What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“When we started developing Heroes & Generals it was with the intention of creating a game for the gamers as much as for ourselves. The games we have been creating in the past (back in the IO Interactive days) have all been shrouded in secrecy until they were released and therefore always carried a number of things that players did not like but we were unable to change. Because it is the players that in the end plays the game we think they should have greater influence on the development.

Since the very early days of the project in 2011 (pre-alpha stage), we invited players in to play the game and have involved our community in the making of Heroes & Generals and listened to the feedback from them. So it's a natural extension of the way we develop Heroes & Generals, to also include the Steam Community, by going Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're approaching the end of our Open Beta/Early Access phase, but it's still too soon for us to put a date on when we'll launch.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We're still tweaking, fixing bugs and adding new features to Heroes & Generals, and even though we feel that the game is now fun and quite stable, we still wish to get all things 'just right' before we call it 'launched'.

We do not plan to do a full server reset when the game launches.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We're in the end of our Open Beta phase, preparing for launch.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Heroes & Generals is Free2Play. We wish to create a healthy, solid and well-balanced game and community, where you can get a great experience playing the game, no matter how much money you spend! There is already an in-game economy in place, where you earn in-game credits and warfunds for being active in the game, by playing FPS-missions and/or handling Assault Teams.

You can also buy gold, which you can use to buy practically everything, usually it give you the option of buying stuff ‘early’, so you don’t need to grind that much. We also offer a Veteran Membership to accommodate wishes of having an all-inclusive package, where you earn xp, ribbon-xp, in-game credits and warfunds at an increased rate etc.

Prices are regularly being tweaked now in Open Beta/Early Access and we will most likely still tweak prices at and after launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We encourage the players to participate in discussions in our forum: http://forum.heroesandgenerals.com/

When you write feedback about the game, remember to try and explain your reasons. Constructive criticism will help us build a better game for you.”

Soviet Revolver! Much requested Nagant 1895 coming now with Zhukov update.

In the update named Zhukov (after the Soviet Marshal Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov) a brand new Soviet revolver will make its presence known! The Soviet Nagant M1895 Revolver!

The Nagant M1895 revolver is a 7 round revolver with the option to upgrade the ammunition to the large and powerful Leonov Medved round. This makes the M1895 a distinct revolver with a high damage output potential and impressive stopping power. It is the handcannon the Soviet soldier will love and trust when they are forced to abandon their primary weapon.

This great addition to the Soviet arsenal unlocks on the Handgun Assault ribbon at Rank 9 as the second Soviet handgun.

Early Access Review
I wrote a good long review couple of months ago, ofc it was negative about this crap game, if I could have press that downvote button multiple times I would do so till my finger swallows.
So here's a shorter version of what happened and made me re-write this

I reported a lot of trolls and alts in this game and every time support either doesn't tell you what they have done or tell you this:
Yep, that's them openly saying that "alts dont exist" and that "trolling is OK if you're not in a mood to play properly"
Makes you wonder why would you waste your time playing this crap then, but wait it gets even more funnier or sad, idk how to evaluate this.
So on thier forum after I said the same thing from above a forum admin called me a liar (about support saying such stuff) and insta banned me for two weeks. LOL
After that I made a 2nd account for forum and showed these pictures and asked what will happen to the liar admin that called me a liar and banned me? And when will they start dealing with actuall trolls and alts?

Guess what happens?
Yep they perma ban the 2nd account without explenation and delete the topic
So I made a 3rd account, reposted the same topic they deleted (I made backup cuz I expected them to do that).
Aaaand this happens: http://imgur.com/a/gEz8Q
Yep turns out I was trolling.
Thats my main account, also they banned my IP adress.
After that I made one more account and insulted them good, tahts the only thing they deserve.

Stay away from these mentally disabled clowns.

25th Nov. EDIT since it's too long for comments :P

I was away with work couple of weeks so let me explain now to those why I made more accounts after ban.

First of all this was what ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me and other people that played the game for longer time, this was when I was very close to quitting the game for good. https://youtu.be/ueUw4jIvkTU?t=32
Did you listened to him? Good, I don't have to say much then don't I?
Now I understand that they get a lot of false reports and whatnot trash, but I am not one of those that send taht stuff. In all this playtime I sent maybe 7-8 reports and for 3-4 of them I admit I am wrong. But with other half, nope. So I do understand the guy from video but then again he is horribly WRONG.

Then some days later a topic on forum appeared about those alts amd trolls. So I posted on that topic under " " something similar what the guy said in video and what the support told me in ticket and how they don't do ♥♥♥♥ about trolls, tho I didn't poste the pictures. (NOTE also that for some idiotic reason nobody is allowed to discuss anything about support work and bans on forum, it quite hilarious how in game like for example LoL with millions of players, the playerbase decides about bans, but here where they have barely 10-15k active players at peak times you aren't even allowed to discuss about it, otherwise you get banned).

After a day-two forum admin appears on that topic, wham 2 week ban for me from posting on forum, reason: "LYING what support tells you is not constructive" (same sentence was wrote PUBLICLY in that topic by that dev but also had the added part "time to take a break" at the end of it), I'm sry I can't show you the picture cuz I deleted them when I gave up on this and well I can't acess the forum cuz of IP ban. But yes, those were the EXACT words for the reason of my ban when I logged on forum. And no, for the guy that asked for e-mail proofs, you don't get e-mails from them for bans, at least I didn't, only thing you get is the ban reason when you try to log in to their forum.

So that was defenitly the last straw for me. I was called publicly a liar by a dev and banned for what exactly? Daring to criticize their idiotic support? So since I gave up on the game at that moment anyway I wanted to show the playerbase what kind of people they are paying and for what. I was hoping I would reach to many players since I was a known and very good player and my goal was to more players start qustioning them and start putting pressure on these clown from Reto, because that's the only way they ever did anything-when entire playerbase "riots". And because my main was banned cuz of LYING I had to create 2nd to defend myself. With the 2nd account I posted and quoted my text and dev's response from the original topic, but this time I posted proof, the first picture from this review and my ban reason. WHAM, 2nd account PERMA banned in couple of hours, this time even the reason was not given and topic was alos deleted to oblivion. All I could see was "You have been perma banned from this board", something like that, as explained earlier I can't show you pictures cuz of IP ban.

That was just another reason for me to create 3rd account, their internet Gestapo way of dealing with problems pointed out in public. Ban, ban, ban, who cares about the problems. Anyway I reposted with 3rd account all of it again, same thing happend, topic deleted, perma baned 3td account but this time they also banned my IP and my main, the reason was as you can see in 2nd pic in review "trolling" apparently :steamfacepalm:
I gave up with my fight after that, made another acc from different IP and posted all the nice things to them I could think of. (This was the only account I agree I shouldn't have done, but you have no idea how I felt at that moment).

After all that I made this review. This here is the only thing they CAN'T DELETE and BAN to hide their failures and how they run their bussines and deal with problems.
And it is easy to know they don't do ♥♥♥♥ with trolls and alts since the playerbase is small, after some time you get to know all the players either by good or bad. And I did meet the same old same old trolls over and over again.
The person in the picture I reported was blocking line of fire of everyone in team, jumping around them to show their location to enemy, teamkilling, doing random useless stuff, had a score of ~1/25, had less xp than deaths, openly said in chat he is alting and won't help us and God knows what other stuff I didn't even see him doing.
But hey "He wasn't in a mood to play properly so it's OK"

All I wanted was for this game is to succed, the only reason this is still barely alive even after 4-5 years in BETA!!! Is it's playerbase.
A pitty, great idea ruined by monkeys behind it, monkeys that have no clue what's going on in their own product, that are too lazy/incompetent to deal with problems.

A pitty for 50eu I gave them :(

I am happy this review was seen by many.

First off i would like to say that this game have alot of potential, i have close to 3500hours both on steam and browser version. But........
Devs are not doing a great job on implentation. The grind is almost mount everest if you dont buy Vet.membership, which they keep raise the price on along with everything else in that game.

raising prices isnt a problem in itself, but when game state isnt near prices then it become a problem. There are many many bugs, many which are years old and still havent been fixed.

There is no proper roadmap of what to come where, that can be read in latest buildlog, but many times they leave out stuff they think upset players, ninja nerf/buff depending on what faction is getting what.
Lately there been a big issue with alt accounts that go into nmy side of match and destroy stuf. Reto's satnce is that there is no alt account even though its so obvious, but reto seems helpless to find a solution to that problem.

all in all you have to be a masochist to enjoy this, but if you are its a great game. i just had it after 3 years of play, we all thought Reto would stand up and grow, but alas its the opposite. If you report a hack via pm and send links.... boom banned. Dont ever spend $$$ on this game. Its been in Beta for 5 years now and graphcis are actually getting wors than when launched.

(This is from someone who mostly plays Staged battles and not the RTS side)
- Not Pay2Win, it's Pay2NotGrind
- Nice weaponry used (STG, M1/M2, PTDR, AVS-36 etc.)
- Maps are nicely made
- Infantry, Tanks, Planes, Paratroopers, Recons (oh my!)
- Infantry Only Map! :D
- EVERYTHING CAN BE BOUGHT WITH INGAME CREDITS! (this includes Veteran (premium) Membership!)
- Anti tank weapons are found around the map so tanks can be destroyed even if you don't have AT nades or mines!
- Higher rank of your soldier, the more money he earns
- Modable weapons!

- Not very welcoming for new players (stuck on SA for a while...)
- Tanks and planes can be a problem if you don't have the right equipment
- Currently, Germany is the most populated faction with most of the vets, America is mostly full of the newbs, Soviets is least populated but I find it's an average player base
- Got to pay for the weapons you used (mods, ammo, the weapon itself...)

- It can be overwhelming at first but stay for the long run to have the best fun
- It's like a "WW2 Battlefield"
- It encourages playing the objective and not K/D like COD
- You earn more money and xp for capping/defending the objective than just killing the enemy team

Fun for awhile then just tedium and dissapointment. Every patch and update breaks more then it fixes and the Devs seem more intent on gougeing player base of time and money with new bells and whitsles then fixing things. On the plus side they do jump on hacking pretty quick when you report it.

Might get better might not but don't spend any of your hard earned money on the game and you may get some amount of fun out of it for a time, assumeing the servers work anyway.

Also virus's is a thing they add some patches and updates...just sayin.
