As you can see I have been intensely addicted to this game for months now. And the game WAS fantastic. However, in what I still cannot comprehend, the dev's at D3 have decided that they no longer want people to become addicted to their game. They no longer want us telling our friends how fun it is, how they should give it a go and become MPQ addicts like we are. No... now they have taken any sense of allowing their players the freedom to play when they want, how they want, w/ whatever characters they CHOOSE to play and have thrown it all in the garbage.
I am an AVID supporter of games and developers who show that they care for, listen to, and support the player community which gives them a job, a fan base, and a slew of addicts who advertise this game as a wonderful time-sink to all their friends/family/co-workers for free. But apparently, FREE advertising doesn't figure into their bottom line and they would rather lose 1000's of loyal players if it means that 1-2 people w/ the fortune and freedom to invest money at will into buying extra lives every time the RNG unluckily kills off all their characters. Loyal players who will NEVER pay for, what would be, an endless need for health-packs to keep playing at the times these players have allotted themselves to play... are GONE. The only competition new players, or even players looking to experiment and try different character/team set-ups, will face are going to be these whales that invest so much money into the game that they are UNBEATABLE. NO NEW PLAYER WILL STAND A CHANCE when the only competition left are those with pockets deep enough to make it utterly unfair.
I will continue to log on 1x -2x a day, in hopes that the dev's will realize, acknowledge, and correct this unfathomably inept decision to cut the legs out from any player who is new, growing, learning, or trying to figure out if the game is WORTH spending real money on. It makes 0 sense. NONE. AT ALL.
If this isn't fixed in a week, I will uninstall this game and move on w/ my life. And, if you check the hours I have put into playing, I thoroughly understand the mechanics behind the game as well as the MASSIVE hindrance this change would put into my own ability to play. And I'm not someone w/ a poor roster just wanting to get a feel for it and decide if it's worth my time and money.
By refusing to let players develop their own style, experiment w/ different characters w/o the feeling that, if they lose, they'll have to wait 2-6 hours before they can play again, this product is going to plunge into the depths of being another 'free-to-play' game which is in NO WAY competitive, fair, enjoyable, or worth our time and money.
People who love this game and play it daily are already dropping out, along w/ their free advertising... New players will be faced w/ unbeatable teams funded by players w/ pockets deep enough to not care, and this MASSIVELY UNAPPEALING wall of dead-time where they can do NOTHING but sit and wait for the game to slowly heal them over a 2-6 hour period. IT IS PURELY BAFFLING TO NOT BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND HOW AWFUL THIS WILL BE TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH A GAME. How do you hope to attract, entertain, and KEEP players playing when you DON'T let them play for hours on end? NO ONE is going to pay money, to a game, that they have 0 chance of being able to jump in, experiment, and get their feet wet in competition that is so far skewed towards players who buy the best characters and level them up w/o any work cause they can afford it. Those players, like myself, who have put in HOURS AND HOURS of time learning the game, developing strategies to be able to out-last, out play, and still remain highly competitive with those players who cheat their way up using cash are going to be GONE.
I sincerely hoped this is fixed in the next 7 days, or I will feel so dumb for having invested so much time and energy into a game which doesn't consider 90% of their fan-base when making decisions about how to move their product forward.
A once loyal and dedicated, and HOPEFULLY FUTURE loyal and dedicated, fan and player.
