“Even for those unfamiliar with the ever-expanding Marvel universe, Dark Reign’s use of collection and randomized drops make it compulsively, sickeningly playable.”

“Takes the unlikely pairing of Marvel heroes and match-3 makes it fun. Lots to do besides the story missions. Entertaining, surprisingly humorous dialogue.”

Well, another match-3 game, this one with a Marvel super heroes skin slapped on it.
The game does look flashy, and it's not that bad.

You can assemble your avengers and do "battles" against forces of evil. From certain levels you can win "comic covers" which will give you a new hero or level up their skills. And iso points to level up their level. :/ it's a bit of an odd leveling system there, where you have to level up skills first before you can level up your heroes, but oh well... it works.

But again the play limiting+pay to play system is in place.
This time it doesn't limit your play directly, but rather; when your heroes get beat up, they need time to heal back up. Or BUY a healthpack (oh well, at least you can win these too). See where that's heading? Yup... Another one of thóse things.
At least you can keep playing as long as you're on a lucky streak.

My recommendation for all of these terrible play limiting/pay2play games is negative.
I'm not recommending anyone to stay away from them (unless they have an addictive personality), but I'd certainly recommend anyone not to put a single dime into these terrible payment models. They're not worth it.

This game has the potential to be a great match-3 type game. I thouroughly enjoyed the original Puzzle Quest game so I thought I'd give this a try. I was really enjoying it until I realized how much money will need to be dumped into the game to unlock things that are needed. The microtransactions in this game are ridiculous! I have no problem throwing a few bucks here and there at a dev that has a quality product, but the costs are so bad that it's not worth my time. Reduce the cost of the microtransactions and I MIGHT play it again.

Let's see...they recently completely screwed up the 2-star Magneto to ensure that waaaayyy fewer people would be able to achieve the Deadpool Daily, and now they're adding third-rate characters at light speed so we'll be sure to spend our gold on those character slots so that we can actually play. Add in that this thing just crashed on me for the umpteenth time tonight (nothing else crashes on this machine, BTW...only this app (Steam version), ensuring that my characters end up injured and unable to complete a level in a time-limited event (not to mention the health packs I burned on them just before starting the fight where it crashed at the beginning)), and I'm starting to think that I need to abandon this game entirely...

It used to be great. But the devs keep releasing bullcrap to try to force spending, and the bugs are costing me awards and time. I think I'll go back to playing FPSs...this thing is giving me a rash now. Maybe if they fix it, I'll come back.

Game is decent at best. The advantages the computer has is ridiculous. Constantly color starving you, massive cascades, and extra turns. It happens very often, one turn and the match is over for you. You can do this as well, but no where near the extent it happens for the computer. If you haven't invested much into the game, it is not worth it. It is a free game heavily designed as pay to win.

The game is tailored to have you spend money. Of course this is the main purpose of the game. Be it you spend money to try to get characters, to buy slots, to advance your characters to a point that you can compete, or just to heal so you can participate in events. The game is just not fun, it is tedious and repetitive. They constantly recycle events and try to force you to spend money in order to get the required characters to compete. If you are not a Marvel fan, it is probably best to avoid this game. 1 out of 10.

Bait and switch microtransaction galore... you would expect a match-three game to be casual, but actually if you want to get anywhere in this game you must play at least an hour and a half every eight hours every day, every night - its a grindy borefest. The company doesnt care about playerbase, they just want to squeeze money from people before they eventually realize the game sucks and quit.
