Über dieses Spiel

- Play it whenever, wherever, however
Play on Linux for the first time, plus the inclusion of ‘cloud-save’ technology which means that managers can now pursue a single career from any computer, anywhere in the world. FM14 also includes integration with Steam Workshop making it easy for managers to create and share customised FM content such as photo/logo packs, new and custom competitions and tailor-made challenges using the new Challenge Editor.

- Improved Match Engine
The 3D Match Engine has seen extensive improvements, including enhanced AI, improved lighting and player animation, individual player character and kit models, more realistic player reaction to on-field incidents and a range of optimisations which combine to make this the best looking and fastest FM Match Engine yet.

- Tactical overhaul
There has been a complete redesign of how tactics are created, selected and implemented with player roles and team strategies becoming even more prominent, definable roles for players for multiple positions, new player roles and instructions and improvements to rival managers' AI so that they’ll adapt their tactics more readily over time.

- More realistic transfers and contracts
FM 2014 features a revamped transfer module where opposing clubs and managers adopt a more realistic approach when making or responding to transfer offers. In addition, a number of new ‘real world’ transfer clauses have been added, such as the facility to loan a player back to the club he’s just been bought from and the option to offer a combination of cash and loan players, as well as new contract clauses such as a sub bench appearance fee. On top of this, the old ‘turn-based’ system of transfer negotiations can now be done two ways, the tried and tested system and a new ‘live’ system, similar to that used in FM’s contract negotiations.

- More sophisticated board interaction
Contract negotiations are more realistic in FM 2014, as managers and boards can now make demands and lay down their respective visions for the club in both initial job interviews and contract renewal discussions. Managers can also attempt to renegotiate transfer and wage budgets as a reward for staying loyal if they’ve been offered a job by another club, with the outcome helping aid their decision on whether to move or not.

- Improved interaction with players, staff and media
There is now better interaction between players, managers, their rivals and the media; for example, members of the coaching staff now offer feedback on how reserve and youth team players are performing. Managers can also ask key players to have a word with unhappy squad members, while the introduction of an end-of-season meeting allows the manager to let the squad know how they have performed and set targets for the coming season.

- News system
The news system has been overhauled so managers can now deal with many club matters directly from their inbox. In addition, news is now colour-coded, based on category, and contains more detail – for example, scout reports now appear as a single news item with a top-line report on all players scouted and the facility to shortlist or make an offer for each of these players.

- Enhanced user interface
Major changes have been made to FM 2014’s user interface. Key areas have been redesigned – including the training overview page, the transfer centre and the news homepage – while widespread changes have been made across the game’s user interface. The language employed throughout the game has also enjoyed a major overhaul and now corresponds more closely to the language of real world football.

- Football Manager Classic evolved
Managers can now choose more than three playable nations in Classic mode for a more immersive experience. In addition, FM’s ‘fast play’ mode now includes Transfer Deadline Day, a Match Plan wizard and new unlockables.

10/10. My wife and child have not received child support payments from me in months, and the dog has died. In an act of love for SI games I have recently burned my PhD and danced in the ashes while saying a prayer in Latin to the developers. Currently their are 8 missing person reports out for me, and I have been evicted from my house, but it no longer matters to me so long as I get my fix. Recently I have had to sell my body for food. Before I did this, I of course ate the dog, because I have dignity. I would recommend this game to everyone.

Essentially it's like snorting coke, crack and injecting heroin simultaniously.

The overall objective of the game is to have a child whom you can groom to be the top star of the footballing world. Earning slave's wages of £300,000 in a week and being forced to play up to 270 minutes of football in a single week. As you sit and destroy your child's body before the age of the 30 due to burnout you may choose to replace him with a regen with whom you feel more affinity because he doesn't cry about being substituted and has you in his favoured personnel.

Sometimes you can take control of clubs with more money than sense and buy cheese such as Balanta in order to ruin the experience for yourself because you win everything. Remember, kids, real men install >user db or start unemployed and end up at Uniao Madeira.

P.S. Football Manager is not a game

An improvement on FM 13, with new player instructions, roles, etc. The tactical instruction overhaul is a welcome change as well. The match engine is an improvement, with players capable of flowing passing moves leading to goals. An unfortunate issue is that there's far too much shooting from tight angles, even when a player has several team mates awaiting a pass inside the area. The overhit corners is also problematic with the "he certainly didn't mean that" plays which results in the ball hitting the crossbar, or in some cases, dropping behind the keeper.

A good evolution on FM 13, barring the above mentioned bugs, which hopefully will be addressed for the full release of FM 15, if they haven't been tweaked already.

The game is as gripping and addictive as ever, the database with its huge number of leagues, clubs and players gives you an unlimited playing time and leading your fav club to glory feels good man. However, I REALLY wish that instead of adding some superfluous and sometimes downright irritating "features" (like press nagging you with the same pointless questions all the time) with each iteration, they'd finally fix the same dumb stuff that's there from the beginning and doesn't want to go away. Transfer market making no sense, completely impossible stuff happening in the match engine, your goalkeepers always conceding and being the worst rated players in your team because AI can't create enough goalscoring chances so they need to score from what they get, etc. - we all know it, you know it, fix it. Also, if you can't make a new feature work, then don't add it just for the sake of it being there, like for example contract negotiations, where a 33 yo player demands a huge pay rise and won't sign a 1 year contract extension without getting one... And, typically for the series, the game has its own quirks even after the patching, this time it's stuff like hitting posts and bar 3-4 times each game.

All in all, thumbs up for this game being a huge life stealer as per usual, but thumbs down for the clearly visible stagnation of the series.

Pros: The Most addictive, fun and intelligent game you'll play, also extremelly realistic to the point it is used by coaches.

Cons: And this is a big one, they don't make it clear or easy to select Cloud saving, and it isnt by default. Unless you read this you might end up regrettig that. When my HDD died, I lost 76hours of gameplay, as I didnt even know that cloud saving was optional, I thought it was by default like in most other games.
And thats a terrible thing to happen after so much work in this game.

This game is a work of art and definitely worth the money. Also the level of depth in this game is incredible! The “Goal” of this game is stay with a club long enough to have them pick up your son and eventually watch him become a world star soccer player. This game can be easy beat if you just pick a top team and play from there. But if you're looking to make this game a challenge try starting with a lower league or unemployed. After reading some reviews about this game a lot of people seem to be having trouble mid season when they seem to start losing games to the AI a lot more. I simply fixed this by fully training out three tactics that are based on attacking and having a third tactic based on a great defense. Constantly switching between the two attacking tactics and using the third tactic when I had a solid lead will help when the AI adapts to your tactics. Also try to keep the max amount of coaches at time to maximize your training. With a little luck, a lot of time, and some tactical awareness you can dominate this game. Good luck!

There is no such thing as graphics, rag doll effect, explosions etc. It is a wonderful version of Excel, where you write your own history as a football team manager - an all-in-one man caring for the tactics for an upcoming match, for the morale of the players, for the transfers and a lot more. And what's the best - this game does not get older, so don't worry, if the next edition will be soon released - it doesn't matter, if this is 2010 or 2014 edition. If you love football, then you must have this game. Be careful though - it's addictive!
