About This Game

Colonize solar systems, annihilate homeworlds, and exterminate your foes in epic interplanetary battles with multiple players and thousands of units. Planetary Annihilation takes strategy gaming to a never-before-seen scale -- and gives players powerful tools to control the action.

Blow up everything, anywhere; dominate with punishing spacecraft, robots, and other futuristic machines of war. Arm asteroids and send them on planet-destroying collision courses. And take over an entire galaxy in a dynamic single-player mode with procedurally generated content. Don’t just win, annihilate!

Key Features Include:

  • Epic Single-Player - Galactic War is a twist on traditional real-time strategy campaigns that has players battling across a dynamic galaxy filled with procedurally-generated content. Every playthrough is different. Annihilation is final.
  • Epic Multiplayer - Play with up to ten friends (or enemies) in massive free-for-all and team-based matches.
  • Spectate - Spectate matches with a suite of incredible viewing options.
  • Advanced Command And Control - With intuitive drags and clicks, seamlessly switch between planets, mine resources, create custom unit formations, or pulverize armies.
  • Dynamic Picture-In-Picture - View and interact with your units on another planet in a second window as you focus and control the action in your primary view.
  • Instant Replays - View in-match recordings in real-time while matches are in progress. See when a battle turned by rewinding the game to any point or check out the entire match after a game ends.
  • Smash Planets - Don’t just win, annihilate. End games with the mother of all weapons: an asteroid on a collision course.

Didn't save my single player game I spent 30 minutes on

Lags out when I try to host a game and change any settings.

Can't join games because I don't have a $13 expansion.

I paid 50 bucks for early access and I haven't seen any new models/mechanics since there. Now the game is almost free, and DLC with content which should be for free. I feel cheated.

Most of the negative reviews are quite old, but fortunately Steam decidade to help by creating this new review system.
Anyways, this is a really fun game. I have already played 2 full galactic conquests with no game-breaking bugs or crashes, and each match, although usually short, makes for quite a fun time, but by what I have read, if you really want to get the best this game has to offer, don't go for the regular Planetary Annihilation, go for Titans.

This game was fun at first, but it left out the needed factions. It doesn't have many units or tiers and is really laggy. Uber made a game with a lot of potential and they threw the potential away. And now they made a standalone game instead of the needed changes and expansions to the original.

Go buy Supreme Commander Forged Alliances or Homeworld Remastered instead PA.

Unfinished. And the developers are completely incompetant. Made people pay $90 and then produced this garbage, then rarely updated and even released DLC for an unfinished game. I regret purchasing this. DO NOT BUY. It is unfinished and STILL overpriced. Why would anyone pay for this?

Aww, not what we had hoped. Desperately needs the intuitive and effective user interface and control options of its precursor, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance.

In fact, SupCom FA is superior to Planetary Annihilation in every way save the space stuff. What, there's a mod for that? Okay, SC:FA is better in every way apart from the actual planet blowing up, which I have never actually done.

The scale is epic, sure, but the depth and breadth and adaptability-th of strategy is painfully small in comparison to Supreme Commander Forged Alliance.

This is supposed to be a spiritual sequel to Total Annihilation?

What an absolute disaster of a game. Everything about it is dreadful. Thank christ I got it for free.

I feel bad for backers who paid full price for this steaming pile of horse manure.

Despite everyone being mad about something that happened a long time ago and spamming that thumbs down sign, I just found out about this game a couple days ago and I'll admit it is highly underrated. Don't let all those negative reviews get to you.

The gameplay is extremely straighfoward and easy to jump into which is pretty fun in my opinon, it somewhat reminds me of the game Spore with all the planets and systems you can explore. Unfortunately not many people play online anymore but the Conquest mode is still easily fun.

The strategy is very complex but in an enjoyable way. You basically find ways to take over planets from the enemy AI using the advantages of land sea or air. It all depends on your style. Oh and if you'd like to throw planets into eachother. Did I mention space nukes?

The graphics are very simplistic but if anything it makes the game more smooth, performance and visual-wise. I was expecting to get some major frame drops at some points but that rarely ever happens even when you zoom out like someone with turettes.

I'll be honest I bought this game on ♥♥♥ for like $1. It's not a bad game for the price it is now but if you dont feel like selling everything in your house I suggest you dont buy it off steam. Simple math peepz.

Now go - enjoy throwing planets like meatballs and being the Kim Jong Un of space you've always dreamed of.

(Edit - Apparently Steam doesnt like my references to sites that sell games 10x cheaper lol.)

Oh, goody!...Look Mommy!! I can review this fine, completed, ineffable, incredible, exceptional and transcendental...sorry, sorry, that's my bad....I meant preposterous and laughable release yet again because, after the game got slammed by those of us who backed it in Early Access, got f*cked over, then the devs took it off Steam, then resubmitted it some months later so the ratings would be reset and they hoped for better reviews.

AHEM

This release, despite what they may say, or what you have been led to believe, is NOT what the finished product was supposed to be, even WITH the "Digital Deluxe Commander Bundle" addition. A large number of us bought this game whilst it was available through Early Access, (Yes, yes, I know, we're f*cking dumba**es for doing that), and were promised what seemed to amount to being a brilliant bit of software once they had finished it......However.....They decided to do half a job and then release that as a completed game. It was not.

The extra units in-game that were promised suddenly weren't included anymore, neither were several other features. So we kinda felt ripped-off, (quite understandably, I think), and watched in despair as the money we had poured into the development for this game through EA was, for all intents and purposes, basically stolen. Yes, we had paid for the game so the money wasn't physically ripped from our wallets but the game that we got, after the devs decided to do their cash-grab, WAS NOT in ANY way whatsoever, the game that we were promised...So, yes, I think that basically amounts to theft, in my books.

Now this is where it gets real good.

Having placed their many, many, many thousands of pounds/dollars/euros/whatever in their pockets now, this game was put on the "Ignore" list, and what happened then? What was it?? Oh, yeah, Planetary Annihilation: Titans was released.........and, oh, look at that! The features and units that we were promised for this release are now being sold as a completely different game now, even though the only real differences are the features that we had their words were being included here.

So we have this game and we have the "different" version that is PA: Titans, the differences being that the extra stuff that is in Titans were promised for this release, yet they've chosen to release Titans as a completely separate and different game, for the full price again, despite the "extras" that would amount to a DLC, AT MOST from other developers.

Well, Uber, you f*cked us all royally and you didn't even have the courtesy to give us a reach-around while you were doing it!! Devs like you are the reason that Early Access gets so much sh*t from people. Hell, why didn't you just release a Unity pack as a full game and have done with it??

So, yeah, I'm a small, petty little man but if my review goes towards somebody thinking twice about buying this game, then I suppose that's some small consolation and I can rest easier knowing that I haven't got a chafed sphincter for nothing.

Sorry about the length of the b*tching but it had to be said

*** Unfinished Game! ***

This game has a big potential but greedy devs killed it. Yes talking about releasing this game again with couple new units as a new one and charging full price to everyone. Shame on you devs!

So far i have encountered this bu*****t.
  • Games won't save (even game says they did)
  • Menu lobby lags as hell when you are changing rules
  • Unbalanced units and overall fights
  • Bad description of achievements
  • In-game bugs
  • and more....

on the other hand this game have nice soundtrack.

I can say it's not even worth that 7€ in sale with -75% discount.

The developers for this game can choke on my sodden ♥♥♥♥.
Why? One big reason, I was an early access buyer for this game, hell, by that I mean I freaking paid during the Kickstarter.
Over the first year of development I was fairly optimistic, then the updates seem to matter less and less and the potential started frying in the sun like a savagely foul turd.

Then they decided to release it, they release this unfinished, bug-ridden, unbalanced garbage pile of a game, promised to fix it (for god's sake you couldn't even save during singleplayer), and then promptly gave up on it.

After that, through some insane ungodly act of complete lunacy and rage-inducing stupidity, they release an "expansion" (in quotes because I considered the god damn thing to really be a patch that was the final product we SHOULD have received) and ask me to pay again to receive the game I should have gotten in the first place.

Are you kidding me? A pithy little discount? Screw you, screw you god dammit.
I was frothing mad, there was slime dribbling out my mouth and pure rancid acid splashing out my bunghole as the crushing pressure of hatred condensed my body into a singular black lump of complete and utter loathing for the nincompoops that dribbled this hideous abortion of a game out of their diseased birth canals.
The developers of this game can eat my ♥♥♥, they can stew in their own fetid consommé of DEATH while they stew in hell until the heat death of the universe.
