About This Game

What happens when DLC practices go too far? An indie developer makes a game that mocks the industry and its foibles, that's what! Defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl! But first you'll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing.

Thankfully this is just satire and all the DLC is purchased with in-game coins. But consider it a cautionary tale for the future...

Key Features:

  • Two full length campaigns: the original award-winning "DLC Quest", and the brand new "Live Freemium or Die"
  • Platforming action! Coins to collect, a princess to save, a bad guy (or two) to defeat. You like that stuff, right?
  • Over 30 different DLC packs, each providing quiet introspection on the state of the gaming industry
  • Over 20 achievements to earn and make you feel reasonably satisfied with yourself
  • Online leaderboards

for a game that is so heavily based on DLC, it doesn't actually have any DLC, this upsets me

Well knew before as "Extras" or "Expansions", gaming marketing was growing and that was the best opportunity to the gaming industries to cut the game on pieces to sold them separately to gain much money and make the game uncomfortable.

Here's when a hero rises, to continue his quest. But during his travel he will know how can annoying can be DLCs.

DLC Quest is a 2D indie game that show us how can ridiculous can be the DLCs. As example (and i guess that in a near future) the DLC to buy the pause menu, another one to buy the sound, etc.

It has 2 wonderful campaigns: DLC Quest and Live Freemium or Die, both are funny.

You can buy and buy upgrades to make this game more interesting. It's a bit short but it will give you a time of fun.
