The rest of the facility’s personnel have all been killed – micro-chipped and reactivated as combatants by the facility’s central processing AI.

Teleglitch: Die More Edition is a roguelike top-down shooter with retro pixel graphics. Teleglitch: Die More Edition is a top-down 3D, yet highly pixelated, rogue-like shooter in which you play the role as a lone survivor of some drastic event. Fighting through hordes of mutants, this game is hard as nails and can be quite frustrating at some points with the games perma-death feature causing you to restart the entire game. With that being said, I doubt a casual gamer would enjoy this game due to the extreme difficulty at some points. The controls are simplistic and easy to use for keyboard and mouse but proved to be a slight challenge with aiming on a controller due to enemies moving quickly. Text can be difficult to decypher at some points in large blocks due to it's low resolution making the plot hard to follow causing me not to want to bother. Even with these faults, the game is pretty fun to play and can be done in short bursts with the ability to save after a level which can be continued later. I never played whatever the normal edition of Teleglitch, assuming there is one, so I am unable to compare what is updated in this edition. If you wan't a challenge, definitely try this game out.

First off, I'm no stranger to difficult games. I like a fair challenge. But this game feels like it it built with the intention of not being beaten. The game is really fun, very challenging. But I have to give it a negative review because after 25 hrs playing the game. I haven't been able to play through a large portion of the game because of the permadeath mechanic. It works in many games, but not this one. This particular game takes way more time to beat to beat than any other rougelike and offers no reward for doing well. (Isaac gives the player access to special items if they accomplish certain task.) When you lose nothing is gained for the player and the game just mocks you. The majority of deaths you will suffer will be instant, making you lose all of your progress. Because the game spawns aimbot enemies in rooms you've cleared already, the game doesn't prepare or warn you for certain encounters. One example is the cyborgs you encounter after level 3. If you haven't seen them before, they will guaranteed kill immediatley. These are the first enemies you encounter with firearms and will fire at you with pinpoint accuracy. Unless you have materials to make armor. But rng may prevent you from aquiring the materials needed to build it. If this happens you are screwed. And it will.

I feel they only implememented the permadeath mechanic to make the game feel harder. But realistically many games like Dark Souls are considered to be very hard despite having a lenient checkpoint/ bonfire system. If they were to alter the game so that people could play through the whole game to have the full experience it can offer it would be more fun. If they do that, I just hope they do it in such a way that the difficulty isn't compromised. I keep going back to this game hoping some things would change. However, no matter how many times I've attempted it thus far, I can't reach level 6. I won't get to reach the final boss, build the best weapons, or explore the endgame maps. Thats why I can't rate the game positively.

This game is a prime example of more made from less. Despite its simple pixelated graphics it more than compensates with atmosphere, storyline dictated through terminals, awesome game mechanics, and the feeling of tension and horror in every moment you play. I've logged upwards of 40 some hrs and only beat it once. By the skin of my teeth. Definatley agree there should be a sequel (doesnt matter graphics revamp or no). this game proved a great game isnt dependent upon looks alone.

This game is, needless to say, a game that is pretty hard. But, the game is also very fun and easy to learn. It however isn't all that hard to master.

PROS:
-superb retro style and sound
-interesting story that you get more of from terminals you encounter
-enemies are moreorless fun to combat

CONS:
-so far for me, the lack of enemy variety is kinda disappointing*
-melee combat is an easy way to die(for me, at least).

All in all, the game is fun and interesting, but definatly not worth the asking price. i'd prefer it to be $4.99, so get it when there's a sale

close to 50 hours into the game and i still havent beaten it. ive gotten pretty far, but damn is this game difficult. i mean it is very difficult, but at the same time it is very very fun, and very rewarding to play. it feels very rewarding to finally beat the snake robot boss and advance to the next level.

as with any proper rogue-like you can only really advance in the game once you really understand the game. once you get the mechanics down, and you understand how the enemies behave, the strong and weak points of the guns. and of course you must really understand and be able to strategies your play through. inventory management is a must, you have to plan out if you are going to keep this item or that in hopes of using it in a later game to craft a certain item, or if you want to discard it in favor of carrying another item.

you also have to take into account ammo. do i really want to use up my ammo on these enemies now or should i save it for later and try to kill them with my knife, risking taking health damage. to get far in the game you must understand when to do this and when not to, along with other gameplay choices to make. and i think this is what this game does well and what makes it so fun and rewarding to play. you will die a lot before you understand these things, but if you pull through all those deaths you will get good and find this game to be excellent.

I'm a little biased, since I wrote a very large mod for this title, but... well, I ~cared~ enough to write a very large mod for this title, which should tell you something.

I think Teleglitch is a game which needs a sequel that's much more polished. It has a brilliance that shines through much of its crudity and balance problems.

It is, frankly, one of the few procedural-dungeon twin-stick shooters I'd honestly recommend to anybody to give it a go, because it gets a lot of things right, even if it doesn't get everything right.

Teleglitch, vanilla, is a Nintendo-hard twin-stick shooter that is basically about stabbing zombies with a knife over and over and over whilst not getting hit. It also has guns and a crafting system and bombs and a bunch of other things, but most of them don't matter, because there is so little ammo available that it's basically a game where ammo-hoarding to deal with certain enemies is the only way to survive the entire game.

I don't think all of that was well-done; I made a mod that basically re-configures the experience into something I personally found more fun. You can find it by reading through the comment threads here.

But the core idea- that you're alone in the dark, you cannot see everywhere, you're going to be constantly worrying about the next critter around the corner- these things are brilliantly realized. Few games, let alone games so simple, have been able to so convincingly create a real sense of worry and dread in Yours Truly; I don't think I've been so jump-scared since I played the original Resident Evil and the dogs crashed through that window (a reference most of you won't get, but trust me, it's one of the first truly Scary Things in video-game history).

I'd really like to see a better Teleglitch engine, with higher-resolution graphics, tighter gameplay and multiple difficulty settings so that it isn't so forbiddingly hard for newbies to the genre. Sadly, I doubt if we ever will see a sequel unless somebody else writes one, but it's a game where I think that the central feel and core will stick with me always.

None of what Teleglitch did was really "new", but it was all brought together pretty well, and even though there are rough edges and areas that I felt could have been better, it is far more fun than the many, many, many boring "roguelight" games that are essentially just variations on Smash TV, with their boring, square arenas and no sense of place and poorly-designed RNG systems under the hood taking skill out of the equation.

Teleglitch, by comparision, is almost entirely a game where a player's death is almost always the player's fault, not the fault of some developer's poor understanding of statistics; it's a game where exploration is risky but properly rewarded, and if the knife just worked a bit better and it had difficulty settings, it probably would have sold a lot more copies.

Teleglitch: Die More Edition vás dostane do moderní doby plné pixelové grafiky,to ovšem neznamená že hra není kvalitní a nezajímavá,právě že naopak. Příběh se motá kolem ruzných základen a teleportu,který vás má dostat kamkoliv jen chcete.Problém je ten,že něco se pokazilo a tak se stroje a lidi trošku pobláznili a teď jsou zde mutanti,zombie,roboti a lidé kteří vás chtějí zabít. Právě vy zde máte rozšířený arzenál zbraní a ruzných vytvářecích (craftících) receptů.Bomby,lepší zbraně,armor (brnění) a léky. Vaším cílem je přežít hromadné útoky zombie,které se v každem dalším kole zvětšují a jsou těžší a dojít až do teleportu. Spoléhat na hru,že vám dá vše co potřebujete na boj, je velmi špatné,protože již od začátku samotné hry si vytváříte vaši "budoucnost". To že vystřílíte vaši veškerou munici v prvním kole,vás docela zaskoči v druhém kole,protože je zde dobré si hlídat počet munice,léků a životů.
Mé první dojmy byly vskutku zajímavé,ale po chvilce hraní a pár umrtí se vám to dostane pod kůži.
Dojmy mé přítelkyně,cituji "já nevidím svou postavu,kde je?"
Možná pixely trošku zmátnou na začátku, ale to je uplně v pořádku.

Verdikt: Teleglitch si skutočne zaslúži svoj podtitul Die More Edition. V hre totiž budete veľmi často zomierať, zomierať a zomierať ako je tomu v Dark Souls. Hra nepodporuje voľné ukladanie pozície. Po úmrtí hráč musí začať hrať danú úroveň od začiatku. K tomu všetkému sa ešte pridáva systém náhodného generovania úrovní. S každým nahraním pozície sa úroveň mení. Pri prechádzaní tak náročnej hry by bodla pomoc spoluhráča, ale Teleglitch nepodporuje multiplayer. Herná doba závisí priamo od hráča, keďže hra je naozaj náročná. Zaujímavosťou hry je jej dizajn, hoci nie každému sa môže pozdávať retro. Teleglitch je zaujímavou kúskom hlavne pre hráčov, ktorí obľubujú ťažšie hry, pre ostatných je vhodné pri jej hraní občas vypustiť nervy behom okolo bydliska.
