I don't know which one came first. Luxor or Zuma... but they're essentially the same game with a slightly different theme. Zuma focuses on an inca/aztec style while Luxor focuses on ancient Egypt.

They're not 100% clones of each other, and neither one was terribly original to begin with. Basically, a stream of colored balls come rolling along a path and you have to launch other colored balls so that when 3 or more of the same color are side by side, they disappear.

Zuma occasionally makes a ball glow to signify that it contains a powerup, and luxor makes any 3 consecutive matches give a random power up. Some of the power ups are very much the same (notably the one that gives you a laser sight to show you where the ball will wind up) and some are way different, such as the dagger powerup which allows you to eliminate single balls with each shot.

It's fun enough to play for 10-30 minutes at a time but after that it starts wearing thin. There just isn't enough progression through the game to make it feel like you're doing anything other than clearing a level (set number of waves? Predermined score? I have no idea).

I think the edge in this case goes to Zuma Deluxe by PopCap. It just has more character to it and some occasional humor. This game is much more dry by comparison. They're both still fun (in small doses) though.

Wow they must have really hated Luxor 1, because they changed absolutely everything. It's still a Zuma clone, but the graphics and gameplay have all changed. I've only played a few levels so far, but first impression tells me that it's still fun, but the ball speed and rate of fire are way too slow. Even with the "speed ball" powerup it's slow compared to Luxor 1 & zuma.

its exacly what you expect it to be-an ordinary luxor game
it has much more levels then the previous game. each level is qnique with its own speed and design. and ofcorse it has a "Adventure mod" offerring more then 70 levels(in addition to the survival mod)
there are also small bonus levels you achivme with certain amount of points.
this game is just fun to play when you are bored :)

Luxor as still running from the first, a good series. However with this PC version, very very buggy in Windows 8. If you are on Windows 8, here are some bugs to expect: sometimes during start-up, game will just be a black or white screen, user profile and progress will reset randomly, main menu may freeze. So the time that I have had to play it, it was fun and enjoyable. After all these bugs started acting up, I just stopped. Such a shame, for it's a fun game. So yes buy it if you use anything but Windows 8 or higher.

A very addictive match three game. The repetitiveness makes it kind of boring towards the end though.

Received this game as part of a bundle. Probably would not have bought it separately but I do enjoy it.

It is addictive but it is one of those games I can only play for 30 minutes at a shot.

Mmm.... naah, it doesn't get a pass from me. For a puzzle game, it's just too basic. It really doesn't do anything different.
