Great game. Fun, not too easy, not too hard. Great LucasArts feel with awesome graphics and music.
Does seem a little childish and silly at the very beginning - don't fool yourself. This game is far smarter and funnier than it seems in the first 5 min. GREATLY RECOMMEND.

+ Great art
+ Great humor
+ Nontrivial and surprising story
+ Puzzles that require thinking and some creativity (and observation of the world)
+ Not too many stupid puzzles that require behaving exactly as authors imagined
- In second part some puzzles are really puzzling (:D), but not stupid

A very good p&c adventure with fantastic voice acting - one of the best I've ever seen in a game.
I have neither felt nostalgia described by other reviewers, nor have I seen act 2 as being definitely worse than act 1.
The riddles near the end of the game seem to be overthought, but this is the only flaw of the game I can think of.

I really wanted to like this game. I went into it having read mainly positive reviews. Unfortunately the game is let down tremendously by Act 2 and the poorly-explored story. The ending puzzles are also stupidly frustrating and artifically difficult - I didn't bother to finish the game and just watched the ending on YouTube. I was glad I did because I would be annoyed if all my hard work resulted in it!

This is quite a gentle, slow-paced game for the most part. While there are some timing puzzles that require you to be quick, overall everything takes a leisurely pace. This didn't bother me but some may find it too slow.

Act 1 of the game is the only part of the game worth playing. You play as either Shay or Vella up to a certain point, and then switch to the character you didn't choose at the start to play through their story until the two stories align with each other. While Vella's story is more interesting, there are moments in Shay's that genuinely made me laugh.

Act 2 is very confined to the areas you can explore and doesn't tread much new ground. I was disappointed by this as I'd hoped that it would add more new areas or expand old ones. The puzzles also spike in difficulty, with some being made artifically difficult and frustrating. The second part of the story is also rushed through at a tremendous pace and almost entirely through dialogue with the antagonist. It was interesting that the tone of the game became a lot darker, but it was never fully realised.

Overall this game was a big disappointment. If you want to play I would advise keeping a walkthrough handy and having a phone nearby to take photos of some puzzle elements that need to be memorised, but even then you're going to be frustrated.

Pros:

- Gorgeous art style and smooth animation
- Writing that's actually quite funny in places
- Act 1

Cons:

- The story attempts to be grand but falls flat
- Very few areas to explore overall
- Some puzzles require big leaps of logic or remembering a lot of information
- Unsatisfying ending
- Act 2

Excellent title. Tim Schafer and the rest of Double Fine pull off another great puzzle adventure game with a wonderful narrative tying the whole thing together. 10/10 Would Recommend

Pros:
-Looks great, sounds great
-Funny and charming, as you'd expect from Double Fine
-Memorable and amusing NPCs
-Puzzles are mostly fun and fair, and hints are available through dialogue

Cons:
-Shay is boring and flat, and you spend half the game controlling him
-Act 2 is noticeably less polished than Act 1
-Story leaves quite a few noticeable hanging threads, ending is rushed and disappointing
-Lots of wasted time backtracking and going through dialogue menus in Act 2
-Seriously, the ending sucks

Kickstarter hype backlash aside, this is a mostly above-average P&C adventure that bogs down a bit toward the end. I'd be bummed if I sent Tim Schafer a month's rent for it, but if you can pick it up on sale it's definitely worth a look if you're a fan of the genre and don't mind being disappointed by the ending.

Meh.

Pros-
- Looks great
- Plays well
- Fantastic voice acting and dialogue
- Interesting environments
- Good length

Cons
-Ultimately kind of dry in terms of story, second act was especially weak
-Puzzles are sometimes confusing, needed to look up a guide

Wouldn't recommend at 25$, bought at 6 bucks.

Halfway through, I just wanted it to end. The puzzles get so ridicolous, there's really no correlation between the items you have to get and the tasks you have to complete in order to progress.

First episode\act was GREAT.
Second episode and the ending killed ALL the mood, the story and the meaning of this game.
"Aaand it's gone...". Gone.

It's like you've got a yammy donut, made a bite, and then it turn into sh...t.
If you wanna play, STOP right after the first episode (Act 1).

Great first half, meh second half, terrible ending.

Fist half is an awesome point&click with great voice acting, an intriguing world and puzzles that a normal human being can solve.
The whole second half feels rushed and has weird logic in the puzzles. Where it was interesting to see the story unfold out of their different positions in the first half, the second half has you switch between characters randomly to somehow somewhere find information that you need to advance with the other character.
Also no payoff at all in the ending.

The art is gorgeous, the voice talent is sublime and together they give the game true character. The soundtrack has been so carefully considered and composed. This game is much greater than the sum of its parts and it is really knocking my socks off.
