To all negative reviews saying that buildings catch on fire too often: learn to play the game. As long as your population has all its needs satisfied, you will never have criminals. I've played the campaign multiple times and never ONCE had a criminal light a building on fire.

7.5/10

I like it so far still trying to get the hang of the game but I enjoy it and I think that those strategy demons out there that love a good strategy mixed with a little bit of simulation I think that you will like this game as well as others with the same feel.

This is a surprisingly solid game in the out of fashion genre of city builders, most comparable to the Caesar/Pharoah/Emperor series. It's got a weird learning curve since there are a shockingly large variety of different mechanics behind resources but once it's understood it's quite fun. There's a lot of content and a long campaign of reasonably bite sized missions.

I'd buy if you're into this sort of city-building, RTS game. There's nothing particularly impressive about it and the camera controls are a little wonky, but it's entertaining enough. I wouldn't pay full price though.

There is a dual monitor issue the very first time you play the game (it crashes), but it only seems to affect the very first time you run the game. I left the dual monitor on when playing subsequently and haven't had any further issues.

If you like ancient city building games, then this is one to play. Graphically its impressive and viewing the citizens go about their lives is nice. This game does however have its down side. It lacks in combat in my opinion and resource management is confusing. The maps are hit and miss as well. Overall though it is a lot of fun to build a large Roman City. 79/100

Fun all the way through, until eventually the Multiplayer Servers were shut down. I bought this game specifically to challenge myself and my friends into who could build the better town. Sadly, I can no longer do that. However, whilst the game was still Live.. It was super exciting, Quick and actually made me think! There are many ways to build a Town and conquer the rest in the Neighborhood, how will you build?

This game looks exactly like Civ City: Rome that works tho. I still don't see anything unique besides the annoying Text-To-Speech narrator.
If you like slow-paced management, this game is for you.

(The vote is still a Yes for the effort put in the game.)

I give this game a 2/5... Mainly because of the camera movement and building placement controls... Also it is very limited in details, the number of commodities and strategies..... This is basically a knock-off of a very old game called Caesar III by Sierra Games... Caesar III was so popular, it spun off other titles such as Caesar IV , Zeus , Pharaoh , and Poseidon.... If you want to play a city building game based on Roman times, I suggest you get Caesar III instead of this game... The gameplay is full of detail, logical, and the controls in the game are strait forward and easy to use.... It's going for $10 on Amizon.com ... 9-14-2014

I bought this game because years ago I was a fan of the Impressions Games city-building series, particularly Caesar and Pharoah. This game builds on the same premise, with the building of cities in Rome while raising armies to attack and defend. Like Pharoah, it is a blend of city-building simulation and RTS except there is a stronger implementation of the RTS elements here.

Visually, the game looks pretty good. Not the best graphics by modern standards, but bounds above the old Impressions games.

The biggest problem with this game is that it's a lot to learn and take in very quickly. There are some tutorials for that, though. It's not the steepest learning curve, it's nothing compared to some of the Paradox games, but it is a game that requires you take the time to learn it.

I will always go back to this game to loose yet again, to watch my buildings burn to the ground in utter shame. For how ever often I leave this milestone in gaming history, it always pulls be back for more.
Is it the feeling of playing God, or just those wonderful animations of buildings popping up?
The game has a lot of depth and can catch you out if your not quick enough to see a crysis looming up.
I had a pig, grape, weat and somthing else farm going and yet still my buildings were burnt because of food not being varied enough!?
I warmly recommend this game because it grasps hold of those simple human needs and pulls on your emosional strings so well ;-]
Tip Do both tutorials!

Its better than it looks. I got this on a side deal from some game, Warband i guess.. It turned being good, im enjoying it. If you liked old days of caesar city builder, or pharaoh, this is a good game. It have even more history and culture on Rome than Rome 2! Well, TBH Rome 2 is pretty bad and blunt. Anyway, apart from some bad drawings and lack of a proper in game manual/encyclopedia, this game is good.

If you like city building games set in ancient times, get this one. It seems to be easier compared to other city building games like Caesar but overall, it's a good game. I wish there are more games like this.

I like this game. Yes, its kind of dated and visuals are way less than todays standards. And, thinking back even when this game came out 4 years ago, the graphics wouldve been pretty poor. But their functional. This game starts out slow as you learn and you wonder if it will get good....and I have to say Its kept me pretty interested. Rome and Greece are my favorite periods for strategy gaming (and ww2 of course). So I can recommend this game for you. Especially at this price.

It's ok, but feels somewhat low budget and very arcady. Gameplay is very rushed (unless you exploit a bug). And I find the music bloody terrible, to the point of it being distracting. I do like the free-style building of towns where the buildings can merge into one another and the roads can be bent to your liking when you place them so you can make a natural-looking place.
