About This Game

Colonize solar systems, annihilate homeworlds, and exterminate your foes in epic interplanetary battles with multiple players and thousands of units. Planetary Annihilation takes strategy gaming to a never-before-seen scale -- and gives players powerful tools to control the action.

Blow up everything, anywhere; dominate with punishing spacecraft, robots, and other futuristic machines of war. Arm asteroids and send them on planet-destroying collision courses. And take over an entire galaxy in a dynamic single-player mode with procedurally generated content. Don’t just win, annihilate!

Key Features Include:

  • Epic Single-Player - Galactic War is a twist on traditional real-time strategy campaigns that has players battling across a dynamic galaxy filled with procedurally-generated content. Every playthrough is different. Annihilation is final.
  • Epic Multiplayer - Play with up to ten friends (or enemies) in massive free-for-all and team-based matches.
  • Spectate - Spectate matches with a suite of incredible viewing options.
  • Advanced Command And Control - With intuitive drags and clicks, seamlessly switch between planets, mine resources, create custom unit formations, or pulverize armies.
  • Dynamic Picture-In-Picture - View and interact with your units on another planet in a second window as you focus and control the action in your primary view.
  • Instant Replays - View in-match recordings in real-time while matches are in progress. See when a battle turned by rewinding the game to any point or check out the entire match after a game ends.
  • Smash Planets - Don’t just win, annihilate. End games with the mother of all weapons: an asteroid on a collision course.

This game is bad like dried toast without anything. It could have been awesome but without the balance it just doesn't work. By the way tap F5 it will f&@k up your game. First your hud wil disappear and then the game will crash.

>Started first game
>Selected "Collision" System
>Played normally for some time
>Planet with all the other players suddenly crashes into mine
>Realizes they were on a collision course, hence the name
>Everyone loses

10/10 would die in a fiery explosive collision of planets again (game is a bit pricey, wait for a sale)

My friend bought this for me and some others to play because we were all bored, and I must say, this is one of most fun games I've ever played with friends. If you have freinds I honestly do think you all should get this and play it together.

When this game was hyped back in 2014, i wanted it more than anything. i loved the idea of it. smashing planets, creating chaos to your opponent. The ultimate destruction, it sounded amazing. Then not too long ago (last night infact) my friend sent me a link to this game on bundlestars, this game was $1.00. yes, one single dollar. so then i thought to myself "hey why not give this ga...(look of shock) holy sh*t its this game!" i immediatly added it to my steam library. i had to. I played around for a bit in skirmishes with the ai. i have to say, people would get a million times more enjoyment, if they had a few buddies to play with. (that makes all games better) so if you have one dollar, and you're reading this/interested in this game. I'm going to drop a link where i picked this game up. https://www.bundlestars.com/en/game/planetary-annihilation#! (personally i love this game and it brings me much enjoyment)

I'm honestly not a huge RTS fan (In fact, the only other RTSes are AirMech, which I've already reviewed, and Halo Wars), but this game turned out to be fun to play. There's a good variety of units and unit types, plus the planet-to-planet system and Orbital units requires some three-dimensional thinking, not something you see in most RTSes. Oh, and did I mention you can add thrusters to some of the planets and use the planet ITSELF as a giant missile, or that you can pull a "Death Star" and make a planet-busting laser? Yeah, this is not your average RTS.

That's not to say this game doesn't have its share of drawbacks, though. One is it's "beginner-unfriendliness"; even though there is a help menu with most of the information you need, there's no real "tutorial" to speak of. I started a match and started building stuff right off the bat, completely clueless that I was wasting Metal and Energy. If a tutorial teaching you the basics of resources and unit types were available, that feature would help newcomers.

Another is a long initial loading time. Sometimes I open up Task Manager just to see if it's frozen, and I'm running a pretty muscular PC, so I can imagine what it does on the weaker varieties.

My verdict?

85/100

Get it, preferably when it's on sale (like I did). I feel $30 is a bit much; $20-$25 seems more reasonable. Anything below that and it's a real steal.

So... was playing on a 2v2v2v2... Spawned on a moon, spawned alone on the moon (Happy)! Moon orbits lava planet, Enemy launches a asteroid at the lava planet. At this point in time you can probably quess what happens next. My moons orbit crosses the parth of the asteroids flight path..... You have been annihilated 10/10 would spawn on the same moon again.
