About This Game

Colonize solar systems, annihilate homeworlds, and exterminate your foes in epic interplanetary battles with multiple players and thousands of units. Planetary Annihilation takes strategy gaming to a never-before-seen scale -- and gives players powerful tools to control the action.

Blow up everything, anywhere; dominate with punishing spacecraft, robots, and other futuristic machines of war. Arm asteroids and send them on planet-destroying collision courses. And take over an entire galaxy in a dynamic single-player mode with procedurally generated content. Don’t just win, annihilate!

Key Features Include:

  • Epic Single-Player - Galactic War is a twist on traditional real-time strategy campaigns that has players battling across a dynamic galaxy filled with procedurally-generated content. Every playthrough is different. Annihilation is final.
  • Epic Multiplayer - Play with up to ten friends (or enemies) in massive free-for-all and team-based matches.
  • Spectate - Spectate matches with a suite of incredible viewing options.
  • Advanced Command And Control - With intuitive drags and clicks, seamlessly switch between planets, mine resources, create custom unit formations, or pulverize armies.
  • Dynamic Picture-In-Picture - View and interact with your units on another planet in a second window as you focus and control the action in your primary view.
  • Instant Replays - View in-match recordings in real-time while matches are in progress. See when a battle turned by rewinding the game to any point or check out the entire match after a game ends.
  • Smash Planets - Don’t just win, annihilate. End games with the mother of all weapons: an asteroid on a collision course.

Complete and utter garbage. I purchased this as an early access game because I loved Total annihilation and Supreme Commander. These guys took my money and ran.

Quite possibly the most shallow strategy game I've ever played. I wish there was more to it, but it's basically Baby's First RTS.

I bought this game in early access, full price. I've felt terribly ripped off, because game was nothing like they promised, wasn't working and was terrible at performance.

PA now is a fully working RTS that is fun to play with friends, with few problems (but none of them game breaking).

Developers were called con artists and game've received stigma of being unfinished halfcooked potato, but I don't think that is true anymore. Dev's (and Community) made this game playable and finished.
This is somehow extraordinary, most early accesses get abandoned as fast as people fill the bucket.

PS: Titans should be included in base version of the game imho
PS2: DLC commanders are a joke

Started New Game
Got 5 friends to get the game
Nobody noticed the two Spawn planets were on the same orbit, flying towards eachother
Suddenly sees my anchors get smashed
Watches my force get crushed
Six messages pop up saying "(Commander Name) Has Been Anhilated"
Everyone joins the same discord chat laughing
Everyone accuses eachother of doing this

10/10 Would Crash Planets into eachother again

Are you considering buying this game? Well you can stop then.
Buy this instead:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/9420/
It has 3 times more content than PA for a third of a price, it has actual story campaign, there are 4 races each different than the other, and you can play it offline!
Oh, and it still has lively multiplayer community.

Planetary annihilation is a great concept turned into simplistic cash grab. The game was sold on the idea of installing giant engines onto a planet, and launching it on a collision course with other planets. Also, a Death Star. As soon as you launch the game you are greeted with in-game store in which you can purchase additional content, because you know, single payment for the game will not buy you everything, let's not be ridiculous. You have only one faction. One race. Everyone's units are completely the same. Not only do you have to be always online to play, but now they're also selling you a unit pack. Because you know, maybe if you spend enough money the game will become good? Buy Forged Alliance instead, which is this game's predecessor and a complete game.

I'm just getting hang on the control for this adventure, it's not a game that struck out at me straight away but it's growing on me with some frustration during gameplay..

I do like how I can just setup to mine metal and not have to worry about transporting the goods back to my base, it's almost all automated one thing I am not happy with really is the fact that if you want to win, first start a base of operations get some anti-aircraft and cannons on the go to protect the BoO with a few mobile foces like AA tanks and ground forces.. Once that is done just setup six or even 10-12 factories to build air based forced and after that just build, build and build fighter places to ward off other air intercepting forces and protect your own.. Then build air and ground fighting aircraft and send the whole lot in to mince up the other bases.. Simple..

So if you want to win, as ever lots and lots of air fighting components and you'll be sure to win, get their first and you'll win sooner :D

Awesome game :D

A simple but fun game. Not worth £23 but you can get it for under a 1/10th of that price if you look at other sites. Don't normally like recommeding these other sites, but in this one case I am. The DLC isn't worth it, so avoid, the base game is fun enough, especially if you can get it for £2 or less. TBH, I paid about £15 in a steam sale a long time ago and I don't regret it.
