Face Off Goes Mobile

On November 11th, Face Off (our sister game) is launching on Android, with an iOS release quite soon after. Now you'll be able to enjoy our strategic collectible card game wherever your travels might take you. Better yet, you'll be able to link to your Steam account, meaning progress on your computer transfers over to your tablet, and vice versa.

To help make this launch special, we're going to be running plenty of in-game events, including an hourly 'Guess the Card?' game where the winner gets tickets that can be used to craft new cards. We've made many improvements over the past few weeks and, if you haven't checked it out in awhile, you definitely should. You might be surprised at how much better it is.

Haven't played MoW: Face Off, yet? You should. It's a unique combination of collectible card game and strategic play, where your choices of what to play and where to move are every bit as important as your decisions about what cards you bring with you to battle. Three of the March of War factions have been released -- European Alliance, United Republic, and the Shogun Empire -- and the other three are on their way. In fact, we recently announced that the next faction will be the Soviet Union. So, download the game, Face Off against your friends, and compete to be the best. It's completely free, and a lot of fun.

March of War Development Hold

Hi everyone, it's DamionFury. I’m going to get straight to the point. Development on March of War has been halted.

We want to continue developing March of War – but at this time we do not have the funds to do so. Our intention is to come back around to MoW when we obtain the funding. Meanwhile our investors have directed us to focus on MoW Face Off which is built on modern infrastructure, versus the antiquated, extremely complex and expensive-to-manage code of March of War.

When we succeed at making Face Off a profitable game we will reconsider what it will take to recast MoW on a state-of-the-art technology platform.

In the interim we are exploring the costs involved with keeping MoW running as a completely free game. There is some coding involved to make MoW free and there is the issue of maintaining and paying for a complex server infrastructure. We will make a decision soon – before the close of 2015. In the meantime, in-game gem rewards have been increased considerably.

No matter what happens, we plan to give all current MoW players (as of this post) special rewards within Face Off. We’re deciding the specifics of how we’ll do this, so please come back to MoW on occasion, or check our Steam store page for news.

About This Game

The year is 1947. The world lies ravaged by war. Align yourself with one of six warring factions and fight for global domination in a world where borders rapidly shift as battles are won and lost.

This is March of War. An online turn-based strategy game set in a dieselpunk world where strategy and firepower rule the day. Take command and lead your army into 3D battlefields that allow you to assess the war-zone from every angle. Deploy a wide range of vehicles, infantry and artillery where their specific weapons can be most effective.

Destroy your enemies and capture their territory to advance through the ranks of your faction. Rise high enough and you’ll have the honour of joining your faction’s High Command, or perhaps even be voted Faction Leader. Achieving High Command or Faction Leader status expands the game into an intricate web of political allegiances and betrayals, where your decisions directly influence the course of the war as you strive to lead your faction to global domination.

    Key Features Include

  • Tactical warfare - Play smart and dirty to conquer this war-torn dieselpunk world.
  • Choose what you fight for - The six factions are very distinct. Who will you be loyal to?
  • Multiplayer gameplay - Players are waiting worldwide. Join a co-op or PvP and march on.
  • Start your own fights – Skirmish lets you set up custom battles for a new challenge or just for fun.
  • Realistic 3D battlefields – Watch the fireworks as your forces clash with the enemy across landscapes ranging from jungles to deserts.
  • A mix of classic and exotic units - Will a Sherman tank stand up to a Warbeast?
  • Between battles – Build up your army, form battle groups, and research new weapons and abilities.

Opps bought the wrong unit. Now I can't earn any money. easiest ai starts with units I can't even begin to recruit, and you earn nothing for playing only winning. The Solution to making mistakes: spending money, make more mistakes? spend more money.

Didn't play for long, but I know a total grind fest, and toxic game environment when I see one. I don't think I need to say much more than, avoid this very mihandled game that could have been so much more.

Well, whate hell is this travesty ?

This "Game" doesnt worth calling game btw

UPDATE: I can see my review on store page, as reward have written more issues with game... Enjoy more ranting

Before we will kick the hornet nest, lets see the good stuff about this "Game"

The good
+ F2P
+ Lot of voice acting for units
+ Unique factions
+ Steampunk theme (6 factions !)
+ Lots of things to learn
+ There is some kind of strong essence of progress. Every unit i buy i feel i am better
+ Graphics are decent, i dont really care about them
+ IT had , active community and i spend hours just in chat
+ Devs were often online and ussualy chat with people in global chat
+ This game isnt cheap F2P, the devs done some work on it.
+ I spent over 200 hours on this thing, so yea these above things managed to hold me.

Now, well thats about it, rest is bad.

- Grind your sorry ♥♥♥ OR PAY GEMS. Now god protect you if you buy super expensive unit and you just discover its utter CRAP, that only gets nerfed in upcomming patch !

Now, for me most insulting to PVE players tatdadadad lazy devs created abomination called CA

- Now this is just pure insult to play against. "AI"

Lets see its cheating loadout
1) Omnivision
- HOly mother of god, this is most annoying one, AI will snipe your units with arti or support cards without any kind of LOS, it sees anything and its frustrating how it will use something like Junta dogfight on your fragile aircraft across entire map without having god damm one soldier nearby
2) Bonus resources
F*ck this game, this is the most frustrating one. AI will always outnumber you in every way. And if it wasnt stupid (Yes the AI stupid) it would wreck even the best MOW players. (Its stupid, so you will ussualy win the game, unless you are wrong faction which just gets owned by other factions)

I buy Siege Tank
AI gets 2 Akumas

Akuma is land battleship which can one shot most things in game (Expect aircraft, heavy infantry and ultra heavy vehicles)

So i buy few grenadiers

AI get 3-5 War baloons, or 3-6 Anti infantry vehicles

Dont bother with playing on Master or Elite. It doesnt worth the pain you will experimence

3) Infinite unit/command card supply
If you let AI to spawn units, it will spawn them till end of time.
Same with cards, it use them randomly (Luck based game, will get to that later)

Now, eneugh of that piece of s.hit called "AI"

- Now, this is what started bothering me later stage of MOW lifespan
- You know how many things in this abomination are luck based ?

Lets see
- All critical chances
- For the Motherland bonus (Random based bonus damage)
- Critical hits on vehicles (Propulsion/Weapons)
- Weapon damage

Some weapons have damage like 40-80
And after the damage goes trough ressistance types

Then its random, but here is thing

Lets see Militia/Other derp fodder infantry
They got about 60 HP

Then some regular infantry (Guerrilas, GI's, Red Army soldiers etc...)
They have varius attack (I will talk about balance later)

One unit can deal about 50-70 Damage

One turn you can kill derp fodder infantry in one shoot (And prevent its actions like capping)
But next turn you only done 55 Damage, and unit lives and cap point and AI will spawn moar units (Like Walkers)

This leads to frustration, but i guess its for more interesting game flow.

Oh yea also maps are repetive, there are no Snow maps and you will get African village in Siberia
Also, probably the most stupid and absurd, there is a rule, WHO GOT FIRST TURN, WRECKS THE OTHER.
Devs couldnt fix that so far.

- What bad game miss Horde mode ? Not this game !

There are 3 Painfully boring gamemodes

Horde mode Siege

Assault is 1vs1 fight. Just mosh pit on random map

Blitz, you start with alot of resources and you buy your army on the begining and you fight, you must destroy enemy Command Vehicle
Oh, i dont think i need to discuss how First turn rule works in Blitz

"Siege" is that you must defend your HQ against masses of AI troops

And the latest

StormSiege (ITs multi-staged campaign too)

First stage
Its unfinished reverted Siege, you will lead assault on massive maps, where your men will get slaughtered by insta killing animals, infinite respawning commandos which wrecks most units, massive Rail cannon at the last point which insta kills most things.

Second stage

Horde mode once again, now its 600% Slower, and you are facing insane odds
Now you are facing hundrents of commando units
AND you need to hold points to upload stuff

By default its extremly slow, and you can speed it up by overwriting jammers, which you must take some of your units to clear way to them for your Jammer team.

Commando got officers, which can launch V2 which doesnt damage his friends (HOW ?!)
Also they got tanks, which two shoots most of your vehicles
They got infantry that can hit and run in one turn, or throw AOE explosives
Then they got RPG guy which can two shoot light vehicles, and he has HP of 4 Men squad

And, now WTF

AT 50%, a flying battleship came, with gun that can one hit almost everything in game.

I ragequited before i could reach 70%

Third stage
Devs abandoned this game before they could finish it

- They are horrible, they are amateurs, they dont have idea how to make proper game
- They need MONTHS to fix SIMPLE bugs ?!
- They introduce bugs, then they revert update, then they annouce that they stopped devoleping game
- Oh yes, they now turned to Face Off (MOW rip-off, garbage card game that pretend it will bring money for devolepment of MOW)

This game has probably the most pointless world domination i ever saw and played trough

You conquer territories by grinding over and over, each victory creates battlepoints that will damage enemy HP of territory
Each Faction has diffrent bonus on BP, depending on player count. While it might sound insane, i even managed to grind down entire territory almost on my own as Latin Hunta.

I like got 7% damage per battle, and i could win battle every 10 minutes so i was OverPowered abit in this.

But to get to the point, if you manage to reckt one faction out of surface of Terra, then you dont, they will get back almost instantly. They will rebel on their core territory and they will get obscene BP boost and not even EA could hold AW territory for more than few days before they got rofl kicked out Africa.

This made game about conquering world pointless ! Since defeating or even fighting enemy has no reason at all ! This is one of masssive nail in the coffin since this renders game pointless to play since all your effort will be smashed by bloated bonuses for enemy.

*NEW* Politics and faction control
Faction leaders cannot do anything
Some commanders go rogue and attack allies ? TOO BAD, DEAL WITH IT, YOU CANT DO A CRAP expect insults them in chat with will probably only support them.
Rogues can cause wars since they can capture friendly faction territories and there is no penalty for that, for dooming your immortal faction, you will only grind your territories back.

Everything regarding faction things is garbage
Randomly generated quests are garbage, 5-10% Gold boost ?! for conquering 2 Titles on map ?!
WHY ?!

Peace treaty is the only existing feature to not let rogues to fight friendly factions but there are few more issues with that.

Pre-Release Review
The game looks fun but as soon as you realize just how much grinding you'll have to do for nothing and just how much as a typical p2w title you will be completely dependant on buying some "gold" alternate currency. In addition to
being incredibly slow paced due to it's turn based gameplay you will be forced to endure grueling timespans of moving
units around the map. P2W games are an ever more frequent sight in the gaming market, but they are a plague to society
and to community. Make it stop.
