This game is a masterpiece any gamer should play.
It's old school, so what? Some retro games are actually better than modern games.

The objective? KILL. COLLECT. DEFEAT.

You're like a serial killer for aliens.

11/10, really great game, although you should get GZDoom or Zandronum otherwise the customization, music, and graphics are complete trash. I expected Steam to actually give the graphics clearly, as it looks like it's just smoke blocking your sight.

You pay for what you get; DOOM II, one of the best shooters of all time. You can do whatever you want with the game's WAD; I reccomend replacing the DOSbox launcher with something more modern such as zdoom (this is fairly simple to do). This allows for a more enhanced playing experience. Launch options aside, DOOM II is still a pretty solid game to this day, offering tons of action and excitement.

Why don't you own this? Infinite replayability with thousands of mods and source ports!
Also, don't get ZDoom, it's nowhere close the original game. Instead, get PRBoom+!

A great sequel to a great classic game. If there is any Doom from Doom series I would play more then The Ultimate DOOM then it is DOOM 2, with the double barrel shotgun, new enemies, maps and music. And there is even more mods for this one then for The Ultimate DOOM. What is not to love?

DOOM II: Hell on Earth was the first game I played on PC back in 1995, albeit in shareware form. It came on a 3.5" floppy disk by the means of a friend of a friend of my father's.

Being only 10 years old at that time, I wasn't allotted many gaming hours in my daily routine, so I had to make them count — and what better way to do so if not playing the most gorgeous, violent, realistic-looking game ever made? I remember I spent Sunday mornings smelling the scent of lunch being prepared and killing Imps, running away from Cacodæmons and swearing when facing Hell knights. I was genuinely scared, everything looked so damn real and engaging, and my heart was racing the entire time — I had so much fun, even just by remembering all of this!

You should play DOOM and DOOM II immediately. Like, right now.

I bought a pack with doom 2 hell on earth, master levels for doom 2, final doom and the ultimate doom a few months ago and they all freeze at the title screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Without question, absolutley, 100 % absolutley, one of the best, greatest, fun, WHATEVER, game ever made in the universe.
I could sit hours and describe how DOOM is fun and why you should play it.
The sequel to 1993 hit, Doom, is amazing, with all the WADs the community created (Yes, the community is still active and pretty big) And mods, stuff that you can create with the Doom Editor.
Dont like DOSBox? Alright! Play it on Zdaemon, Zdoom, Zandronum, Odamex, GZDoom, SkullTag, and many more!
You can even play online with most of these ports, which is VERY, VERY, VERY, FUN.
Seriously, i sat AND I STILL SIT hours playing it on multiplayer (Find me on Zdaemon and Zandronum, Vadam5) without noticing how time flies by.
The music is one of the best i ever heard in a video game
Overall, Its a must play. A Real must ♥♥♥♥ing play. 666/10.
You dont like DOOM? You need your head checked, the faster the better.
Go. And. Buy. Doom.
Middle finger to Modern Millitary Shooters

My list of favorite WADs/mods for Doom:
Plutonia 2 Revisited Community Project (Zdaemon), *Cough* UACMN *Cough*, Doom 2 the way ID did, Back to Saturn (Zdaemon), Brutal Doom, *My personal favorite* 8-Bit Deathmatch (Zandronum), Doom 2 Remix (Zdaemon), Doom Barracks Zone, LAWorlds, All Out Of War 2 (Zandronum).

The fastest shooter game ever, Doom is a timeless classic that I have played on and off for more than 15 years. It's easily my favorite and most played game of all time. On my hard drive I have hand-picked community-made levels, textures and mods and together they are about 130 times the size of the base game. This is literally enough content to keep you playing for years. Talk about free DLC, especially considering most of the community maps are of a higher visual standard than the originals! God bless the Two Johns and the most wonderful fruit of their labor!
