    • United Republic M16 Halftrack - An anti-aircraft gun mounted on the bed of a Republic Halftrack.

I have played this for long enough to come to a judgement if this game is a good or bad F2P, to be honest, the game is a great F2P experience but with the odd glitch or two and rubbish matchmaking that ruins the flow of gameplay.
This F2P has to be one of the few on steam that isn't P2W and a community that isn't a bunch of 8 year olds screaming at you in the chat. The game is an alternate 1940's with a dieselpunk theme with 6 unique factions both with strengths and weaknesses so no faction is overpowered and no faction is underpowered. The six factions are.
United Republic - North America, take a look at America in WW2 and some canadian units
Latin Junta - South America, Viva la revoultion, Che Guereva styled
African Warlords - Africa and Middle East - Outdated tech but strong with animals/beasts
Soviet Union - Self Explanatory
European Alliance - Self Explanatory again
Shogun Empire - Asia - Samurai and Japan in WW2
Also the game gets regular updates and the devs are very active, there is also a certain group of people who monitor the chat and will help if you ask something (This Game has an heavy moderation system on chat) and the community is nice and friendilly and treat new players with respect.
If your into turnbased strategy and want an online focus with an interactive map that can change with your contributions for your faction and if you ignore the glitches and the crappy matchmaking this is great.
Game gets an 8 from Hen.

Great graphics, great sound quality, lots of customization and great gameplay . Though it is repetitive and a little buggy-ish, I don't mind them as long as this is playable and fun to play and has WW2 warfare-like theme. 8/10

As much as I like the Dieselpunk, Red Alert style asthetic, the game's a bit stale. Takes too long to get anything cool, and the combat, while fun is repetitive.

Would be better served as an RTS title in the same universe, honestly.

It's worth a bit of your time, but not that much.

(And yes, you can buy your way to the top units and stuff, but it's not like you can't grind to them anyway. It's pay to get good stuff now, not pay2win.)

If you want a profound turn based Hex game, go for other games. If you want good mmo experience, go for whatever others.reasons below.

Pros (in sum, its real F2P )
+ can unlock all units and skill without spending a dollar. Real F2P.
+ can unlock all units and skill in 20 hours.
+ Devs are active.(however they can't fix the core problems of the game.)

Cons( in sum: unbalanced, lack of community mechanics, no goal of playing)

units between factions unbalanced, causing players numbers between factions ridiculous unbalanced.game mechanics make player who got first move ALWAYS win in PvP and Devs do nothing to fix it.instead of competeing each other, all players do is Grinding PvE against suck AI.
- Poor community experience.
bad community interface. lack of interaction with player inside or ouside the faction. I joined a battlegroup (guid), then that's all. guild don't have any function, either. Faction Leader and Battlegroup leader can't organize or moblize or lead their members, either can't do nothing to the rogue players. All he can do is text with players.
- No Goal, No Reward. No Purpose.
It has a real world map.The faction I joined wipe out entire enemy faction except one province(due to game rule, you can not wipe out other fatctions totally), then we got nothing. Even you conquer whole world map, it WON'T change your game experience.vice versa. all we can do is wait enemy retake their land and play endless PvE. it DOES have some objective to achieve for each faction in each few days, but reward is tiny.

In my honest opinion, this game is not that good, I've tried it every year and it doesn't seem to change much, from what i see every time a battle start or something like that, everyones talking about a peace treaty with these guys, alliances with these guys, or you guys are newbs for attacking this and to me, that just seems really dumb, I mean why are we always at peace with some guy or making an alliance with another faction? I thought the point was try and get more land but no, we give away our land to keep some dumb treaty while they people that wanna progress fight to keep our land (Thank you to the guys who do) and then get called newbs just for trying to protect our/their faction. I know a lot of people will probably say alliance and peace teaties are good but not when your giving away land to the enemy, you could've been fighting for that peice of land for our and then suddenly the faction leader says, lets just give this away, and oh another thing, most of the leaders don't even seem to be in battles, (Note I said most, not all) they just come on every once in awhile to give orders then leave without helping. To me, this seems pointless, your giving away land people worked hard to get, and not even helping to get any peice except by making this ridiculous treaty or alliance. And when you do this some people can't even progress cause were at peace with the entire freak'n world and so now we can't progress, I know that how the Empire is right now. And thats how it is every year except maybe when this first came out, when everybody was actually fighting to get land not making these treaties, and for any faction leaders reading this, stop it, it wastes the players time, the factions, and just the game in general, I don't care how high up you are, you can still help out every now and again and you can fight for lands not make these idiotic treaties just to get what you want.

This game is OK and has a potential, but there are severl things that screw everything up. First, is its total dependance on grinding. Lots and LOTS of grinding. Then comes Disbalance of units. Yes, developers and some gamers say that there is balance, but there is not, I can write lots of examples. Graphics is too heavy for the picture, animations are bad (like infantry shooting everywhere except targets) and PVP matchmaking. putting new players against old hardcore players is not quite fair. Anyway, this game needs lots to work on. Territories could give bonuses, low players playing against low players only, less grinding. Fun poilitical system though.

This game was fun at first. Just another freemium game: pay to win but still possible to play for free for some fun. After learning to play against the AI I decided to play against another player. I was level 9, and the game paired me against a level 25. You can guess what happened! March of War is impossible to play, unless of course, you are rich and buy all the research and units you can, or you were playing it from the very beginning. I have just lost all faith and hope in free strategy games.

Well I think is Joseph Goebbels was a game developer he would aprisiate this game. This creation has soooo OP european alliance fracton and frankly ослабленные over weakened USSR fraction that it resembles me old times of cold war Propaganda-style cranberiie. One time I saw a discussion on MoW wiki comment that some peole got banned for 24 hour because they were writing Russian Greek and Polish language. So the only fact that this game has all positive response on English and nearly All negative on foreign speaks for itselfeloquently.
The bottom line :
Pros:
1 Turn-based Strategy with Global map with an opportunity to affect on wthat is going to happen on it. Very rare product for our days.
2. Very interesting synopsys.
Cons:
1. donate, Donate, DONATE
2. ABSOLUTELY No ingame ballance. Has one VERY OP fractions (And not even NA :-D). Other fractions makes an impression of cannon fodder and fillers.
3. Very politiciesed propaganda promise. With over the top xenofobia. (Like in Company of heroes 2). This is getting annoying.
4. The game doesn't explain its mechanics. I bout a plane now it stay in roster. I don't know how and when it works.
5. Minor bug there, Major big here. The game is still raw.

Conclusion:
This game could be a gem if the game developers could step back from its inner political demons and also fix bugs more active. Cranberiie can be very fun and amusing (Like Red Allert) if it doesn't resemble xenofobia (Like Company of heroes 2).

Good game, but the cash shop I believe is what kills this game for beginners. you pretty much have to buy something, I just played someone at lvl 2 and they were lvl 3 and he had tanks already. That means he bought them because we had both played the same amount of PvE games and he was a lvl higher. Buying is too much of an advantage in this game and it's a little ridiculous.

The game is not that bad but its very bugged and its update system is horrible. After some update it become very crashy - few crashes a day, and after latest update is unlaunchable and unable to play. Save yourself time playing this as you will be very upset if you can not start the game you used to play from time to time. IMHO I felt like playing unfinished product.

I've played every faction and was very involved from the start. The game had a huge potential to be a great strategy, but it was never fully realized.

I would like to clarify, the game is COMPLETELY FREE! You get better stuff as you play with in-game currency. As in every other normal game. It is NOT a p2w. If you want to get stuff right away you can use real cash, but it is very unnecessary.

I've noticed that the community can vary depending on what faction you play, but they're mostly friendly. Also, you can make two characters of different nations, and once you complete the research tree on one character (fully level him up) you are rewarded with extra character slot so you can explore more of the game. And i have, as you can see by the hours i've put into it.

I've loved the game and the politics and the fanatics and the smart, intelligent conversations alongside the trolls, the spies, the traitors, the jingos and the crybabies. You play long enough, pay attention to world and faction chats and you get to see it all. I've laughed and cried with this game.

Now, you're probably wondering why I don't recommend the game? Let's see:

+Diverse 6 factions with a variety of units and playstyles.
+Responsive and helpful dev staff.
+Politics could sometimes be fun, if you're into that kinda stuff.
+A true f2p, you don't need to spend a penny to enjoy it.
+Beautiful icons with oil-painting feel to them.

But then:

-3D models are very basic and cube-y (you know how in Company of Heroes you can zoom in and see details like the soldier's shoelaces or facial expressions? Well, in MoW they look like minecraft faces.)
-Buggy, glitchy and annoying, the numerous issues are well known and they have still not been addressed.
-The game is very ugly even on ultra settings, which would have been something i can overlook for the gameplay - this game would've looked good maybe ten years ago.
-The gameplay gets boring and repetitive to the point of becoming an endless grindfest.
-No events or story line or anything to keep you coming back. There were some, but no more.
-No reason to hold territories whatsoever, no bonus or anything. (Soviet Australia, anyone?)
-Poorly matched pvp, being second is a serious handicap. so you lose.
-Master battles are screwed by the latest update (Oct 14, 2014) - The computer spams its best units early game, so you lose.
-Boring, monotonous battles - once you learn the layout of the few maps, every battle goes the exact same way.
-All the animations are very poorly done - an attacking unit gets side-skewed for attack, while the victim takes it stoically - he is undeserving of animation.
-The lack of money when developing this game becomes painfully evident when you hear the 2-3 tracks that pass for music and the absolutely horrendous voice acting.
-Most units have 1 rather unimaginative skill.
-No player skill tree, no customization, no upgrades of anything, no retainment of units, no unit experience.

Unless all these numerous issues have been dealt with, I wouldn't strongly recommend it. If you like war games try Company of Heroes. If you like the turn-based strategy get X-COM.

You can deffinitely try it and have some free fun, just don't say I didn't warn you!

March of War is indeed a game worth your time if you are into turn-based action games. It's a well paced game, with a interesting approach on WWII theme. Quallity wise I shall bow down and say that I can't professionaly asses it, but from a consumer stand-point:

-Well designed maps, that span various type of regions of wold, such as: tropical forest that hide within forgotten temples, dry deserts that were once home of african tribes, as only theyr houses remain as proof, cities destroyed by war, military bases, and many more.

-Resemblence to Company of Heroes's resource points, that must be captured: The game has 3 resource types: Infantry, Mechanical and Command wich are neede in various numbers and combination to bring in troops, tanks, and use Command Cards.

-Various game modes.

-Interesting approach on the faction's unit: A flying Goliath of a plane called the Flying Fortress for the UR( the 1947's USA), The African Warlods focus more on salvaged vehicles and go as far as strapping a canon on a elephant, The Shogunate bring mighty infratry units as The Immortal or the evasive Shadow Warriors, The Junta will rip your infrantry appart by use of massive tanks, drug-infused Hulks, Snipers, chemicals and dangerous wild-life, The Union comes in numbers and with the mighty power of propaganda and bullet-storms with a side of molotovs, The Alliance will always roll out only the best tanks, with huge rocket platforms, The Churchill tank and it's Croc variation and Stormtrooper infantry.

- One-time use Command cards: Call in a Zero Strike( Japan's Zero Planes), a fear inducing rocket, sneaky insurgents, an air strafe and many more with the power of Commands Cards.

-The game presents itself with 6 factions: The United Republic, The Latina Junta, The European Alliance, The Soviet Union, The Shogunate Empire and The African Warlords, each fighting for peace or world domination.

-Full community driven political experience: All 6 factions has a faction leader and a group formed from the top 10 players, in the current faction, called the High Command. Faction leaders are voted by the memebers of the faction and they will solve any political disputes or even peace/war to your nation. The High Command will vote and assign for it's faction the current war zone. So in this game it is important to be aware of what your faction whats to do, and how the other faction-leaders see your faction.

Now as in any game, every great addition comes with it's pair of bad, so as Cons:

-Maps can be repetitive, annoying to play on or somewhat imbalanced for play of any type as it may bring a strategic advantage for the other combatant. There is no option of map selection pre-game, they are randomly chosen from the pool. You can end up picking a war Siberia's tundra but the map may place you in the african desert, but that's just a thing regardin immersion and logical map picking.

-Variation of units brings variation of builds and may lead to over powered combinations. There is a constant feel in the first phew playthroughs that the other faction is op or has un infair advantage over you, but as soon as you get the feel of the game it becomes clear that tactics and good deployment in the early game wins the battle.

-A player with enough in game currency or paid-currency(we will get there shortly) that has enough Command Points can bring a lot of hurt on his enemy. This is not much of a con as the counter-benefit for doing so it losing a lot of money for just one won round, so it becomes more of a: Is it worth all that money to win just this game?

-Faction may be over or under populated. They all have great approches and pro's and con's but striking a balance between the faction's player population wich may lead to a faction getting stomped and forced to fight for it's life although there is no such thing as faction wipe(the will always be rebels for a cause, as the australian soviet rebelion)

-Being a strong community game, High Command members may leave the game for too long and lead to rogue votes, Faction Leaders may go rogue, and wage war to the detriment of it's faction, but they can be changed after two weeks. We are in the end talkin about playin with other people and chosing them to lead us to war.

-This is not a con but is worthy of mentioning. The game has 2 currencies:
-A in game currency that you get by playing battles
-A paid currency, wich is self-explanatory
Now the in game currency will buy you anything related to army composition, daily army bundles while the paid one has these capabilities to wich we add: cosmetics for your portrait, and some paid currency only army bundles. It's not Pay To Win but it's still very close to it.

As a matter of devs, they seem to keep an eye on how the factions play, if the maps are ok, and if the units are not over-powered. There are MECHs(admins) for every faction and there is a constant MECH in the world chat ready to help any player.


So to wrap it all up: March of War is a good turn based WWI strategy game, with a nice approach on the theme with it's factions although some factions may feel weak due to low number of players, it has a great map design but you can't chose wich one to play on and some may be poorly made in terms of balance but they will be resolved, a lot of units to choose from, a rich and fun political component that may even be the sole reason to play the game, but we are talking about letting others rule us and they might not be the best suited in the end. I highly advise giving it a try, see it for yourself and in the end you got nothing to lose. It's a free game!

I was really excited with this game at first but I'm not recommending it game for several reasons.

First, it has no balance, a single advanced unit like a Hulk can totally wipe half a dozen of common units, which brings out another point, regarding PvP, there's currently no fair matchmaking system implemented, which means you will get queued with any random player. So imagine someone who just started the game, with no advanced units researched and no combat experience at all getting queued with someone with 50+ PvP victories and with all units unlocked... Nasty.

Second, there's no logical purpose to hold territories other than a few useless 5% or 10% tech/gold bonus from the faction objectives, which brings out another point, tech/gold becomes obsolete once you unlock every unit and research, which will happen quite fast. After that you just hoard massive amounts of gold/tech for no purpose at all.

Third, the game just fells awfully slow. You take about 25 to 40min to finish a game of 6 to 10 turns at most, some animations take too long to complete, and there's no option to turn them off. Also, the game lags a lot, I don't know if it's a server-side or programming issue with the game code, but as the game develops the computer takes so long to complete their turns that makes you yawn. And regarding PvP, each side has 5min to complete their turns, so in most cases the opponent will just go afk when they are losing in hope that you disconnect or just to ♥♥♥♥ you off, and there's currently no consequences implemented to take care of afkers.

Fourth, to finish with a golden key, you can't speak another language other than english in the game channels, or you will get muted. So I couldn't speak portuguese/spanish with my fellow south american friends, not even in our faction channel, and there's always a Merc (some kind of admin) lurking around with a banhammer.

But hey, the game is free, and it's receiving constant updates, so I hope it gets better as time goes on. :)

Having seen this game develop over almost a year I'd say this for it. Its great, constantly being refined and updated and it offers a wide range of units and gameplay styles to keep you entertained. If you like TBT games this is for you, it echoes of the great table top games. If you don't like TBT, well why not give it a shot its free and you can get all of the units in-game for in game currency, no IRL money needed. Either way, its a great way to kill a few lazy afternoons.

Early Access Review
I think this game is great. Its a turn-based strategy game set in the 1940's on an alternate history. World War 2 style weapons with a little more than what was actually in the war. You can play as one of six factions(or more if you buy gems) and fight others in a conquest of lands. The game has different episodes that usually last about a month and new units are always added. You can become a leader of your faction if you work hard enough and you can also fight other players around the world.

definately a good game, I see a lot of people complaining about the game being p2w (funnily enough these players usually have an hour or less played meaning they know pretty much nothing about the game) but i've never found it to be p2w at all, if you want to it is possibly to buy the units with real money, but you can also get them all for in game cash without that much of a grind, again I see a lot of people complain about a terrible grind and taking forever to get units, again these people have maybe an horu played meaning they havn't unlocked the higher difficultys, as you lvl up you get higher difficulty settings that allow you to grind out the gold for untis pretty quickly.
buying all the units also doesn't help much as a player with maybe half the reserach tree unlocked that is good can still beat him fairly easily.
The game has some glitches and issues here and there but overall it runs well enough, i've had a lot of fun playing it, the developers are active within the community, easy to talk to, and actually listen to their playerbase. the factions are pretty well balanced and the world map is a cool concept.
some of the issues I have with it are some pvp problems, some exploits exist for players to use and a player can go AFK for 10 minutes before auto-losing which can be annoying, and taking provinces on the world map doesn't feel very rewarding especially at a high lvl because it doesn't do much other than change the color, other than these relativly minor complaints i've definately enjoyed it however.
the game isn't for everyone but if you enjoy turn based stratagy games you should definatly at least give it a look.
