"Receiver is interesting for two things. One, it focuses on a single weapon, the Colt 1911 A1, and takes it very seriously, using "high detail gun mechanics", which means you can "manipulate each part of the gun independently" (the beginning of the video shows this in action). The second is that it's a randomly-generated shooter that features permanent death. Taking place inside a single building, every time you die, you have to start at the very beginning again, but the entire game world is re-rolled. It's available now for $5, which given the ideas on show, is totally worth it just to check it out."

Receiver é um game do tipo simulador cujo o objetivo é manipular sua arma e eliminar alguns inimigos.
Mas neste jogo fazer isso é praticamente um desafio, a jogabilidade é bem complicada e irritante no começo, os gráficos mesmo estando no máximo são simples, mas o ponto que mais pega você de jeito são os controles difíceis que se tornam chatos no inicio do jogo.

Acho que não tem mais o que falar deste game, básico e objetivo e simplesmente desafiador.

I really wish I could recommend Receiver.

The base weapon-manipulation mechanics are complex, and fun, once you get the hang of them. Problem is, that's not what the game is about. Most of my time in-game is spent wandering around, only to get killed very quickly by a robot.

And then there's the random aspects, my biggest gripe. One game I started with no ammunition - at all - and in a hallway guarded by a sentry gun. I couldn't run past it, and I couldn't shoot it - I had no ammo. It brought a quick death. I'm not against random aspects to a game, but there has to be boundaries. Randomly give me between five and fifty bullets. But at least give me one.

Personally, I don't think the game is worth $5 - I bought it on sale for $2, and I don't think it's worth that. SUPERHOT released a much more exciting proof of concept, and that was free.

There's a reason they were giving this game away for free. Cool gun mechanics don't make up for crappy and repetitive design and unfinished, empty gameplay. This isn't a finished title, it's an experimental pistol simulator that doesn't make any sense and is confusing and ugly to look at.

Gun nuts might enjoy it for its realism, every one else is better off giving it a miss.
