In my honest opinion I think that Deadfall Adventures had everything it needed to be a success but it turned into a disaster. You can describe it as a First Person Shooter Indiana Jones or Uncharted. The game doesn't look that bad and the gameplay is somewhat decent but the more I played it the more I despised it. No matter what gun you use they all feel the same, there's barely any recoil on the guys and they're fairly standard, usual World War 2 weaponry, you can either fire from the hip or aim down sights and that's probably one of the things I less enjoy on a First Person Shooter. Not only to mention it has regenerating health which is something I really hate in games nowadays because you can just go hide behind cover and wait for you to recover full health. The game is extremely linear but it does reward exploration by finding treasure which you can then spend upgrading your health, health regeneration, decreasing weapon spread and recoil etc. The game has some interesting design choices to it such as the use of the compass to find hidden treasure and the ocasional treasure maps you come across on each level, ocasionally you'll come across some puzzle sections in temples that do provide a varied and different experience from the rest of the game and the only help you have to beat them is your notebook, this was probably for me the only strong point of the game. Story wise it's kinda okay, the voice acting is pretty much terrible but it ocasionaly has some humour on the writing. There's also no save feature, only checkpoints which might upset some people, such as me. Overall, considering it's price I don't think Deadfall Adventures is a game you should be looking foward to, it's also worth mentioning it costs 40€ for europeans while it also costs $40 for people from North America which it's a considerable price difference. I'd recommend avoiding it, if you're eager to try it out you might want to wait for a heavy discount.
