I bought this game thinking, "maybe this will be a waste of money, who knows?" I mean, it has good reviews but still, who really knows about a game until that someone plays it through well enough right? I decided to try this game a few times, and it was real fun gameplay, solid moments, even if depressing at times. Now, the gameplay mechanics, well, achievements are failing me for some reason after not logging in for a while, the first thing that appears is "your save / achievements are corrupt, but the achievements might sync back to your save" or some similar nonsense (makes sense, to a certain degree when cloud saving is on and your file messes up...) and the leaderboards don't work for me (but it probably works for mostly everyone, I assume I have a firewall issue to deal with soon...) Still, the game rocks, want to buy the DLC soon regardless.

I don't give a damn for the failing achievements (even though they were supposedly fixed, the sync glitch isn't for what it seems, I'm going to report it.) I am a bit worried because I know once I buy the DLC the characters might or might not unlock due to this, but from what I see DLC fixes these achievements issues in a few rare chances.

For some reason I feel very sick when I play this game, almost feverish...

Thankfully, the game takes away all those feelings and throws it down the drain, because of the induced stress. I never thought stress would feel so good for a freakking game, when it allows you to put down all your friends, family or dog/cat/goldfish named after real life counterparts that you either despise or feel angry at, now I feel like a god, and the devil too. Thanks Organ Trail! May you inspire more stressful times with your soundtrack forever. Sorry I can't make a better review about the gameplay, I just wrote this to waste time, literally.

When I wake up, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's in the car with you.
When you go out, yeah, I know you're gonna go
Go take a ♥♥♥♥ and it's the last time I saw you.
When I scavenge, well, I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who gives nothing to you.
And when you're bitten, well, I don't care if you're bit
We just have low food and I just want to kill you.

But I would drive five hundred miles
And I would drive five hundred more
Just to be the man who drove a thousand miles
To get safe all alone.

This game is holy.
its a single player statedgy game and its about the cheese burger apocalipse and you and your party make your way to the safe heaven. on the way your party ♥♥♥♥s with you.

-Pros-

-gameplay that is fair and STILL kicks your ♥♥♥.

-you can save because sometimes this game gets a bit boring.

-Its a hype train

-boss fights, what the ♥♥♥♥?

-you get to name your whole party

-cons-

-The hype train leads to a dissapointing ending

-only 1 of the 3 weapons are usable, that being the rifle

-now I did say the game is fair but sometimes THE PARTY IS JUST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, like let me ♥♥♥♥ with food and ruin it.

other than that the game is fun and I feel like I had twelve ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my ♥♥♥ because its long as ♥♥♥♥.
I'd put it in window mode and open youtube and ms paint and try to draw bob ross paintings while playing. because waiting for my wagon to even get far takes a while.

I'm not speaking to the gameplay or the graphics or the sound. I just want to say that I think it's stupid that an Oregon Trail-style game doesn't have an option to play in windowed mode. This is not a major graphics-heavy immersive world. This is a pixellated game involving long periods of watching your car travel and picking options from a static menu. Fullscreen is not required.

One of the best Indies...Yes, it's basically Oregon Trail with a zombie twist.
Great music, create your own characters and see what happens.
To squeeze even more enjoyment out of the game, I recommend the following:

- Turn off the light
- Use headphones, if you're alone, obviously
- Create a biography or backstory for the fictional characters & ENJOY!

A trail made just of organs would be inefficient. You should just use pebbles. Or breadcrumbs. Like that one story, Batman Begins.

A great variation on the classic game Oregon Trail. Instead of heading west to start new cities and find Fame/Fortune, you are trying to escape the Zombie apocalypse and reach Safe Haven.

The game is about resource management and does a great job of staying true to the original, with fun variations. You travel with 4 friends in a crappy station wagon. Your car can be upgraded and repaired with spare parts when it breaks down. You can scavenge for food while avoiding and shooting zombies. And ofcourse Random things happen while on the Road, some bad and some funny.

Overall a fun game.

This game is so difficult to give a stern review for. It's just a silly 8-bit game with a lot of humor mixed in with despair. You can name the characters after your real life friends and it makes it kind of heart wrenching when you have to put one down or they get sick or held hostage. You really get put into the game and realize how difficult it is to scavange and survive during a zombie outbreak. Replay is great and doesn't really get all that old. Aiming is kind of a pain in the ♥♥♥, if you look up videos for it you'll understand what I mean (it's so hard to explain), but you can overlook that. If you can overlook that, it's a really great game and I definably recommend it for hours of addiction.

Remember Oregon Trail from gradeschool? This takes all the fun parts of that game and removes all of the educational value. Recommended!
