About This Game

What happens when DLC practices go too far? An indie developer makes a game that mocks the industry and its foibles, that's what! Defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl! But first you'll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing.

Thankfully this is just satire and all the DLC is purchased with in-game coins. But consider it a cautionary tale for the future...

Key Features:

  • Two full length campaigns: the original award-winning "DLC Quest", and the brand new "Live Freemium or Die"
  • Platforming action! Coins to collect, a princess to save, a bad guy (or two) to defeat. You like that stuff, right?
  • Over 30 different DLC packs, each providing quiet introspection on the state of the gaming industry
  • Over 20 achievements to earn and make you feel reasonably satisfied with yourself
  • Online leaderboards

DLC Quest is an amusing game that rightly pokes fun at the gaming industry while at the same time being a genuinely fun platformer.

The game is divided into two parts. First part is easy and won't really challenge too much, except maybe finding all the hidden items. The second part has a moderate challenge that adds wall-jumping (which Player must earn by getting the DLC), spikes and a hilarious ending. It's great to play a game that makes you laugh most of the way through. Also, for 100% achievement hunters, this game's list of achievements is short and reasonable.

Perhaps not worth full price since the playing time is about 3 hours, but recommended whenever on sale.

EDIT: changed "The game is broken" to "The game is divided" ...

Spend your money on this to understand you should not needlessly waste money.

'It takes money to save money'

Great game, great concept. Really witty and humorous. This game is a satire of games and the useless DLCs offered by devs and that people even buy them (So do i, kill me). The game was pretty short which is actually good according to the price i would say. Best of all, free DLCs. What more do you want from life ?
