This Luxor is pretty fun except there is a game breaking problem with the cursor. When you get furthur into the game the program won't block out your mouse cursor and when you get too far below it keeps pausing the game to no end. For that reason I uninstalled and can't recommend this particular one.

Can you match colored balls of poop being pushed by a dung beetle before it reaches the hole at the end?

Also this takes place in Egypt.

There are a half dozen more Luxor games, I'd recommend a later one if you're looking for this style of game.

not bad, but simple mechanic and gets repetitive very fast. I got through the second set and was not interested in going further. Got this in a bundle and for less than $1 it was a 5/10 because I had some fun with it. No way I would pay $10 for it which is the current full retail.

its exacly what you expect it to be-an ordinary luxor game
it has much more levels then the previous game. each level is qnique with its own speed and design. and ofcorse it has a "Adventure mod" offerring more then 70 levels(in addition to the survival mod)
there are also small bonus levels you achivme with certain amount of points.
this game is just fun to play when you are bored :)

I don't know which one came first. Luxor or Zuma... but they're essentially the same game with a slightly different theme. Zuma focuses on an inca/aztec style while Luxor focuses on ancient Egypt.

They're not 100% clones of each other, and neither one was terribly original to begin with. Basically, a stream of colored balls come rolling along a path and you have to launch other colored balls so that when 3 or more of the same color are side by side, they disappear.

Zuma occasionally makes a ball glow to signify that it contains a powerup, and luxor makes any 3 consecutive matches give a random power up. Some of the power ups are very much the same (notably the one that gives you a laser sight to show you where the ball will wind up) and some are way different, such as the dagger powerup which allows you to eliminate single balls with each shot.

It's fun enough to play for 10-30 minutes at a time but after that it starts wearing thin. There just isn't enough progression through the game to make it feel like you're doing anything other than clearing a level (set number of waves? Predermined score? I have no idea).

I think the edge in this case goes to Zuma Deluxe by PopCap. It just has more character to it and some occasional humor. This game is much more dry by comparison. They're both still fun (in small doses) though.

Received this game as part of a bundle. Probably would not have bought it separately but I do enjoy it.

It is addictive but it is one of those games I can only play for 30 minutes at a shot.
