Ce au de spus producătorii:

De ce Acces Timpuriu ?

“As a small team of 3, ‘Dream’ is our first game and so we have a lot to learn! One of the best ways to make sure we’re on track is to get community feedback as we go along. This also helps us focus our time on the features that our audience most wants.”

Aproximativ cât timp se va afla acest joc în Acces Timpuriu?

“Our current timeline has ‘Dream’ coming out of early access in Q2 2015.”

Ce diferenţe vor fi între versiunea completă, finală şi cea aflată în Acces Timpuriu?

“Being on Early Access allows the community to help refine the game all the way to final release.
Upon completion, ‘Dream’ will have a rich story throughout the games levels in multiple languages.

Mechanics and features for ‘Dream’ will be added, altered and refined for the full version after being tried out and tweaked in Early Access. Some of these include a more comprehensive and easy to use Inventory System, Collectibles to find which offer story and rewards, Options expanded with more intuitive menus and In-Game items which help aid with exploration and game optimisations.

While these are already somewhat available in the Early Access version they only represents a small part. The story serves as a placeholder in order to give a general idea without spoilers and give players some context in order to voice their opinions in shaping the game”

Care este starea actuală a versiunii aflate în Acces Timpuriu?

“Two out of the three acts of ‘Dream’ are available to play with different levels being at different stages of completion. An Alpha of the Oculus Rift version is also available for DK1. DK2 will be added once there is support from Epic.”

Va avea jocul aflat în Acces Timpuriu un preţ diferit faţă de versiunea finală?

“Dream will be included in sales where appropriate during Early Access but it is currently undecided whether the price will go up come full release.”

Cum doreşti să implici comunitatea în procesul tău de dezvoltare?

“So far the community has been providing us with indispensable feedback on what works, what doesn’t work as well as it could and what they would like to see next on top of helping us with bug/crash reports. We would like to keep this dynamic going all the way up to our final release.”

Dream News, May 2015

Read online:

Hi there,

Just wanted to post an update on how the Dream development is going on the current schedule. I noticed some of you were getting a little concerned and frustrated about the lack of update since February and hopefully this post will clear up as much as possible.

Since the middle of March we really haven’t done much work on Dream and for that I can only apologise and assure you we are back to full time work on Dream from today. We recently had gotten swamped with Final Year University work piling up due to working on Dream and as the May deadlines for university creeped up we had to get it finished.

So now we are all done with University and the 3 of us are back to work!

Release Schedule:

Many of you saw in the forums that I said we were looking to be done around May with Dream. This still stands true in some manner. We plan on getting the English beta done around the end of May with the final endings, inventory, levels and collectables in. We are actually not far off delivering the final side dream.

To Do:

So what’s left to do?
Other than the bug fixes right now (especially on the Bora Puzzle) and adding a flush to Howard’s toilet, the levels are pretty much done. We have one last level we are touching up before releasing. Each level still has NOT got the final script and Voice Over in, this will be added last to avoid spoilers so hopefully the levels will feel more richer and explain a lot more to you.

The inventory and items are being done by me at the moment. We have the final list of the items and are working on getting them in, working and interacting with the new inventory menu. There are 13 items that will aid Howard and we have gotten 7 of them done at the moment. Hopefully this should take no more than 2 weeks.

The collectables are also being added at some point after the next update. This will let you unlock hidden items to view from Howard’s life and count towards the games final ending as well as unlocking the soundtrack to listen to in the Hub world.

The final side dream should be done soon so hopefully we can get that out to you in the next two weeks. It’s quite a heavily narrative side dream so unfortunately until the voice over goes in it might not be fully satisfying to some of you.

So I mentioned the English Beta will be done around May which means that the final gold version with the following languages should go gold around July/August time and be fully released out of Early Access with the full story.

English
French
German
Russian

Other Platforms

Mac and Rift. It’s hard to say but this one doesn’t look good. As said before on the rift version the issues still stand the same. Mac doesn’t looks promising either. It is hard to get working and when it does most of the effects and post processing do not work. When we originally said we would be on Mac and PC we knew that UDK had a compiler that let you export to mac but it is very broken and other companies have the same issue, in fact the only successful UDK game running on a mac from what we can see is Dungeon Defenders.

We do however hope to port to UE4 sometime in the future but this is a big job and our main focus is getting Dream finished first. UE4 can port to Oculus DK2 and has a better relationship with Mac.

Hopefully this clears up most issues in the most honest way.

TL;DR pretty good but also pretty tedious. Not worth 17$.

Dream is a very interesting game with a very captivating concept.
You play as a man named Howard whose uncle recently passed away and you
are a Dreamer. The majority of the game takes place in your (lucid) dreams.
These dreams involve exploration and puzzle solving, in a variety of environments.

Pros

+Graphically most of this game looks ok
+Outside environments are beautiful and very nice to look at
+Inventory system has a very simplistic design that is easy to use and understand.
+Voice acting is very crisp and clean, and nice to listen to.
+Music is very well done
Cons

-Howard's lines are very awkward and some things he says I think shouldn't be said explicitly
-Hitboxes on some things are god-awful, especially the rocks in the desert level (some places you need to crouch to get through even if there is a five foot gap)
-The "pop in" is terrible. The ground literally changes before your eyes
-(This is just my opinion) Exploration is very tedious, I found myself using sprint as much as possible (because there is a godamn cooldown for who knows why?) because I found walking just, well slow. However this might be a personal problem especially because I like going superfast in rouglikes such as spelunky.
-The four mazes in the desert level are very tedious. Doing the same thing four times in a row is just stupid. Yes the "perks" of each maze are all unique but it doesn't change the fact that it's just the same thing over and over.
-I really hate this- thepuzzles have all been done before. Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't find a single innovative puzzle in the entire game.
-Player model is clunky and looks pretty bad, and shadows are animated badly aswell.

Though I don't really want to play anymore of this game based on what I've played so far I'm still watching how this early access title will play out. This is their team's first game, so it will be interesting how they will work things out and fix problems. If the cons I listed even are problems, and not just my own displeasure. Anyway try it out, but buy it on sale.

I really enjoyed this game. It doesn't have an interesting story or gameplay, but damn, it's atmospheric! The graphics are not good, nothing special, but sooo beautiful and the music is just brilliant, I really love it. It's always fitting, producing an extremely good atmosphere in combination with the graphics and just general design. I made probably about 30 screenshots while playing and every single one of them could absolutely be used as Background picture, because it's just beautiful. The only thing I think should be improved, is that it's sometimes really unclear what you have to do. I like if I have to find out things myself, but there should be some small guidance by the game in certain situations in my opinion, because there were moments while playing where I just ran around the world for at least half an hour and didn't get what I had to do at all. Anyway: If you like quiet, atmospheric games, this is definitely one for you!

I bought this game 2 years ago.. its still in early access and it is the prime example as to why I will not buy early access games. Early access should be for games in a "Near ready to release" state, like late beta 6 months till release tops. I bought this game back in August of 2013 and now its May 5th 2015..

I dont know if they're busy making the most amazing indie game ever or if they're just being lazy ♥♥♥♥♥ because they have my money.

Just saw the name of the Dev studio: "HyperSloth", really live'n up to your names eh?

Almost all of this game is fine, and actually kind of charming. I've even been quite enthralled by some sections.

...However,

The controls on the terrace garden puzzel section are so bad that they turn a 5 minute puzzle into something that I have spent nearly 4 hours across three days attempting to complete.

There is nothing complicated about this puzzle. I worked out very quickly that I had to rotate the lasers and I didn't have any trouble figuring out how I should align them to complete the sequence of rings.

It was the fact that I had almost zero control over the actual means of rotating the laser. Holding down F is the only way get them to turn, and they turn following some kind of mixture of RNG and some other hidden variable. Getting a laser to aim correctly would take me between 5 and 30 minutes. Often I had to give up on a solution as I had to go do something and wasn't able to leave the game running.

I'm still not done. I'm currently writing this as I attempt to align the forth of the nine lasers.

I don't really know why I am even still continuing with this. Some primitive mixture of anger and determination.

If the Terrace Garden controls receive vast improvement, I'll think about either removing this or writing a nice review about the many things I really liked about Dream.
