Good Free game and surely, not Pay-to-Win. You can actually enjoy leveling your character in-game, with or without the help of others. But the community is very helpful if you know how to ask.

Great soundtrack, cool sound effects, beautiful graphics (if you got a decent PC setup).

The action might get linear after getting your first 40-level Battleframe, but after that it get more easy to enjoy all that happens around you.

Like the game description says: "... constantly changing world, deep narrative, endless customization, and rewarding player progression, Firefall will consistently deliver spectacular content that will please both PvE and PvP players", i guarantee it to be true.

If you enjoy the freedom of movement as well as MMO elements in a first person/ 3rd person shooter, then Firefall is the game for you! Although I feel there should be more variety in equipment for each Battleframe (Like how the Accord Assault can use a regular plasma cannon and a flak plasma cannon).

Overall I'd give it a 4.5/5

Like just about all MMO's out there, Firefall has is an amazing game when you are leveling all the frames and stuff, hell the storyline is legit too. However, due to a lack of a raid/group finder tool, it has a terrible end-game unless you're in one of the very few hardcore clans who are pushing pvp or pve content. The saving grace for it tho is all end-game content is PUGable atm so it's not impossible hehe. ^^ Overall I give it 8.5/10!

i played this for about 4 days, loved it but for some reason steam is saying i have 6.9 hours on it when i should have more since i spent 6 hours at a time at the least in the game.
its a realy good game, its just the grind that bogs it down, the devs should add way more missions to it so that atleast the grinding will become a bit more interesting.

i will rate it at 7/10 due to its harsh grind and the traveling time to different locations.

TL;DR Worth a try, but it really depends on the state of the game as it is highly unstable.

Mixed about this, while this game is truely F2P and I mean it.

The devs and their nerf bats are very damn strong, they usually went with stupid decision and had their players live with it for atleast 3 weeks before chaning it back or fix it, and most of those cases are very important part of the game for example: drops rate on rare and epic items, which affects the market so hard it's not even funny, crafting resources, unique items from some unique instances...

But boy when they did make things right, the game is very fun and rewarding due to enjoyable gameplay and progression that's almost like GW2 but more gear based like Borderlands
(Power Rating)

The whole open world events and invasions, the combat.

Beta was more unique but at the launch it was simplified into more of a grind fest,

still, give it a try and it might or might not suck hours of your life away depends on the condition.
Recomended.

If you've ever played an MMO and wished that it was a little more like Borderlands, or if you've ever played Borderlands and wished that it was more than superficially similar to an MMO, you should give Firefall a shot.

I have been playing Firefall since early beta, and it is constantly imrpoving at a steady pace. I have always enjoyed basically any blend of First-Person Shooter and Role Playing game, so I approach this with a heavy bias.

The main story is actually pretty engaging in a big space opera, future of the entire species kind of way. The side-quests are... on the whole, less like that, but some of them still manage to deliver in terms of ineresting and attention grabbing story. Some (but not all) of the voice acting is so bad that it's funny. Similarly to the queastionable writing, this mostly affects side-missions, but since these can be a very quick way to level, it's not like this stuff is stashed out of the way where the player might never hear it. In spite of being a hammed up cliche(at times), the story is consistent within the game world, and at no point do I find myself wondering why I'm doing anything.

The open world PVP is excellent, but sadly the OWPVP zone tends to be a bit of a ghost town. Every time I've been there I've spent long amounts of time wondering where everyone was only to be quickly ganked and ambushed by the first person I see, who then disappears as suddenly as they appeared. I see potential here, but I can't really tell you what kind of potential since all of my experiences in PVP land have been strange and surreal.

The F2P is not P2W. You advance at a decent rate even if you insist on spending no money on the game. IRL currency can be used to buy basically anything that good old fashioned mining and grinding will get you, but it can also be used to purchase things that make the overall game experience much more convenient (vehicles and gliders, XP and money boosts) or lively (customizations and cosmetics) without giving paying players any sort of advantage over other players (no weapons or kit that only paying players get).

If FPS isn't your thing you can play it in third person.

It's space opera.

The jump jets are just like the ones in Tribes (old Tribes, not the new garbage the kids are playing now, though they're probably just liek the ones in there too, if the new tribes even has jumpjets... can you really do tribes without jumpjets? God I hope they didn't try to do that).

Dude yeah, it's actually just like Tribes and Borderlands had a little F2P MMO baby that bears a strange resemblance to Destiny, but doesn't have Bungie's weird pretentious stench all over it (and it's actually a little less of a grind... yeah, a F2P game is less grindy than B2P Destiny... not sure which game that says more about).

If you read this far just download it already.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with FireFall. Don't let the time on my record fool you, I played this for a while before it released on Steam, so I have closer to 50 hours playing this game. Anyway, let's get into the pros and cons.

PROS:

- Combat is a lot of fun

- The jetpack makes this game differ from other games, with you using it more than any games I can name off the top of my head

- Playing co-op with friends and blasting through the Chosen is fun no matter what level you do it at

- Great customer service

- Their battleframe system is unique

- Even the so called "medics" are very powerful

- This game is truely free to play, with every item in the game being craftable for free, and without paying money

- The developers are very active in creating new events to change things up

- Even though there are micropurchases, you are not getting them shoved in your face every five minutes.

CONS:

- NPCs aren't memorable

- There is no quest log that you can use to abandon a quest

- Lack of a clear direction can be confusing to new players

- You have to grind a lot

- Crafting times and matierals are ridiculous

While it may look as if the game is bad, trust me it isn't. On paper it may not sound that good, but once you play the game, it works. I definitely recommend getting this game, especially with it being free to play.

Been playing this for 2 years now, got the founder pack.
Perfect for casual play.
There's some grind as in any game of this kind but the difference is FF's grind is not mindless.
The world is dynamic, events pop around all the time, there's always something to do and the devs are pumping more content regularly.

The community is mostly mature and helpful. Don't hesitate to ask for help in /zone chat.
The Lore is very interesting.
+ 10 ponts for jetpacks, controls are very intuitive and fun.

I suggest this game to anyone who wants to enjoy some action in good company but can't invest regular play time.

This is a very fun game for sure. Played for more hours than I can even count. Since March of 2012 in closed beta I have enjoyed this game on and off. There have been many changes over time to it. I say a great sci-fi genre MMO. If you like a mix of Borderlands/Defiance you will probably enjoy this one as well. The grind is real in this game though so keep that in mind.

2 years of content can be found inside my YouTube playlist if you are interested in getting some ideas of this game.

Every thing is free. You can get currency that you can buy free as well. Crystite is your answer. As long as you have a lot of Crystite you can get "Red Beans" By changing your Crystite into Credits and buying Red Beans with those. Its a long process to get enough Crystite but if you work at it you can get a lot of it at one time. Thumping and missions help a lot with this. Thumping because it draws in enemies that drop Crystite and Missions because they normally give Crystite from both enemies and when you complete the mission. Now as for the gameplay its straight forward. You have your jumpjets which allow you better mobility than in most games. You have your abilities which allow you up to four over time. Level 8 is when you have all four. Then you have your two guns. You can also add modules to both abilities and your guns. Now if your playing a class like Arsenal your abilities give you a couple extra guns with a small amount of ammo each. One clip.

Now some people will argue that the game is to hard. This can be true if your not accustom to massive enemies even if they are weak but great in size. Thumping can be an example here. some times enemies can be great in size so you have to kill more. Or they can be less in size but stronger. It all depends on where you thump. For example thumping in new eden can result in great numbers but weaker enemies while thumping in other places could result in less enemies but stronger ones. Of course you have a chance in new eden to cause magor enemies to spawn in massive amounts as well. Yes I am talking about the Chosen. In one spot I have noticed if you drop a Squad Thumper you spawn in four to five drop pods. This causes a ton of Chosen to appear and the Chosen are a pain to kill pending on where you fight them. So it can be hard if your not accustom to fighting loads of enemies and using abilities at the same time. Also if your not accustom to fighting in groups.

I say give it a try at least. You never know if you're going to like it unless you actually try it.
