About This Game

Colonize solar systems, annihilate homeworlds, and exterminate your foes in epic interplanetary battles with multiple players and thousands of units. Planetary Annihilation takes strategy gaming to a never-before-seen scale -- and gives players powerful tools to control the action.

Blow up everything, anywhere; dominate with punishing spacecraft, robots, and other futuristic machines of war. Arm asteroids and send them on planet-destroying collision courses. And take over an entire galaxy in a dynamic single-player mode with procedurally generated content. Don’t just win, annihilate!

Key Features Include:

  • Epic Single-Player - Galactic War is a twist on traditional real-time strategy campaigns that has players battling across a dynamic galaxy filled with procedurally-generated content. Every playthrough is different. Annihilation is final.
  • Epic Multiplayer - Play with up to ten friends (or enemies) in massive free-for-all and team-based matches.
  • Spectate - Spectate matches with a suite of incredible viewing options.
  • Advanced Command And Control - With intuitive drags and clicks, seamlessly switch between planets, mine resources, create custom unit formations, or pulverize armies.
  • Dynamic Picture-In-Picture - View and interact with your units on another planet in a second window as you focus and control the action in your primary view.
  • Instant Replays - View in-match recordings in real-time while matches are in progress. See when a battle turned by rewinding the game to any point or check out the entire match after a game ends.
  • Smash Planets - Don’t just win, annihilate. End games with the mother of all weapons: an asteroid on a collision course.

I paid 50 bucks for early access and I haven't seen any new models/mechanics since there. Now the game is almost free, and DLC with content which should be for free. I feel cheated.

Most of the negative reviews are quite old, but fortunately Steam decidade to help by creating this new review system.
Anyways, this is a really fun game. I have already played 2 full galactic conquests with no game-breaking bugs or crashes, and each match, although usually short, makes for quite a fun time, but by what I have read, if you really want to get the best this game has to offer, don't go for the regular Planetary Annihilation, go for Titans.

I payed over 50 quid for this game in their development phase, and now they want to charge me for what would otherwise be community made mod called titans. i refuse to get sucks into this wallet sucking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t when i helped you from the begining. you have otherwise made a half decent game which i really enjoyed for 145 hours.

This game is AMAZING!! Awesome job on the orbit paths, all the way to being able to make your very own Deathstar! Not even to mention the ability to change the orbits of the planets! Great job!

This game was fun at first, but it left out the needed factions. It doesn't have many units or tiers and is really laggy. Uber made a game with a lot of potential and they threw the potential away. And now they made a standalone game instead of the needed changes and expansions to the original.

Go buy Supreme Commander Forged Alliances or Homeworld Remastered instead PA.

Unfinished. And the developers are completely incompetant. Made people pay $90 and then produced this garbage, then rarely updated and even released DLC for an unfinished game. I regret purchasing this. DO NOT BUY. It is unfinished and STILL overpriced. Why would anyone pay for this?

I paid <$5 for this game and that's the most I would pay for it. It's singleplayer gets boring really fast, multiplayer is just singleplayer redux. It's aight don't pay a lot for it.

all the bad reviews are from people complaining about how the dlc is just a big money grabber. Which it is but you shouldnt give a good game a bad review because of that.

I picked up this game for $1.60 on a ♥♥♥ special sale and it is literally the best $1.60 I have ever spent ever and I would gladly pay the full price of $30 for this.

If you have played starcraft then you will probably get into this game pretty well. I actually like this game more because of the ability to fly to different planets and blow up planets and even move asteroids into planets. The warfare is extremely fun and really dynamic

10/10

just saying. I get why people are mad about the titans version because that is literally this game but with a few stuff added on to it but you have to pay more then full price over this game instead of buying like a $10 add on.

Edit: wtf its bleeped out something that wasnt even a bad word and even If i add spaces its bleeping it out.

Theres plenty of issue with the Kickstarter and standalone TITANS splitting the community but i'm not addressing that, i'm reviewing the issue with why new players abandon the game.

The main Issue in multiplayer games occurs for new players who may not have played Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander series. Stacking unit orders with SHIFT clicking is an integral part of the multiplayer experience which new players lack. There is no steady progression for new players wanting a casual game as the players using the SHIFT commands have much better economy collection and unit production early on so new players never gets to enjoy late game dynamics of nukes, planet annihilator or halley planet smashers.

The main reason theres fewer players on this game is the abondonment when new players are annihilated really early, over an over again with bot rushes or bombing the enemy commander with bombers. Would of been good to have the option to disable SHIFT or ristrict the number of orders able to be queued in some multiplayer games to get the uber-micro mouse skill players interested i.e. Starcraft fanboys.

But like chess its always better to play against a stronger apponent to improve your strategy.

Despite everyone being mad about something that happened a long time ago and spamming that thumbs down sign, I just found out about this game a couple days ago and I'll admit it is highly underrated. Don't let all those negative reviews get to you.

The gameplay is extremely straighfoward and easy to jump into which is pretty fun in my opinon, it somewhat reminds me of the game Spore with all the planets and systems you can explore. Unfortunately not many people play online anymore but the Conquest mode is still easily fun.

The strategy is very complex but in an enjoyable way. You basically find ways to take over planets from the enemy AI using the advantages of land sea or air. It all depends on your style. Oh and if you'd like to throw planets into eachother. Did I mention space nukes?

The graphics are very simplistic but if anything it makes the game more smooth, performance and visual-wise. I was expecting to get some major frame drops at some points but that rarely ever happens even when you zoom out like someone with turettes.

I'll be honest I bought this game on ♥♥♥ for like $1. It's not a bad game for the price it is now but if you dont feel like selling everything in your house I suggest you dont buy it off steam. Simple math peepz.

Now go - enjoy throwing planets like meatballs and being the Kim Jong Un of space you've always dreamed of.

(Edit - Apparently Steam doesnt like my references to sites that sell games 10x cheaper lol.)

Fun macro RTS along the lines of the Total Annihlation sub-genre.

Each match spans across multiple planets.

Play with friends. Do it when you have a lot of time on your hands.

Loved it.

There's nothing like blowing up a planet that was so heavily fortified you couldn't ever hope to conquer using "normal means"

So this game is a beautiful RTS. Escpecially when you play with friends. My friends and I did a 2v2, and after i had to leave for 30 minutes and the game was still up, i launched our planet which had our commanders on it at their planet which only had one commander. My friend I was teamed up with was screaming at me as the planets collided and we lost. Best RTS 9/11

Well I got this from a giveaway (trading cards yay) and I played with a friend, the game is pretty difficult with only one AI and planets let alone 2 and no other planets to base on. Honestly it got boring after 3 games, there's no wow factor that wanted to keep me playing! This tells me that the game is unfinished and unpolished so it's just another abandonware product.

Aww, not what we had hoped. Desperately needs the intuitive and effective user interface and control options of its precursor, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance.

In fact, SupCom FA is superior to Planetary Annihilation in every way save the space stuff. What, there's a mod for that? Okay, SC:FA is better in every way apart from the actual planet blowing up, which I have never actually done.

The scale is epic, sure, but the depth and breadth and adaptability-th of strategy is painfully small in comparison to Supreme Commander Forged Alliance.

Good game in general.

not enough damn players.

really fun mechanics - lots of different approaches to ANNIHILATE YOUR ENEMY

NEEDS CAMPAGNE. i think it would suit this game very well. Like warcraft 3 or something.

weird controls but deal with it. not hard to learn.

fun playing with bots though. more fun with friends.
