was no way to interact with any of the trees. I traveled to the supposed quest area, thinking that perhaps the apples were on the ground, or that they dropped from enemies- but to no avail. I was apple-less.

I ignored that and went on with the game, thinking that it would get better... but it just does not. There are a number of game-breaking bugs, such as magic regeneration not actually scaling properly to your stat. In fact, my magic meter would not fill above the actual number of my regeneration stat, despite the stat claiming to raise regen speed and maximum amount. I had something like 22/108 mana as my 'max,' making my wizard playstyle terrible. Overall, I was very disappointed with this game.

The game is crashing always. Have to restart the whole system. So, if the developers cannot fix this, I cannot recommend the game to anyone.
Game looks good, but the crashes are frustrating as hell.

This was a game I backed on Kickstarter. Still haven't been able to play it because it crashes with a C++ runtime error.

This game had tons of promise; but somewhere along the way the devs seemed to lose their drive. Bugs galore in the early version of the game drove many players (including me) crazy. In good faith we waited, and waited, and waited for improvements that just never came. Do not waste your money on this game.

Why is this game still allowed on the steam store?? High end PC worth over 1.6k from just a few months ago and it cant even play it, what kind of space age techonology is needed? I have only ever been able to make a character so ill comment on that, the character models are worse then ARPGs from 4-5 years ago (Titan Quest for example) Ive had the game for over a year, the hairstyles are just different polygons of colour, calling it hair is a joke the only good looking one is the ♥♥♥♥ing bald option. VALVE YOU MUST PUT DOWN YOUR FOOT WITH THIS ♥♥♥♥, I have multiple Early access games some are slow some might not see their promised potential but this is the first game Ive bought on steam in over 10 years that felt like a legitament scam. Do not buy this game, do not buy it, do not buy it.

After wrestling with PhysX (having to uninstall & reinstall the existing PhysX drivers for some reason) to get the game itself to run (beyond the character generation), I walked into town, tried to talk to someone in the trade guild, and the game promptly locked up. Not exactly a positive first impression.

Unfinished and badly done game. Even tough I'm from Croatia, same as developers, I just can't find a pro for this game. Overall game is just plainly bad, and another thing not helping the game is that patches are few and far inbetween. Game that looked promising ended as a big dissappointment in the end. Avoid at all costs.

It's really terrible right from the start. I really love this genre of game, and I'm someone who will chew through a lot of gristle to get at the prime meat, but there just wasn't any here.

I tried to like this game but in the end I have too many problems with it to keep playing.

1. The achievements in the game and also on Steam either don't work or randomly work. In the game you need to kill X amount of this and that to get the achievements and supposedly something extra when you achieve them. I have killed hundreds of spiders and humans and the game says I have killed some random number like 3 or 17. If it worked it would be cool but it doesn't work so it sucks.

2. Inventory
While you have a good amount of inventory slots. Most things do not stack and if they do stack, they stack to a random number. Ore stacks to 5. Some bottle of wine etc. stacks to 2. One type of thread stacks to 2 while another doesn't stack at all. The unlocking runes don't stack at all. To make the inventory and looting stuff worse, when you loot something that can stack it doesn't so half your game time is stacking things in your bag to make space for other things.

3. Camera
This is a really bad camera angle for a game. You can't see anything in the distance. If you scroll out your camera somehow you can see even less. I have no idea why but it is true. Houses and mountains, etc. are invisible sometimes while they load in. Once when I loaded a save the world was black. The ui was there but nothing else.

4. Box unlocking game
It is not a bad idea. But 3 different sets of runes that don't stack in your bags makes the whole thing a mess. One set of runes that could stack would make it much better.

5. Magic system
The magic system is ok. I liked making my own spells out of the runes I found. But again these damn runes don't stack in your bag and you also keep the magic you make in your bag. I didn't play a mage like character. I had one spell that could pretty much kill anything I came across. It cost all my mana so I could only use it when I was full of mana.

6. Crafting
I like the way crafting is done. But the problem with it is..... I found a level 9 axe with crafted bonuses in a box when I was level 2. You can't craft a level 9 axe until you are atleast Level 9 and I imagine or hope that I will get another weapon before I am level 9. I like the idea of making some pants over and over to get a rare pants but with the really bad inventory problems crafting is a huge chore.

7. The fighting is not great but it is ok and if it weren't for the other problems I would have finished the game.

8. The quests are ok. It is possible some are bugged. Maybe I am not a great explorer but I can't find a shipwreck anywhere northwest of the village.

I like this type of game but I cannot recommend this to anybody. Legends of Dawn has some good ideas but ruined them with really bad inventory problems and a bunch of things that either do not work or just make no sense.
