Cannon Brawl blasts into Final Release!

September 19

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9qKU-pt11Q

Today is the big day, Cannon Brawl is now 1.0!

We’re really proud of what we’ve accomplished. Cannon Brawl is fun, looks fantastic, and explores new areas of design for strategy games. It’s everything we imagined it would be: full campaign, puzzle levels, and deep and competitive online multiplayer.

We've come a long way from the little prototype I made back in college. It won the Activision Independent Games Competition, which launched me and Theresa’s journey into full time indie game development as Turtle Sandbox. It was selected in the 2012 PAX 10, which helped get our name out there and was the first time we demoed it publicly. We launched our alpha in July of 2013 on Early Access, and today we’re now ready to call it done! Of course, we’ll still be supporting it with future patches and updates.

Huge thanks to everyone who played the Early Access builds, we got a ton of great feedback and it’s made the game better than we ever thought possible. It’s been great to have players who play the game at a higher level than we do and can help balance and tune in ways we couldn't have done on our own.

We’ll be streaming on Twitch from 12pm-8pm PST here: http://www.twitch.tv/cannonbrawlgame. Stop on by to join our celebration of launch day and see some exciting match ups in online multiplayer!

About the Game

Get ready to play the next evolution of the artillery genre!

Cannon Brawl is an exciting mix of real time strategy and artillery gameplay. Command your airship to capture gold mines and build everything from cannons to lasers. Drop attack buildings from your airship, then pop into them to take skill shots at your opponent in real time. Upgrade each building to boost its devastating power. Advance across the kingdom in single player to unlock and discover new buildings, then experiment with each one to find your favorite combination in online multiplayer.

Want to rush to the high ground and launch a rain of missiles from above? You can! Try out tons of other strategies and crush your friends!

This game is a ton of fun! It's like Worms + an RTS. Really fast-paced and a lot of variable strategy to win.

This game is great. My friends and I have been playing it since the greenlight prelease on Steam and it's amazing. It has a great blend of twitch/strategy, the art is excellent, perhaps the only thing I can think of that would improve the game is enabling 4 player so that I could get my other good friend in on our brawl sessions.

This game is amazing, especially when I'm smashing up my bros. I love skill-based multiplayer games, and this one takes the cake for sheer (skill + excitement) / time: every second is jammed with action. Love it!

Cannon Brawl is a frenzied, strategy RTS that is tons of fun with or without friends to play with. The single player campaign is fun and interesting enough to make you want to play through (aside from it also giving you towers for free). The only complaint I have is with the multiplayer. There are plenty of ways to play whether you want to play with a friend locally over a LAN, or challenge them directly over the net, against a computer AI or online against others. The issue is in the levels. I love the levels that are there, but there isn’t as many as I’d like. Cannon Brawl’s battles can get real repetitive aesthetically even though the battles are fun. Maybe they could give us more maps or allow players to create levels themselves. With the numerous amounts of variations you can pick with the towers, I just wish I had more places to blow up.

This is a really solid game that mixes the artillery and RTS genres together perfectly. It cuts out all of the wait time normally associated with an artillery type of game and replaces it with RTS elements. This makes for a much more fast paced and enjoyable experience that still retains the fun of angling shots over long distances to hit enemies.

Early Access Review
A very addicting and well crafted game.

There aren't a lot of players online, so if you try to do ranked you will be mathched up vs either Gort or Watson, two ranked bots programmed into the game.

At first ranked will be easy as you climb the ladder, you only get a tiny amount of points for winningm but you lose billions of points for defeats, so If you play for an hour straight and only won, ONE DEFEAT WILL TAKE ALL OF IT AWAY.

Ranked needs to be fixed and ballancing might have to occur. Overall, there needs to be more players.

BUY THIS GAME but do yourself a favor and stay away from ranked until more people are active and the elo system is adjusted.
