Gone Home is an exploration game to find out the history of yourself, your sister and your parents. That's the core of the game, it is more like an interactive story at your own pace, it does not have any decision making points or anything, just a regular linear storyline.
The sound design is awesome, it's the best thing in the game. You will feel very immersive in the game, the ambience, the TV's, radios, the doors, light switches, everything in the house has a great sound. Also, the voice acting is so great that when you start to know more the person in those dialogs you will try to find everyone to keep listening to it and know all about it.
The visual design isn't that great but the interaction in your house is pretty nice, you can grab, read and open almost anything you see and all the 90's references are very good too.
The gameplay was the negative point of the game for me. I miss an option to run or walk a little bit faster in the house because it is so big and in some moments I felt worried to find out what was really going on and the character looks so distant and so indifferent about what was presented to me that I felt disconnected. I wanted to find out that was happened, I was feeling the story, immersed in it, but I couldn't react that way. I was an robot without feeling. And that was very frustrating.
So, if you want a good interactive story with a great voice acting and sound (even when your character doesn't seems to react at all) you should try this title. If it's not the case and you want some control in the story or making decisions, this is not a game for you.
