The War of Emperium is a guild versus guild siege battle. Your fellow guild members are your battle allies while members of other guilds are your enemies. All the guilds participating will have to compete with each other to attack and take the fortress.
Siege weapons and defensive items will be at your disposal! Attackers gain an advantage by taking smaller Emperiums that will provide your guild with unique buffs. Once the gates are destroyed, attacking guilds will face off against guardians protecting the main fortress Emperium. The guild that destroys the Emperium become the new owners, and will be the defenders of their spoils in the next round of the War of Emperium.

I've never experienced another MMO with this many bugs.

First, in order to log in with Steam there is a separate launcher from the game. This only works half the time and there is no way to manually log in. After every update it stops working or sometimes it just stops working for no apparent reason. Second, quests are bugged. I've had a main storyline quest just break with no way to recover it and no other quests available, effectively making the entire character useless. Google revealed that there are several quests in particular that have been broken for years without anyone working on them. Third, the prices for items are different depending if you are on the Warp Portal website or if you're on Steam. The best deals are on their site. Also, some items expire after a couple of days (which is bad if you can't log in half of the time.)

The game has been doctored so that Warp Portal can make more money. In the original Korean servers, there are quite a few Tiger mounts that you could purchase for in game money. All of these have been removed and put in a cash shop were you have a CHANCE at getting them permamently in a box. (There is only one mount available that does not require real money.) Costumes are not permament either. Most costumes expire after 30 days and you need to buy extenders to keep it. Both these items cost real money. If you want a permament costume the only way to get it is by more chance items, or by getting a lot of rare stones to play a pyramid game (which has an extrememly low chance of getting an item.) Inventory / Bank space is severely limited. Only 'medium' bags are dropped / purchasable which hardly have any slots. You will get these at level 10. If you want actual space, you need to buy bags from the cash shop. RO2 may not be a 'pay to win' but it sure is a 'pay to do anything fun' sort of game. Server population is pretty low. No one seems to be socializing. In fact, all the social interaction I had was a creepy guy hitting on me. So, if you play MMOs in hopes of finding some new buddies to talk too, you won't find them here.

If you insist on plaything this game, do not do it through Steam. Go to the site itself, or better yet find another company / private server. Warp portal is not doing a good job integrating RO2 with Steam. If the game actually worked as intended I might suggest it for someone looking for a casual game to play with friends (if you don't mind old school rpg grinding) but since Warp portal provides such a terrible service, I suggest trying one of Aeria Games' anime MMOs instead. They have a cash shop too, but they are more fair about what they give you.

Overall RO2 is a HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT and I am not saying this because it is different from the first game. I am saying this because of the bugs, Warp portal's poor choice of business model and all the issues I've been having. I've played a ton of f2p mmos and none have quite been this bad. You have been warned!

I was hoping that its gameplay would be like the first Ragnarok Online but just in a full 3D environment. But the game is almost unregonizable from the original Ragnarok anymore except for some familliar places. The game became more restrictive and doesnt have the openess of the old one. The visuals are subpar from its contemporaries and its gameplay is seems to be very common with other Korean Online games. The early game bosses doesnt offer that much challenge as the bosses from old RO. Although the inclusion of raids is good, that is also the only place where you can get an actual challenge because this game is too easy. All in all, I do not suggest this game to old RO players and I discourage players new to RO to try this one because you will be dissapointed.

To most Ragnarok 1 players of course they won't initially like it because it did not stick with the original, I was a former player of Ragnarok 1. But I adapted and fell in love with this game, not bad for me, no overcrowding of merchants on prontera, no deadbranch abuse on low level places, the graphics still give the Rune-Midgard feel, I like the questing system. This is a game worth trying honestly, even though it is bashed I think it is on it's early stages, there is still room for more cool updates. Plus, weapons and armor are cool. More power to Ragnarok 2. I hope more people and former Ragnarok players adapt on this game : )

Just feels like a grind near the start of the game to actually get anything. Mostly generic quests like go find item A or kill x number of mobs. Graphics and design isnt that bad but overall for me I dislike it.

Not as much depth as the original as far as the class system goes, but that doesn't necessarily leave much to be desired. To the contrary this simplifies (maybe oversimplifies) things in a managable way. I'm currently playing each of the the classes except Archer and each one is enjoyable. They're fun to play and each feels unique without feeling too much like the same classes from other MMOs. In short, it stands out and not just because of its heritage. However, its still mostly dependent on the cliches and tried and true formula of the genre, so if you're simply too jaded to try another MMO then stay away from this one, but I will tell you that its entertaining in its own right.

Disclaimer: I didn't play the original, so I can't speak of the story-telling, quest-system, or over-arching game systems/structure. This is just my general opinion of a generally great MMO.

It's okay if you never followed the first game, entertaning on a basic level of being just another MMO . I had fun with it but unless your really get into it you'll stop playing after awhile,

I've played Ragnarok (the first, chibi version) and when RO2 came out, had to try it. Altho still very kawaii, the game is feature rich, very immersive and perhaps one of the very few MMOs that keeps me totally entertained as a solo player.

This game is somewhat similar to flyff . Furthermore, have the same idea as Log Horizon anime . Especially the sub-classes such as chef and craftsman . Gameplay and so on are very similar to DN and Flyff. Not much of a originallity i guess? However, graphics are nice. Better than flyff at least . On par with DN`s graphics.

Great game that lives in the shadows of its older brother RO1. When I first started the game a year ago it was full of bugs, errors quitting the game without my permission, and graphic glitches... I left the game a few months due to work but most importantly, my friends walked away from the game as well...

The real reason I play Ragnarok is because the friends I am able to make there, slightly different group of people...

Anyway... as of October of 2014, the game finally fixed the errors it had, the game is more balanced, believe it takes more space in your harddrive, and the prices (real money) of items are getting more stable and realistic. Obviously my friends came back as well!

I usually play and will continue playing in Channel 10, come visit....
