About This Game

What happens when DLC practices go too far? An indie developer makes a game that mocks the industry and its foibles, that's what! Defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl! But first you'll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing.

Thankfully this is just satire and all the DLC is purchased with in-game coins. But consider it a cautionary tale for the future...

Key Features:

  • Two full length campaigns: the original award-winning "DLC Quest", and the brand new "Live Freemium or Die"
  • Platforming action! Coins to collect, a princess to save, a bad guy (or two) to defeat. You like that stuff, right?
  • Over 30 different DLC packs, each providing quiet introspection on the state of the gaming industry
  • Over 20 achievements to earn and make you feel reasonably satisfied with yourself
  • Online leaderboards

This is a such a funny game. In less than an hour I finished the main plot, but oh dear this made me smile all the time. It's a really nice satire to all those DLCs.

At the start you can't even go to the left, you don't have animations, no sound and you can't pause the game. But later you can do everything. From getting a hat to shooting everybody to death.

The humor in the game is just brilliant. I love it. There a signs everywhere that tell you what to do. So for example there is a dead end in a cave, so there is a sign: "Dead end." Just next to it: "No seriously, go back."

The people to talk to in the game, or even a horse, are also quite hilarious. One person sais: "I don't have anything relevant to say at this time. I'll play an important role soon, but you don't know that yet."

The cutscene at the beginning of the game is so bad it's really hilarious. The story of it. Haha. No words.

There is a lot more humor in this game. But you have to figure that out yourself.

Also, don't murder the sheep for no good reason.

One of the most amazing indie platformers I've seen yet.
The mechanic of this game is awesome and funny at the same time.
If you want about 2 hours pure fun and are person who will always try to find everything this is your game.
As i said it's rather short, but it's certainly worth its money.
Sadely no replayability.

English Version:

Given to me by a friend, I wanted to try this game, starting to play it without many claims.

A satirical and polemic indie about the continuously increasing downloadable contents after the sale of any game (contents that, as a matter of fact, should already be included in the game itself).

The game has no real plot, or rather, It's the same old ''save the princess'' like Super Mario. It offers simple but diversified scenarios (some of theme are totally absurd). To me it was brilliant in some aspects, in others a bit too extreme but always funny. However, the whole thing is a fun and challenging adventure.

Unfortunately, It's short-lived and there are only two chapters. Still It's quite cheap, so I recommend It to anyone who desires to spend a few hours having fun.

A funny, short and simple RPG quest to save the princess where everything you can do in the game is a consumable DLC. You want a pause screen? There's a DLC for that. You want animation? There's a DLC for that. Jumping, weapons, etc... including a true ending, there's a DLC for that. This game mocks the current DLC system that games often times misuse and it creates a fun and amusing game. The game itself is simple RPG/platforming elements combined fairly well. The movement of your character feels right, which makes the platforming portion simple and frustration free. The graphics are very simplistic, but not retro. The only downfall to this game is how short it is. There are games here, the original DLC Quest and the Freemium expansion. Both, according to an achievement can be done in less than 30 minutes. Well worth the money if you can find it for less than $1.

I bought this game on sale but I would highly recommend it full price because it is only 3 euro. This game just makes fun of every in-game purchases game and ridiculous DLC for games that are out there right now, Bar 12 achievements I have fully completed this game in 66 minutes, it is short but I really enjoyed it and it's been a long time since I actually enjoyed playing a game. If you are looking for a laugh buy this game right now!

Read on for only 50 coins.

AUDIO: Basic                                                              AESTHETIC: Retro
MEMORABILITY: Humorous                                      WORTH: Discount

PROS: A joke game that criticizes how far DLC tends to go, specifically DLC available on-disc or that contain essential aspects of the game. Gameplay itself is a typical collect-a-thon, not too difficult but about 30 minutes or so of game-time. More if you go for achievements.

CONS: A bit of a one-note show. Had it criticized several points of modern gaming, I would probably see it worth its full price. It's pretty short, as well.

OVERALL: There's not much to say that doesn't ruin its punchlines. It's pretty accurate, but as a project on its own it feels unfinished. I feel like this could've been a successful vessel to many more jokes on the current state of the game industry and some of the habits it holds.
