I do recommend this game, but only because it's free to play, if you had to pay for it, I don't think it would be worth it.

This game is fun for a while, then it gets a little repetitive, then it gets REALLY repetitive.

In this game you're a battleframe pilot. In the beginning you can use the basic versions of 5 unique battle frames, they each level independently and though you only have to do the main story missions once, you can replay them all you like. Each basic battleframe has 2 or 3 unlockable advanced versions, these are unlocked either via cash shop, the player-run market with ingame currency, or using pilot tokens from leveling another frame to level 40 (max level).

The problem is that there isn't a very large variety of things to do, even at the start, there are about 4 different types of random events around the map, there are a few (not nearly enough) area missions you pick up at the bulletin boards in town, or main missions. After you outlevel the area you're in, you move onto the next one. There'll be some different monsters/people to kill, but essentially it's all the same.

The even worse problem is that you have to do this for any battleframe you use... There's no different story, no different events or missions, or quests... So essentially you'll do the same thing (which in the beginning is exciting but it only lasts at most a matter of weeks.) over and over again for as many battleframes you want/have.

Having friends in the game to play with only prolongs it so far.

Review:
This is one of best Free-to-Play Games i have ever played, not just that, its also my favorite game atm, we spend more time playing Firefall than any other game, now this game has Microtransactions but the stuff you can buy with it or most of them doesn't require Microtransactions, actualy almost all of them doesn't require only that you'll have to spend bit more time to get to your goal. We suggest you to play this game ASAP.

If you at all liked the tribes games, or recent Unreal games, MMOs, or shooter games in general, you WILL like this game!!! It looks awesome, runs great, & has a very cool stylized look to it... *note* when you chose a char be sure to click [customize] in the corner to choose toon options like hairstyles/color, face, eyes, voice etc. the tutorial is nice, & teaches you how to use jumpjets etc. F2P so D/L it now. Works awesome with an X360 for Win pad, AND lets you remap the buttons on it!

I waited for a long time, to write a positive review, but the game isnt getting any better.

All in all, I really liked playing it:
- Combination of FPS and MMORPG
- Sci Fi
- Open World like you have never seen
- cool scenario
- UT like movement and jetpacks
- crafting and customizing
- item shop can be payed with ingame transactions instead of real money

But the bad things just dont want to go away:
- MMO just means you have a lot of people around you. You dont benefit from them
- No content
- No challenging or satisifieng endgame
- crafting got nerft to nothing
- customizing got nerft to nothing
- Item shop is totally too expensive in some points
- farming and crafting got nerft to be totally useless
- leveling system with release of the game
- boring questing system, that wasnt needed
- whole game is too easy and they try to make it harder with building stupid "slowing down barricades" (BWA Energy shields against speedruns)
- every form of powergaming breaks the game (instance speedruns get forbidden, leveling classes in 10 - 20 hours from 1 to max)
- current patch was the first to fix the guilds (a mmo without guilds, are you dense?????)

This game is soooo cool but has so great issues, that it isnt fun anymore to play. After a month of playing I had everything I need for my character and only had to go Raids. Without proper loot system, functioning guilds and intelligent groups, even the best equip wont save you. Most of the time, I was the last survivor and had to fight until the boss is down, or the enrage timer kills me.

That is no fun.

I really want to play the game, but the game doesnt want to be played.

It's a good game that has had a troubled development history, in part because of particular member of management who is no longer with the company. The game itself is fun and is evolving. However, if you are looking for another WoW with well-defined objectives and quests, this is not your game. There certainly are things that can be goals to work toward, but how you approach the game is up to you. You are not funneled down the same path as everyone else.

For a free-to-play shooter, Firefall isn't honestly that bad. So far I've been impressed and have been more into playing this than Advanced Warfare (I got both at the same time). The game is open world and full of things to do, giving the player hours of enjoyment.

One thing that I love about the game is aesthetics, which most games (especially in the triple A industry) don't have. The colors green and blue are quite common. It's nice for some producers to understand that we don't all want maps or overworlds that are obliterated. A large undevastated world awaits people. I wouldn't say it'll make your jaw drop, but you'll notice some other colors in the world.

The combat is a little wobbly with the game lagging or freezing for a brief moment. However, as long as your internet is decent and your computer can run the game semi-well then you shouldn't have an issue. Now, I mentioned AW for one reason. Both of these games involve vertical gameplay somewhat. AW you have the extra jump, and in this game you have a jumpjet (I call them jetpacks). It makes it fun when you need to avoid an enemy, so you jump around him like a queer fairy lighting him or them up. The combat is interesting, but quickly turns into a grind, as most mission involve you going to a location to kill something or escort, or rescue. But all of them involve you killing something.

As for the pay system, it's overpriced. After a while I decided to look into some outfits. I picked out the Bandit eye goggles and the straw hat. 240 Red Bean total, or to put it in easy to understand term, $25. No, not going to happen. You can earn virtually everything in-game by grinding it, but it'll take some time.

Overall it's a good game. 7/10

So far the game seems good fun, definitely worth a spin. It is a bit grindie. Nevertheless it's a shooter/mmo and you do get some satisfaction on shooting at monsters and bandits/aliens.
The questing stories while not the most original are still interesting and some will keep you pushing the game till high hours.
The critics are way too harsh especially considering the lack of quality on mmo's you have out there.
Truly free to play, no pay to win walls. Uses the same micro transaction system as Neverwinter Night.
There is a lack of players on early zones and the learning curve is steep when it comes to all the functionalities.

Outstanding big-map shooter. Technically an MMO I guess, but that's not the focus. Squad based, objective drive sandbox gameplay, instanced "dungeon" modes with some epic bosses, loot, crafting, on of the most imaginative quick travel mechanics since Tribes brought us skiing, 15 (and counting) battleframes across 5 primary classes to suit the style of play you enjoy most. Progression aplenty, and what we see now is just the tip of the content iceberg. Red Five had 5 years of story arc already written before they left open beta. Also, a really helpful online comunity of players make learning the ropes easy if you're not afraid to ask for some help.

For the price, you've got to wonder why you haven't tried it yet.

The fact it can run on a PC as bad as mine with medium quality and still look beautiful gives it a graphics rating of 10 of 10 in my opinion. I have been a Firefall player since the first days of closed beta. Anyone that tries it now wont believe that back then there was only missions, thumping (the resource gathering), and invasions/watchtower fights. They have furthered the experience one can have on Firefall through a Campaign that I give 9.5 out of 10. The adding of leveled npcs and the leveling of battleframes will take some getting used to for me but hey, its still fun. I highly recommend this to any serious PvE player. The NPCs get a 10/10 despite the glitches (which make it 10/10 because they are almost always hilarious). The developers of the game often play alongside the players and I have the honor of having two said developers on my friends list. Overall I give this game 9.7/10 for enjoyable campaign, fun PvE combat, seasonal events, the motorcycles (known to us Firefall gamers as LGVs), and the like. Also one more note: Have your friend(s) play with you for a more enjoyable experience. I am normally a "lone wolf" on some games, but on Firefall its a lot more fun and memorable with friends. I cant count how many times I stood shoulder to shoulder with fellow ARES pilots in a squad fighting the antagonist faction known as the Chosen. The game still has some issues however, but they are working more and more each and every day to fix them. Should you read this review and try it, I want to recommend you possibly look around as soon as your in for a teacher on the various functions of the game. The game isnt hard to learn, but many will have questions. Just type "/z Hey I am new" and people will welcome you with friendly greetings. If im ever on when you try it, I can lend a hand! Just type /addfriend Cyberwolf309 and then type /w Cyberwolf309 and tell me who you are and ill help~ One last thing is customization. You can earn and buy cosmetics for your character and frame, and use general customizations such as accent, hairstyle, etc. If you dont try this game, you are missing out!

I have been playing this game for a while now. For a free MMO fps/3ps it pretty good. I do agree withh everyone stating that a bit pricey to have good gear but over all still a good game to pass the time. The world is big and it nice that the game does not keep you away from going to places that you should have a higher level be in (you get destoryed easily).

I am a sucker for games with jetpacks and after 400+ hours of playing I WOULD NOT play this again.
-Little to no pvp which is a shame since tribes multiplayer is a blast.
-No vehicles till lvl 25 so you will be doing missions that require 10+ minutes of running.
-raids that you can do 1 time every 7 days and no timer to tell you when you can raid again.
-No point in being in an Army as everyone has their own goals and nothing non-raid needs help. All can be soloed.
-No 2 person vehicles without spending alotta cash.
-It's cheaper to buy items on market so there is No Crafting.
-AI is so bad most people speed run missions by just running past all AI straight to goal. Since the AI is what it is the devs. just throw more and more at you until even a beastly gaming rig almost buckles.
-Raptor,recluse, and rhino frames rule all others and dreadnought, the "Tank"class of the game, lacks defense and HP to be anything other than a large, slow, target.

I have logged over 400 hours on this game because
-It does have nice visuals.
-it takes skill to hit an enemy while jetpacking around dodging enemy fire even if AI is dumb
-It's free
-It has jetpacks which adds in a whole new layer of gameplay.
-It has that "Omg i'm running outta rounds and they just keep coming! will I survive this fight?" kinda feel. I like any game where you die alot.

I truly hope the team for this game stop making youtube vids of them sitting on a couch talking for an hour and put some polish on this game.

I personally have enjoyed the game since I first got it, the game can get really beautiful when the sun starts casting rays around mountains and large formations, the depth of field (in my opinion) made it look even better, and if you don't like it you can configure it in your settings. While the game does start to feel repetitive after a while I did enjoy cooperating and teaming up with some players in the game. This game is worth getting and will be good for anyone who has free time and enjoys Sci Fi or Action or even just Socializing.

It's alright but suffers from an intense lack of variety after level 8 (of 40) in each class you get your final ability and the rest of the game is spent doing the same thing over and over and over again. The end game raids are chaotic but the classes are all too independent and theres very little incentive to actually work together the "instances" are even worse there are only a few and theyre almost identical to the rest of the game. Theres little variety in environments and I'm not sure why the second area(of three) is supposedly in brazil when its clearly designed as a depiction of the American West, Overall the emphasis on gunplay and movement enhances the early game experience but by the late game starts feeling more repetitive than any other MMO combat model I've played(theres a reason most shooters are only a few hours long and rely heavily on prescripted events). In the end its alright but as with most MMOs unless you turn it into a social affair youll run out of enthusiasm for it long before the developers intended for you to. In the end I'll recommend it Just because its free though I wouldnt advise spending any money on it.

I highly recommend this game. It gives a thought of a beautiful place, the music, THE GUITAR, naw bruh, I'm kidding but still, this game is definitely good to play with. Experience whole new different places that you have never seen before! Live a life out there, fly by guiders, futuristic because of the outfits and gears, villages.... The nostalgic <:) perhaps I spelt it wrong..... It's like living in nature, having competitions between different players, some maybe rhetorical or repetitive but do missions and continue storylines..... Storylines are interesting to follow for most people which I believe and MANY MORE!!!!! That is why I believe this game should be recommended to all because it gives nature experiences basically. But it all depends on opinions, opinion dependent. :DDDD

Everyone has always beaten around the subject of an MMO shooter, and believe it or not, this comes closer than any other game iv'e played so far. Think borderlands, but MMO. Fantastic game with fantastic gameplay and combat system. Yes, the game is a little rough around the edges, and needs bug fixing in a few places, but honestly between a level 1-40 playthrough, i only encountered a couple of issues here and there. Endgame content, while present and active, is not the huge thing that it should have been, and rather players are encouraged to play many different classes to a higher level in order to gain special perks that are account-wide. As far as i can tell, this game is a 7/10 for me, little rough and not graphically titanic, but an awesome game, and totally hooked.
